Chapter 535 The Last Straw
With every word Victor spoke, Susic trembled even more.
“Victor,” she snapped, her voice shaking. “I know you know Jonathan isn’t your son. Whatever grudge byou /bhave, take it out on me. Let him go. I never agreed to be with you–it was you who forced me.”
“Forced you?” Victor said slowly, almost as if savoring the memory. “That’s not how I remember it. You were very enthusiastic in bed.”
“Shut your mouth.”
Susie couldn’t bear to hear another word. Pointing at him, she hissed, “You drugged me, you monsterb. /b
That entire chapter of her life was a dark void she never wanted to revisit. She had lost control of her own body, reduced to a creature ruled by forced lust. If Wendy hadn’t saved her, she couldn’t even imagine what she might’ve be.
Victor’s abuse hadn’t just destroyed her physically–it had shattered her psychologically.
And yet, being insulted like that didn’t even anger Victor. Calmly, he asked, “So you came here to talk to me like thisb?/bb” /b
Susie bit her lip, ring. “What do you want?”
“Did I teach you to speak this way?” Victor’s voice turned low. “Or has it been so long you’ve forgotten?”
Those words struck a nerve. Susie flinched, as if a buried memory had wed its way to the surface. Tears welled up in her eyes as she slowly knelt down.
Victor’s mood lifted. The sight of her brought back shes of the past–of Nancy.
“Come here,” he beckoned with a curled finger. “You know how to.”
This time, Susie didn’t resist. She got down on the floor and slowly crawled toward him.
Victor watched with sick satisfaction, his heart filling with twisted pleasure.
He enjoyed breaking people–especially the ones with fire in their spirit. The one he’d most wanted to tame had never been Nancy. It was Wendy. That fierce woman had defied him at every turn. He had tried everything, but in the end, she had never bowed to him.
He nudged Susie’s chin up with his foot, surveying her face with disdain.
“This face isn’t pretty at all,” he said with a sneer.
Susie’s appearance was in. Compared to the radiant Nancy from years ago, she was a shadow.

Chapter 585 The Last Straw
b“/bbIf /bWendy were still alive, she’d be nothing like you.”
Susie’s expression shifted at the mention of that name.
Victor dared to bring up Wendy?
If not for him, Wendy would still be alive…
She buried her hatred deep down, keeping her face nk so he wouldn’t notice.
Victor quickly lost interest. Susic was no fun at all now.
Still, determined to humiliate her, he didn’t send her away.
“Serve me well, and maybe I’ll consider letting Jonathan go,” he said with a smirk. “To be honest, he doesn’t seem like your son–he’s more like Wendy’s.”
Even that didn’t provoke a reaction from Susie. Victor found her even more boring now.
But he wasn’t finished.
“Let’s see if you’ve improved at all after all these years,” he murmured. “Was Chase ever really enough for you?”
He gestured for her toe closer.
Susie instantly understood what he wanted. Even after more than thirty years, she hadn’t forgotten. This man was filth–always had been.
And even now, in their old age, he was still using the same vile methods to degrade her.
Hiding the hatred in her eyes, she moved toward him slowly…
Victor leaned back, eyes closed, basking in the moment. He was old now, with little real appetite for such things, but this was never about desire. It was about power–control.
And then, a cold sh.
Years of surviving assassination attempts had honed his instincts. The moment something felt flinched.
Pain tore through his shoulder.
He opened his eyes in shock to find Susie, her eyes zing with fury, plunging a knife into his arm.
She had waited–waited until he dropped his guard.
She had forced herself through the most humiliating act, just to strike at the right moment.
