The mask of my beloved
Beloved 69
Susanna’s eyes were full of affection, her cheeks flushed with happiness. After every spoonful of porridge, she would sweetly say, “Thank you.”
Vanessa wanted to go in directly, but was stopped by the bodyguard at the door.
The bodyguard told Vanessa that Nathan was taking care of Susanna and had no time to see anyone else, so she should wait outside.
Vanessa had no choice but to stand outside.
Inside, Nathan and Susanna were being affectionate, their loving banter drifting out clearly.
Especially Susanna’s softughter, which carried an unmistakable sense of triumph.
It was as if she was saying, so what if she made mistakes? As long as a man loves her, she can still be spoiled to the heavens. And a woman who isn’t loved–no matter how meless–will still be neglected!
Vanessa didn’t know if Nathan was deliberately leaving her out there, or if he was intentionally showing off his affection for Susanna in front of her to provoke her.
In any case.
Vanessa would never again, as she once did, let the sight of such a scene make her blood rush to her head and storm in to confront
Susanna.

Now, her heart was already as calm as still water.
After standing for just a short while, she took out her phone, found the most popr song of the year, turned the volume up to the maximum, and started ying it.
In an instant.
The music from her phone drowned out the affectionate bantering from the hospital room.
Vanessa curled her lips, narrowed her eyes, and listened to the music, pletely absorbed.
After a while, footsteps sounded from inside.
Vanessa opened her eyes slightly.
A gloomy face appeared before her.
Nathan was staring at her coldly.
“Nathan, sorry to disturb you.” Vanessa straightened up, turned off the music on her phone, and asked, “When exactly are you and Susanna going to issue the public apology? I’m waiting to get the divorce certificate.”
She deliberately said the words ‘divorce certificate‘ loudly, and directed them toward the room.
She was intentionally saying it for Susanna to hear, so Susanna would cooperate with Nathan to apologize and let Nathan divorce her as soon as possible.
No one knew Susanna better than she did. Susanna couldn’t wait for her and Nathan to get divorced–the sooner, the better.

Sure enough, Susanna, energized, immediately supported herself against the wall and walked out.
“Sister, you’re here.” She walked out weakly, her face full of guilt. “I’m sorry, I wronged you. I shouldn’t have framed you. I was wrong. Please forgive me.”
Her knees buckled and she knelt before Vanessa, apologizing over and over, crying pitifully.
Vanessa looked down at this disgusting woman, her face cold and indifferent.
“Susanna, I don’t have time to watch your performance. You and Nathan should hurry up and issue the public apology. Once that’s done, I’ll go get the divorce certificate with Nathan and give you your ce.” she said impatiently.
“Okay, sister, we’ll apologize right away.” For Susanna, apologizing was nothing. If it meant Vanessa and Nathan would get divorced, all the better. She immediately clung to Nathan’s pant leg, her eyes brimming with tears. “Nate, it really was my fault this time. I’m willing to publicly apologize to my sister in the papers. I’m willing to take all the me.”
By saying this, she had essentially forced Nathan into a position where he had no choice but to issue a public apology. If even Susanna was willing, and Nathan still refused, it would mean he was deliberately stalling, which would be tantamount to admitting he didn’t want to divorce Vanessa.
Proud as Nathan was, he certainly couldn’t swallow that.
“Fine, we’ll apologize. Right now. Immediately.” Nathan was burning with a nameless anger, feeling restless and irritable, and spoke loudly.
He took out his phone, dialed a number, and ordered in a fit of pique,

“Steve, contact the media immediately and issue a public apology to Vanessa in both my and Susanna’s names.
After giving the order, he realized his fingers were trembling.
Steve received the order and immediately got to work.
In less than ten minutes, major media outlets began publishing the joint public apology letter from Nathan and Susanna to Vanessa.
As soon as the apology letter was released, it was reposted by fans everywhere and quickly shot to the trending topic.
“Alright, then let’s go to the courthouse right away to get the divorce certificate.” Vanessa nced at her phone, saw that the public apology had indeed been made and sounded sincere enough, felt satisfied, and put her phone away as she spoke to Nathan.
Nathan let out a cold, mockingugh, turned around, and strode off.
Vanessa quickly followed him out.
Susanna got up, a surge of immense joy flooding her heart.
