CHAPTER 56: I SHALL BE DEATH ITSELF THEN!

Ames abruptly opened his eyes and sat up on the floor. He looked around and finally sighed when he saw the familiar environment he was in, a few moments back.

"Y-you finally woke u-up!" Kiba was sitting beside him, waiting for him to wake up.

Seeing his way of speech and meek attitude, Ames realized that this was Kiba and not his big brother character right now.

"What happened?"

"You lost c-consciousness during the h-healing process. Big brother asked me to wait and call him when you woke up!"

"How long was i out?"

"You’ve been unconscious for two days!"

Ames was shocked. he felt like he just woke up after a sleep, but two days had passed.

"I’ll call big brother then!"

"W-wait! Wait! Don’t call him now! let us talk first!"

"A-About what?" Kiba asked, confused.

"Well...anything like...yes! I didn’t ask your brother’s name! what is he called?"

"Shatun!"

"Shatun? Are you two from the desert tribes?"

"H-How did you know?" Kiba asked in shock.

"I guessed! The name sounded familiar to a friend I knew. He was from the desert tribe too!"

"What was his n-name?" Kiba curiously asked.

"He was called Shakul!" Ames replied as Kiba nodded.

"Alright! We talked! I’ll call big brother n-now!"

"WAIT! Why are you so eager to call him! Let him rest! He asked me to recover my magic so why don’t I do that first! Then you can call him here to eat me!" Ames said with a convincing smile.

Kiba looked down at the floor as if he was contemplating on the proposal, but then the air turned heavy and Ames met the glowing red bloodthirsty eyes when Kiba lifted his head up again.

"You dare play games with my innocent brother?" Shatun growled at Ames.

Ames couldn’t say anything! He was taken aback by the sudden character exchange and was caught red handed manipulating the other.

Shatun got up and moved towards his throne and took a seat.

"I didn’t think you’d be able to survive! But you did! I’m impressed!" He praised Ames as he nodded his head in approval. "How will you gather mana now though?"

Just then Ames realized that the main problem starts now. His circles were broken, he couldn’t channel mana nor can he cast magic, how would he be able to survive this monster.

There were no known methods or potions that can heal a broken circle in the heart. Even an archmage can’t perform such a miracle.

He was racking his brain for ideas, thinking for any viable option right now. just then he remembered about Luke’s book he saw at the restaurant.

’Chakra! yes! He said only those who don’t have a circle in their hearts can perform this method! If I take my current state into consideration, I am fully eligible!’

"Why are you silent? can you not?" Shatun asked irritated, he was getting impatient.

"I can! There is a way! But I’ll need a place with lots of life energy!"

"Look around you. There is only death here! All the life is in my stomach! Hahahaha!" he laughed out loud but then immediately turned serious as he said his next words.

"So that means you can’t then! Good! The wait’s over! Let me savor you now!" he started growling as his canines started showing out, ready to pounce at Ames.

A chill went down Ames’s spine. Fear gripped his senses as he realized Shatun was serious this time. He tried to think of many ways in that small time frame, but nothing came to mind.

He grew visibly frustrated and impatient when he then finally yelled out. "WAIT!"

"What now? Were you just delaying time and trying to make a fool out of me?" Shatun asked in a hoarse voice, anger visible in his voice.

"No! I’ve found a different method! I’ll need a bit of time to gather mana." Ames said.

"Hmmm.....alright! I’ve waited this long! I’ll wait some more than!"

Ames sighed in relief. He finally escaped this immediate death call.

"There is no other way! If I’m going to die anyway, I’ll just take the risk where I don’t become food for someone else! I’ll embrace death itself then!"

A determined expression appeared on his face. He steeled his mind and sat on the bony floor in a lotus position.

Since there was no life energy, he would take in the death energy to form his chakra. Ames knew the consequences of taking death energy inside his body, he would become the very dark wizard he was framed into, but to survive and take his revenge, he had no qualms if he had to become the devil himself.

He closed his eyes and remembered the mantra he saw in the book and almost lost his life to.

"If I die then I’ll come back as a spirit to kill those bastards!" Ames sighed and started chanting the mantra.

’I am for a matter, dust from the vast cosmos, for my soul is the truth in this body of lie. Let me connect to your will and be under your shade. Let me harness that which is just but a speck in your vast domain...Let me serve you as you are darkness itself, and I your eternal servant’

Ames was shocked, he knew the last words of the mantra were not there when he saw it in the book and he chanted it out without himself knowing, as if someone else was making him chant out those words.

He wanted to stop many a times, but he didn’t have control anymore, the ancient shrilling whispers of the mantra kept reverberating in the air.

The vast cosmos had appeared in the surrounding, but instead of the grandness, dark stars and realms had projected in them.

The whispers were far from any holy ancient voice and were like millions of demons whispering into one’s ears.

A black ancient runic circle with sunflower petals like pattern around the circumference started forming behind his back just below the naval region.

The black fog of death energy above started forming a tornado as it fell on Ames, the energy being sucked in by the chakra.

At the same time, in a distant dark and hellish realm, where thunder and lightning kept on falling continuously and dark shadowy beings roamed around, flying around something like the figure of a man.

There were two long and thick pillars at a distance from each other and numerous silver chains attached to it. The other ends of the chain were pierced inside the body, legs and wrists of a man on his knees between the pillars.

His hair had turned gray and so long that they fell on the floor. His body was covered with black tattoos all around and had a long grey messy beard.

His hands were held in the air with the chains and his head down, towards the ground.

Just then, he abruptly opened his eyes, revealing two crimson eyes. He looked up at the skies as a wide grin formed on his face, revealing those sharp canines and two horns on his temples that were cut.

"Hahahaha!! HAAAHAHAHA!! Finally! My salvation is here! Rise! Rise to darkness, become death itself and spread chaos! I’ll wait till the finale!!" a wide grin spread on his lips.
