The Long Road to Love: The Capable CEO Dad
Chapter 90: He’s Terrifying
CHAPTER 90: CHAPTER 90: HE’S TERRIFYING
He definitely thought it right.
Eleanor Hollis was sitting quietly on the sofa at this moment, and the doctor was examining her wound.
"Nothing serious, just a mark on your face. Apply this ointment, and it’ll be fine."
The doctor took out the ointment for reducing swelling and placed it on the coffee table.
"Girls should take care of their faces. Miss Hollis, be mindful not to rub your face with a towel during this time; just use a tissue to gently wipe it. Wait until the swelling goes down before washing your face."
Eleanor nodded, indicating she understood.
Only then did the doctor turn around, intending to examine Hugo Quinn.
Hugo waved his hand directly, "I’m fine."
The doctor then packed up his medical kit, "Mr. Quinn, then I’ll take my leave."
Hugo nodded, frowned, and reached out to touch Eleanor’s cheek, which was very swollen; it must have hurt at the time.
Eleanor flinched a bit; the swelling on her face made even a slight touch painful.
"It’s okay now, get some rest."
Eleanor lowered her eyes, nodded, and thought of something, suddenly speaking up, "Marcus hasn’t had dinner yet. I was originally going to buy groceries, I didn’t expect this to happen. You should go bring Marcus back."
Hugo’s eyes softened a bit; even at this time, she was worried about Marcus. No wonder Marcus liked her so much.
"I’ve already sent Lan Yancy to pick him up. You should eat something and then sleep. Don’t go back tonight."
The villa was familiar to Eleanor from her previous stays, so she didn’t insist on leaving.
Soon, Lan Yancy brought Marcus over.
Marcus didn’t know what had happened, but upon seeing the injury on Eleanor’s cheek, his face instantly fell, and his accusing stare fixed on Hugo.
"Daddy, did you hit Mommy?"
Those were handprints; only those who were hit would have them. Did Daddy hit Mommy? Why did he do it? He is bad!
Hugo quickly shook his head and pulled Marcus over.
"Do I look like the type of person? Your mommy ran into bad people when she went to buy groceries, but she’s okay now."
Marcus reached out compassionately to touch Eleanor’s cheek, "Where’s the bad person?"
Hugo glanced in Lan Yancy’s direction, and Lan Yancy quickly spoke, "They’ve been caught. Boss, do you want to go see? This incident might have been orchestrated by someone."
Hugo thought the same, and he had suspects in mind already.
Eleanor curled her lips in mockery, "Is it Nathaniel Quinn?"
Nathaniel appearing in that place was unreasonable, especially with Grace Lynch by his side.
Their plan was likely to have someone abduct her, one trying to be the hero, and the other wanting to witness how miserable she turned out.
But they were too hasty and messed it up.
Actually, Lan Yancy suspected the same; it was just that no evidence was available yet, he didn’t dare to draw conclusions.
"Miss Hollis, this kind of thing will only be clear after an investigation."
Eleanor slowly closed her eyes, feeling an urge to kill Nathaniel.
She barely avoided being violated by that man tonight, and the mastermind behind it all turned out to be her ex-husband who claimed to care more and more about her. Truly laughable.
"Eat something first, I’ll handle it."
Hugo patted her head, instructing the kitchen to bring out the prepared dinner.
Eleanor ate a little casually; presumably, she was feeling emotionally blocked, lacking appetite.
She originally thought she’d completely escaped Nathaniel, but he resorted to such underhanded methods to ensnare her.
Being part of the Quinton Family, he had money and power.
If he continued like this, her life might never find peace again.
After eating, she started to feel sleepy and went to the room she previously stayed in, soon falling asleep.
Hugo, meanwhile, went out, heading to where the group was held.
The scar-faced man and his brothers had been somewhat scared since being detained here.
Because this group was too strong; they were no match for them, initially thinking they could leave with the money but being caught just a few hundred meters away.
"Bang!"
The door to the room was opened, and Scarface shook, finally seeing the person who slowly entered from the doorway.
His aura was strong, like a king who controlled everything, walking in casually, his face cold.
Instinctively, Scarface didn’t dare breathe, his face as pale as paper.
"I’m not very patient, I’ll only ask all questions once."
Hugo sat indifferently on a nearby chair, the light behind casting an untouchable aura.
"Who told you to abduct Eleanor Hollis?"
Hugo slightly raised his eyebrows, authoritative without anger.
Scarface was arrogant in front of Nathaniel, as he could easily gauge Nathaniel’s capacity, but in front of Hugo, his lips trembled in fear.
A man living life on the edge should be very brave, but before this man, he was as quiet as a quail.
"Not speaking?"
Hugo squinted, slowly leaning back, "I’ve given you a chance. It’s you who didn’t cherish it."
Lan Yancy knew what he meant, quickly bringing over a basin of boiling water and pouring it directly on one of the men.
"Ahhh!!"
The man screamed, feeling his clothes burning; he wanted to take them off but was held down tightly.
"Continue."
Hugo squinted, a hint of a smile on his lips; there was never a secret he couldn’t uncover.
Scarface dared not look at the man beside him; he was sweating all over, even trembling.
This man’s intimidation was immense; standing before him made him feel so small.
"Ah!"
Another basin of boiling water was poured on the man, and he was in agony, nearly passing out.
Lan Yancy took out a comb and brushed it on the man’s exposed skin, scraping off a layer of flesh.
"Help! Help! I’ll talk, I’ll talk! I’ll say everything!"
The man couldn’t take it anymore; he knew that if he didn’t agree eventually, all his flesh would be scraped off bit by bit.
This man was ruthless, using such tricks!
"The other party contacted us via phone, it was a woman, here’s the number from that time."
The man took out his mobile, trembling, and placed it before Hugo.
Raising an eyebrow, Hugo took it and instructed Lan Yancy to investigate.
The room’s atmosphere was heavy; no one dared speak, Scarface wished he could find a hole and hide in it, avoiding facing this man.
Five minutes later, Lan Yancy returned.
"Boss, it’s a new number, purchased without registering with an ID card, so it’s hard to trace. But we can track the outlet where the card was sold and check the surveillance."
Hugo nodded, slowly standing, "Wrap it up."
