CHAPTER 75: UNDER THE MOONLIT SKY

After about two hours, the Shinigami Soldiers had arrived at their destination, and Shihon was quickly recalled as Liohime got off of the private jet.

Hokai City, one of the most populous cities in the region, and a place where an abundance of harmony between humans and Magical Beasts flourished.

At once, Liohime could see the difference between this location and Polar Town as they entered the bus that was about to take them to the hotel.

Most Magical Beasts that roamed the area were implemented more in the peoples’ daily lives. He could see that some were used for transportation, tourist attractions and even advertisements.

The joyful and fun feeling in the air around him highly contrasted his expectations, but he was convinced that this was merely an exclusive thing to Hokai City, whereas the Paradisus Legion, a few miles away, would be the stark opposite.

He swallowed hard, with his focus drifting back to that place as he clenched his fist.

"Hey, Dickwad."

"Huh?"

"Well, would you look at that? You actually answered."

"Ugh."

Harvey Hallvack, the Drugs-For-Hire Shinigami Soldier, sat on the right side of the bus in a three-seater row, with Jolene on the left and Liohime in the middle. He had called out to him with a derogatory name, and laughed at Liohime who answered his call.

"You kinda walked into that one," scoffed Jolene, while Liohime merely rolled his eyes and replied, "What do you want, Harvey?"

"Why were you two the only ones who arrived on the plane separately? I only heard from the Chief that the both of you would arrive together, but I don’t get it-"

"Why do you wanna know?" Jolene cut him off instantly, shooting a glare at him. "It’s none of your business."

"...Don’t tell me that you two were...."

Misunderstanding the scenario that they were in, Harvey shook his head in disgust, and although Liohime was about to correct him, Jolene actually decided to have some fun with that mistaken notion.

"What’s wrong? Did you wanna watch the both of us get down and dirty-"

"-Like the cuck you are?" Liohime finished her sentence while in perfect sync with her, and Harvey turned to face him with the most spiteful glance yet, while the other two passengers beside him fist bumped.

For the rest of the day, the group were introduced to the Grand Hotel, a five-star hotel that they would be accompanied in for five days, and now that it was nighttime, Liohime was able to gaze upon the specs of city lights and cars that swarmed past as he remained by the balcony of his own stunning room that included a sleek, modern, white and silver design.

The very existence of this hotel took his breath away, and he could not help but keep wandering towards each and every room where the visuals continued to excite him.

He had never been to a place this incredible in his life. For the first time ever, he was given a taste of the rich life....and now, he yearned for a bit more of that.

That was why..

I’ll be the first one to accomplish that mission. I’ll do my best.

...He had decided that despite being able to bask in this comforting lifestyle now, it was merely a step i his direction to passing the main task. He could not be easily distracted just yet.

I’ll do very light training, while also being mindful of my limitations, he concluded. Like Shihon said, I can’t push myself too hard, but I can’t afford to slack off either.

Speaking of Shihon, he had now decided to summon her to catch a glimpse of the mouthwatering location of where he was currently at, but once he did, the Magical Beast Girl was completely starstruck.

"What the fuck....are you secretly a millionaire, Master?"

"Wha..? N-No, this is the housing provision that we’ve been given by the client!"

"You have an insane amount of wealth, Master. This is insane."

"Did you not just hear what I said?"

Suddenly, her eyes caught sight of a nearby pool that was illuminated with green neon lights, and she instantly stripped off her clothes before jumping in without hesitation, embracing the cool sensation of water near the balcony where the vast, gorgeous scenery was clearly visible.

"This is the best day ever!!" she screamed out while holding both of her arms up high, while her top half hovered over the shallow depth, and she waved towards her partner in glee. "Join me, Master!!"

"Actually, I was gonna do some training-"

"Awww, forget that for a second, will you!? You have three days of rest before the real shit begins, anyway! Just relax, and have some fun with me!!"

Liohime sighed and scratched his head. Surely it wouldn’t hurt to enjoy a few hours of fun and silence with the person that he was closest to, right?

"Ah, alright, I’m coming in."

"You better be butt ass naked, too!"

"-hk, you’ll only get the pleasure of seeing my boxers, in fact!"

"Uweeehhh!? Bummer..."

Liohime stripped down to his boxers and slowly entered the pool, but Shihon instantly threw her arms around him and grinned seductively.

With the warmth between them rising as they remained close to each other, their lips neared each other, but Liohime pulled back slightly and giggled.

"Just how many snacks did you eat on the jet!?"

"U-Uh...just a bit..."

"A bit too many! Goodness gracious!"

They both laughed, and then fell into silence as they turned to face the starry night sky.

"I wanna keep living a life like this with you Shihon."

Out of the blue, Liohime said those words, and the young woman with green hair that glowed in the moonlight glanced over at his face that radiated an eager for something more.

"A life where we can just be at peace and go out together from time to time, in a place as awesome as this," he continued, "that would be incredible. That’s why, I wanna make that dream of mine a reality. So, you better start looking forward to it, Shihon."

".....Yeah. I will."
