“Nate, feed me. Pretty please?” Susanna pouted, acting coquettish.

“Alright. I surrender.” Nathan picked up the bowl on the nightstand and fed her soup with the spoon.

She ate it while smiling happily.

“Nate, do I ask you to feed me too often? Do you think I’m too much trouble? Would you hate me for that?” she asked in a small voice after a while, her gazending on his face filled with uneasiness.

“No. Don’t worry, Suzy. I’ll never hate you.” The nurse had told him Susanna had been crying out in pain all night and then sobbed the whole day. At the sight of her red, swollen eyes brimming with tears and her pale face, he could- n’t help but sigh and shake his head in pity, stroking her hair gently.

After dinner tonight, he received a call and headed back to the office to deal with work. He came here as soon as he finished it.

He couldn’t help but feel guilty for not visiting Susanna since her surgery.
