    Maddox let out a breath of relief. Too soon.

    Because when Susie was dragged out by the guards, her body covered in blood, Maddox’s eyes widened in shock. He instinctively looked back at Victor.

    Victor, as ifpletely unaware, simply waved a hand. “Take her out.”

    Maddoxposed himself and gave the order to escort Susie out.

    At the gate. Sierra had already arrived with military and police officials. She was just about to speak when her eyesnded on the figure behind Maddox–and her face drained of color. In a sh, she rushed forward.

    Susie was unconscious, her body soaked in blood, her life hanging by a thread. Sierra trembled violently as she dered, “I want to file a report. Victor physically assaulted my mother.”

    “Sierra, don’t escte this,” Maddox pleaded.

    Sierra shot him a cold re. “You might fear him. I don’t.”

    Tell him–he’s already lost.”

    She didn’t bother saying anything more. She immediately ordered her people to transport Susie to the Wynn family’s private hospital.

    Maddox remained at the gates, frozen in ce. Sierra’s words echoed in his head.

    Lost? Maybe. But what could he do about it? He was powerless now.

    Meanwhile, Sierra rushed Susie to the hospital. As the emergency room doors swung open, Chase and Jose arrived, both having changed their course after receiving Sierra’s update mid–drive.

    “How is she?” Jose asked, his voice tight with panic.

    She didn’t mention that Susie’s condition was critical–that she barely had a breath left in her. There was no point in saying it now.

    Seeing Chase and Jose so stricken. he had no words.

    For now, both father and son were too focused on Susic to even consider storming Victor’s home.

    Before long, a group of high–ranking police officials arrived, visibly tense. Both sides–Victor’s and the Wynn family’s–were powerful, and this situation had spiraled into a major incident.

    “She’s still in surgery,” Sierra said calmly.

    Jose’s jaw clenched. Without a word, he turned to leave.

    But Sierra was faster–she grabbed his arm.

    “Let go,” he said, barely holding back his fury. He didn’t want to hurt her–Sierra was the most important person to their family now.

    “Calm down,” she said gently, gripping his arm tightly before turning to the police officials.

    “You heard the report. Now, I expect you to arrest the assant.”

    “Ma’am,” one officer began cautiously, “this isplicated. Mrs. Wynn attacked Mr. Victor first. He was stabbed-

    Sierra cut him off sharply. “So he gets to beat her half to death? Is that how justice works? Why do we have bws/b, then?”

    “Besides, him iming she stabbed him–where’s the proof?”

    The lead officer frowned. “Only the two of them were in the room.”

    “Exactly. So how do we know he didn’t stage it? What if he struck first, and she was defending herself?”

    Sierra was sure Victor didn’t allow surveince in that room. The alleged stabbing was just his word.

    “We’ll investigate thoroughly,” the officer said.

    “If you’re investigating, act like it” Sierra snapped. “Don’t hide behind his foreign status as an excuse.”

    “We’ll be watching. And the Wynn family won’t forget this.”

    She delivered the warning with ice in her voice.

    Once the officials left, Sierra turned back to Chase and Jose.
