CHAPTER 77: DISASTER STRIKES (4)
"Move! Move! Get to the outskirts." Luke and the others were evacuating the city with the help of the enforcers.
There was chaos everywhere. Commoners, families, merchants, officials, all were moving out of the city.
In a straight path from the west side of the city to the main central plaza, most of the houses and building have been destroyed and razed to the ground from the Kong’s march inside the city, taking numerous amounts of life.
Adam stood restless, he was pacing around as Luke, Raguel and Noah who had joined now, were helping in the evacuation process and deflecting the debris flying their way from time to time.
"I can’t stay here, doing nothing. I have to save Nina." Adam started moving towards the central plaza where the beast was being held back.
"What are you doing? Do you want to die even before saving your wife!?" Luke exclaimed.
"What do you want me to do then!? Save myself and wait for someone to save my wife?" Adam yelled in frustration. "I’d rather die then do nothing when Nina is trapped in that beast. Will you be able to stay like this while your loved one is struggling with life and death? Tell me!"
Luke kept his silence. He had no words to refute. He would have been the first one to jump in when his loved ones would have been in trouble. How could he stop Adam from doing that, when even he wouldn’t stay still in such situations.
RROOARRRR!!!
Just then a loud roar came from the central plaza. A fireball came flying in their direction and hit a building, blasting it into pieces as the debris flew towards them.
The people started screaming and running away when Noah and Raguel came forward and conjured two stone walls, standing one after the other, protecting everyone.
Tension and anxiety started gripping Luke’s mind. His sisters were fighting the beast alone with their two guards. But the roars and the destruction was not painting a positive picture for their situation, making him anxious for their safety.
Luke released a deep sigh and lifted his head up to speak. "You’re right Adam. We can’t ask you to stay still, but we also can’t let you go alone...I’ll be going with you too. Also, my sisters are fighting alone. I have to support them until help arrives."
"We’ll go too." Noah said as Raguel nodded in support.
A smile spread into Luke’s face. He nodded at them. "But someone has to help with the evacuation and protect the people until they move out."
Luke’s words got them thinking. Just when they were contemplating on what to do. Shane and Ruby arrived near them.
"W-what kind of friends a-are you guys? Y-You left us there." Shane complained as he gasped for breath, struggling to spit the words out.
A smile spread on Luke and Noah’s face as they both nodded at each other and looked towards Shane with a wide grin.
"You bastards! You’re thinking of leaving me again, right?"

Anna and the other three were engaged with the beast in the central plaza and trying to hold him back as much as possible. The Kong have been firing wind spheres continuously while the Imoogi kept releasing fire, making it difficult for them to approach.
Though he had been fierce in the underground tunnel, now it was acting completely mad. Firing wind spheres and fire blasts here and there, as if its only aim was to cause pure destruction, without a care for even its own life.
"That Imoogi is annoying." Anna clicked her tongue in annoyance. "Bren with me, and Fred move with Layla. Try to cut the Imoogi’s head off Layla, we’ll distract the Kong."
Layla nodded as she and Fred moved towards the left while Anna and Bren rushed ahead.
Seeing them rush at it, the Kong roared and started running towards them.
Mana covered her sword as she slashed it towards the beast. An energy arc projected out of the sword, flying towards the beast.
The Kong moved his arm as he swatted the energy arc away, facing not a trace of damage from it and kept rushing ahead.
As it reached Anna, he jumped up and came down with both his arms joined together, swinging down at her. Bren brough out a massive shield from his ring and jumped ahead. Mana covered his shied as he took the hit.
Bren’s legs bent, he got on one knee, his face contorted and cheeks puffed red as he took the full force of the attack.
Anna jumped up and laced her sword with mana and struck multiple slashes at the Kong’s arms. He screamed in pain as streams of blood gushed out from the multiple slash marks in its arms, and staggered back, releasing the pressure on Bren.
Anna kept the momentum and rushed ahead. She channeled more than half of her mana on the sword and slashed it on its face.
A long cut from the cheeks, cutting the eye and up to the forehead formed, blood gushed out and it staggered back, falling on a knee on the ground.
On the other hand, Layla and Fred rushed towards the Imoogi. Seeing them approach near, the Imoogi opened its mouth and fired a pillar of fire towards them.
Fred brough out a similar shield like Bren, covered it with mana and stomped it on the ground in the path of the fire pillar. The pillar hit squarely on the face of the shield. Fred slid back a few steps but he held on to the shield and kept it standing, supporting it with his body.
"Go, second young master!"
Layla didn’t miss the chance. She held her double edged axe tight and rushed from the side, sliding it along the ground, ready for a hard swing. She passed half of her mana to the axe and jumped up towards the Imoogi’s head.
Seeing her appear out of nowhere, the Imoogi was shocked and it immediately stopped firing the flame pillar and turned its head, but it was too late and Layla was already in front of its face,
SCREECCHHH!!!!
The Imoogi screeched in pain as a large wound opened just below its head when Layla slashed her axe down. Blood gushed out like a fountain and dyed the ground red.
Layla was ecstatic, she didn’t want to miss the chance and wanted to finish it. She jumped up again, this time aiming to slice its head off, but just then a huge palm came towards her out of nowhere.
She immediately moved her axe up, but the force was too large, as the palm swatted her away like a fly.
Layla zoomed away to the distance as she slid along, rolling on the ground, hitting it numerous times, unable to stop herself, no matter what. She hit an already broken building and came to a stop, breaking the walls upon the hit as the bricks crumbled down.
The axe fell to her side and blood covered her whole face, flowing down from the head. she didn’t loose consciousness but no matter how much she tried, she couldn’t move her body and kept lying down.
