CHAPTER 66: PRISON BREAK (2)

A huge castle made of reinforced stone and iron, stood strong at the center of the Umbrage city. One look and people might think it was the castle of some king or noble, but in reality it was one of the most notorious prisons in the Glaskow kingdom.

The perimeter of the prison area had a twenty feet wall stretched long and there was a huge fifteen feet metal door in it, acting as the entrance door.

There were two enforcers at the gate standing guard for the night.

Just then three figures arrived at the entrance.

"Sir!" the two guards saluted immediately upon seeing the vice jailer arrive.

"At ease soldier!" he nodded.

"Something urgent sir? You’ve come this late?" one of the guards asked seeing two man behind the vice jailer, their faces covered and one of them huge, ogre like figure.

"Do I need your permission to come here?" He said in a furious tone.

"I apologize sir! I didn’t mean that...it’s just you never come this late usually!"

"Hmph!! Something urgent came up, that’s why I had to come. Behind me are guests from the wizard tower. They are also professor at the institute of wizarding and are here on special orders from the headmaster or rather tower master, as it’s a matter of the tower!"

"But we haven’t received any notification regarding this matt.."

"Why the hell are you wasting my time here! Do I have to report confidential matters to you now!? open the fucking gate!" He shouted furiously.

The guards shriveled back, afraid of offending the second highest officer of the prison. They hurriedly moved back and opened the door for them, and the three of them entered.

Passing through the entrance corridor they reached the stairs that moved upwards. They climbed the stairs and moved to the third floor of the prison. Passing through the corridor with rows of prison cells on the two sides, they finally reached in front of a prison cell door at the end of the corridor.

The door was made up of reinforced steel and various runic talismans were stuck on it in a circular pattern and along the edges of the door. At the center was a red mana stone.

Ames waved his hand and the vice jailer immediately moved closer to the door. He brought his face closer to the mana stone and placed his eyes in front of it.

A runic circle appeared from the mana stone and spined in front of his eye. A similar runic circle appeared from the vice jailer’s eye and both of them fused together and went back inside the mana stone.

Ames then waved his hand, a black runic circle appeared in front of him. Naraka moved out and covered the whole door. The runic talismans then caught fire at a certain pattern, one after another.

"How do you know the way to unlock the door?" Shatun asked, confused.

"Because I was the one who locked it in the first place!" Ames smirked as he said.

Just then a click sound came, and the door opened.

"Can I eat him now?"

"Go on!"

Shatun’s lips parted into a grin as then he opened his mouth wide and bit the vice jailer’s head off, blood sprayed out, dyeing the floor red. Shatun didn’t let the body fall and started biting off chunks from the body.

His mouth got painted red with blood and he kept chewing with a content face.

Ames moved inside the room and conjured a bluish black flame on his palm, which then brightened the dark room, letting him see the person he came here for in front of him.

A young woman with long green hair, spread around her on the floor, her hands and legs bound with void stone cuffs and chains. Her body covered with a thin piece of cloth around her private regions.

Wounds all over her body and blood dried off on her skin leaving marks. When light from the flame fell on her eyes, she shriveled back as her eyes hurt from the brightness, which had adjusted to the darkness of the cell.

The chains rattled as she moved back, running away from the light.

"Seems like they treated you quite well Lamia!" Ames said.

The rattling of the chains stopped. Slowly she turned her head, still unable to look up. Ames then reduced the flame, dimming the light.

She then moved her head up, her emerald eyes full of hate and bloodlust looked right into Ames’s.

"I-Is this you A-Ames?" she asked in a hoarse and weak voice.

"It is me!"

"Are y-you here to f-finally kill m-me?"

"No! I’m here to set you free."

"Hehe...hehehe! You f-fucking bastard! Still trying to p-play with my mind!"

"I’m serious!"

There was silence. Lamia just kept looking at his eyes, and was shocked to realize that Ames really was serious.

"What h-happened to you? I smell darkness f-from you!" She asked, a bit curious now.

"It’s a long story! I finally know, how you felt back then! Human greed and jealousy has devoured the Ames I once was too, just like you!" Ames said, a trace of pain and anger reflecting in his eyes.

"What do you w-want Ames? I’m n-not a fool to believe e-everything that spills out of your m-mouth!"

"Let’s talk someplace nice! We have too much to discuss!"

Just then Shatun entered, wiping his face and with a content smile.

"Break the wall and pick her up! We’re moving out!" Ames said to him.

"Stop giving orders like I’m your slave! I’m happy right now, so I’ll ignore it this time!" Shatun scoffed at Ames but still moved to the wall.

He pulled his arm back and swung hard at the wall.

BOOM!! CRASH!

A huge hole appeared on the wall. Loud sirens went off immediately when the wall broke and the stone bricks crumbled. A protective shield of mana started forming around the perimeter of the prison, sealing the place down.

Ames moved at the edge in front of the hole on the wall. A black runic circle appeared in front of him and a small black ball started forming.

The ball zoomed away in lighting speed towards the protective shield. Upon hitting it, the ball assimilated inside and slowly a hole appeared on it and started expanding at a fast pace, as if it was rotting and burning away the mana in the shield.

Shatun picked her up on her shoulder and moved to the hole.

"Let’s get you out of here Lamia!" Ames started levitating and then with a sonic boom he flew away, zooming through the hole in the shield towards the sky.

"Don’t worry, you won’t die!" Shatun then bent his knees and took a huge leap, almost vanishing out of sight.
