The Master of Beasts
Chapter 143 - 139 Hunting Ground
CHAPTER 143: CHAPTER 139 HUNTING GROUND
In just a few days, Chen Jiuge received a large batch of Spiritual Beasts and a Grotto Heaven Magic Treasure from the City Lord Mansion.
Wu Qiyan meticulously inspected the Spirit Beast Breeding situation in Chen Jiuge’s secret realm. He nodded in satisfaction and said, "Very good. It seems you truly are a master of Spirit Beast Breeding. This time, by order of our Young Master, we have specifically delivered these Spiritual Beasts to you."
"You should already know our Young Master is the current City Lord of Bibo Immortal City, your senior brother Wudao Tian. These Spiritual Beasts need your nurturing, and it would be best if you could enhance their strength."
Facing the unfamiliar True Immortal, Chen Jiuge felt somewhat restrained. "This Elder?"
"My name is Wu Qiyan. You can call me Elder Wu or by my name. I am from the Wu Family, not actually a member of the Myriad Beasts Sect; I’m just helping our Young Master manage Bibo Immortal City," Wu Qiyan interrupted.
"Elder Wu, do the Spiritual Beasts have any special requirements?"
"Special requirements? No, as long as their strength is enhanced, that’s good. Of course, if you can breed Spiritual Beasts with special qualities, the City Lord Mansion also offers rewards for that. This is also a Sect mission; you won’t lack any Merit," Wu Qiyan hinted meaningfully.
Chen Jiuge understood. It seemed the person mentioned before was indeed his senior brother. This mission was a combination of nurturing and fulfilling a task. Enhancing the strength of Spiritual Beasts without specific requirements was something many Myriad Beasts Sect disciples could achieve. It seems senior brother is quite satisfied with my little martial mouse, and by extension, has a good impression of me, he thought.
This mission perfectly aligned with Chen Jiuge’s original intentions, so he naturally accepted it.
Finally, Wu Qiyan also took note of Yue Meng’s Alchemy skills and placed an additional order for a batch of Elixirs.
Looking at the glittering Merit points, Yue Meng silently thought, Sorry, Big Fat Gold, your Elixirs will have to be delayed.
Full of envy, jealousy, and resentment, Da Bai screamed internally, Why didn’t they give me an Artifact Refining task?!

Mahayana Hunting Ground
Clad in sand armor, Bali launched a fatal strike with his enormous tail at a Demon General immobilized by a Sand Snake.
"Phew, Brother Yujing, how many is that?" Bali panted.
"The third Demon General, and the tenth Mahayana cultivator overall," Ming Yujing replied, glancing at the Token in his hand.
"This snake is truly exhausted," Bali complained.
Since arriving at this Hunting Ground, nearly a month had passed. In that time, they hadn’t encountered any allies, only enemies—a total of ten Mahayana cultivators. They averaged one battle every three days. This success was largely due to Ming Yujing’s support; otherwise, forget ten Mahayana cultivators, they would have been thanking their lucky stars if they managed to kill even a few.
"Two Fellow Daoists, please wait," three Myriad Beasts Sect disciples emerged from the ground not far away.
"Who are you?" Ming Yujing asked, his expression guarded. Even the exhausted Bali assumed an attack stance.
"Fellow Daoists, we are not enemies. We are disciples of the Myriad Beasts Sect. You two must be Spiritual Beasts of fellow disciples from our Sect, right? We would like to ask for your help," Yue Feng said, taking out his Myriad Beasts Sect disciple Token as identification.
Glancing at the Token, they confirmed he was indeed a Myriad Beasts Sect disciple—and a Direct Disciple, just like their master. Seeing this, the two snakes relaxed slightly.
"What help?"
"My name is Yue Feng. This is my junior sister Bai Jing and junior brother Lin Cheng. The three of us discovered a Demon Clan gathering place in a valley. Inside, there are four Demon Generals and nine Mahayana servant-soldiers. Our strength is a bit lacking. We happened to witness your battle with the Demon Clan just now, so we wanted to invite you to join us," Yue Feng briefly explained.
Ming Yujing glanced at Bali, feeling tempted. With so many from the Demon Clan, we could earn a significant amount of Merit. The income from hunting these demons would mostly be ours.
"We need to confirm this ourselves," Ming Yujing said, not agreeing immediately despite the temptation.
"That’s fine," Yue Feng considered for a moment and consented. Lin Cheng, standing beside him, opened his mouth as if to speak but ultimately said nothing.
The valley’s location was well hidden. They passed through a dense jungle of vines and then squeezed through a mountain cave before finally arriving at their destination.

Looking at the demons below preparing to eat, Bai Jing found it hard to watch.
"Ao Tuo, just this one? Isn’t it too little?" Ao Juelan complained, patting his huge belly. How can such a small amount satisfy my hunger?
"Ao Juelan, this is the last one! The mission from above is to kill more Mahayana cultivators from the Human Clan. You’ve been resting here for many days," Ao Tuo retorted, clearly dissatisfied with Ao Juelan. He felt that the higher-ups had made a huge mistake appointing this glutton as team leader, even though Ao Juelan’s strength was indeed the greatest.
"Ao Tuo, don’t be like that. Humans are inexhaustible; you can’t kill them all. With this time, you might as well prepare the ingredients. This afternoon, I’ll take you out to achieve great things. After all, we’ll be out of food then," Ao Juelan shrugged nonchalantly.
"You’d better," Ao Tuo replied, then picked up the barely breathing Mahayana cultivator, preparing to butcher it.

"What do you two think? If we don’t act now, that Fellow Daoist will lose his life," Yue Feng said anxiously.
Lacking much experience in worldly affairs, Yue Feng was still kind-hearted. At least, he couldn’t bring himself to stand by and watch the Demon Clan devour one of their own.
"We agree," Ming Yujing consented. The strength of these demons is as Yue Feng described. We can handle this.

Under the cover of Bai Jing’s Magic Treasure, Ming Yujing released a large number of Sand Snakes, which quietly approached the demons in the valley.
Seeing a demon raise a bloodstained cleaver, Ye Xiu, who was barely clinging to life, showed a trace of panic on his face, but it was quickly overwhelmed by hatred. My junior brothers and sisters were all eaten in the past few days. If it weren’t for my own superior cultivation, the lead demon wouldn’t have said to save me for last. I would probably have died long ago.
