The Master of Beasts
Chapter 202 - 5 Come Over to Me Now!
CHAPTER 202: CHAPTER 5 COME OVER TO ME NOW!
"Hey, what’s going on here? Could it be Junior Brother Chen has finally seen the light? So, which one of you is my new sister-in-law?" Wudao Tian looked at the two young women before him, then shot Chen Jiuge a suggestive look.
Chen Jiuge didn’t quite know how to respond. Is Senior Brother always this... unrestrained?
"HISS. Could it be both of them?" Wudao Tian was somewhat impressed.
Ever since he returned and confirmed his Daoist couple relationship with Die Luowu, Wudao Tian had come to understand the feelings of those Divine Beasts in the Main Hall who were henpecked by their spouses. If his Junior Brother really managed to handle these two formidable-looking women, he too would need to learn a few tricks.
"Senior Brother, what are you doing here?" Chen Jiuge finally asked.
"Well, your sister-in-law and I confirmed our Daoist couple relationship, so we thought we’d go for a stroll. Sea Pearl Immortal City has a nice atmosphere, so here we are." Wudao Tian casually pulled a somewhat embarrassed Die Luowu to sit down and poured himself a cup of Spiritual Tea.
"Where did this bumpkin come from?" Nian Long scoffed.
Chen Jiuge looked at Nian Long with admiration. Wow, he’s that audacious?
Tian Yiyi, on the other side, also recognized Wudao Tian’s identity and her gaze towards Nian Long filled with admiration. This must be the Senior Brother of the Myriad Beasts Sect, that brute Wudao Tian.
I never realized Nian Long had such courage! Truly worthy of being a disciple of our Sea Tide Heavenly Sect, Tian Yiyi thought with great admiration.
Wudao Tian was stunned. Me? A bumpkin?
"What? You’re calling me a bumpkin?" Wudao Tian retorted, an amused rather than angry smile playing on his lips.
As a Heavenly Immortal, Wudao Tian didn’t actively display his Cultivation, so Nian Long, a mere Mahayana cultivator, naturally couldn’t perceive it. Maintaining his arrogant stance, Nian Long said with a dark expression, "So what if I did? Can’t I say it?"
"I respect cultivators with guts, but that doesn’t mean I forgive insults," Wudao Tian said as he reached out, grabbed Nian Long, and pressed down lightly.
"CRACK! CRACK!"
The sound of bones cracking echoed as Nian Long let out a painful howl. He instantly realized he had provoked someone he couldn’t afford to offend and screamed, "Spare me! My Master is a Heavenly Immortal!"
Wudao Tian slightly reduced the pressure. "Call your Master over."
Nian Long’s Divine Soul was now reeling from terror; he instinctively activated the protective Amulet his Master had given him.
"Who dares harm my disciple?" A commanding voice sounded as an elegant, middle-aged man materialized in mid-air.
"So, you’re the disciple of that old lecher!" Wudao Tian sneered.
"Wudao Tian?" Fang Zongming’s eyes focused. He carefully observed the scene, then frowned slightly. "Wudao Tian, you brute! Why did you attack my disciple? Bullying the weak isn’t your style, is it?"
"That’s why I had him call you out. Now, get your arse over here!" Wudao Tian demanded, his eyes blazing with fury.
This domineering display made Chen Jiuge silently exclaim, Senior Brother is incredible!
Die Luowu also seemed captivated by Wudao Tian, gripping his hand tightly, the adoration in her eyes about to overflow.
Nian Yu wasn’t thinking as much; It seems I’ve triggered quite an incident, she thought, shivering in fear.
Tian Yiyi’s heart churned with a mix of emotions. Is this the might of a Great Sect Disciple? Indeed, the Sea Tide Heavenly Sect still has a long way to go.
Fang Zongming’s face turned livid as he stared at Wudao Tian, but he dared not utter any harsh words and simply severed the connection.
"HEH HEH. It seems your Master has abandoned you?" Wudao Tian said with a chuckle, looking down at the limp, despairing Nian Long on the ground.
"Junior Brother, now explain this situation to me," Wudao Tian suddenly asked.
"Ah, oh, it was like this..." Chen Jiuge began to recount what had just happened.
"So, you’re the main reason for all this?" Wudao Tian asked, stroking his chin as he looked at the trembling Nian Yu.
Die Luowu silently nudged Wudao Tian, her expression urging him to be gentler. The young woman was quite pretty; it would be awkward if his Junior Brother genuinely developed feelings for her.
"Ah, oh." Wudao Tian instantly understood Die Luowu’s look. "No worries, a minor issue. This is your brother, right? Do you think we should spare his life?"
Nian Yu dared not speak, only shaking her head frantically.
"Not sparing him, huh? Good, that suits me perfectly. I like this prospective sister-in-law." And with that, Nian Long was reduced to dust.
Chen Jiuge, looking utterly exasperated, explained, "Senior Brother, she is not my Daoist couple."
"I get it, I get it," Wudao Tian said with a knowing wink.
Watching his Senior Brother’s suggestive gaze, Chen Jiuge was screaming internally. What do you even understand? I don’t understand any of this!
"And this one? The aura of the Sea Tide Heavenly Sect’s Cultivation Technique?" Wudao Tian’s gaze sharpened.
Tian Yiyi felt like she might wet herself from fear. This was the pressure of a Heavenly Immortal. Am I going to die?
Thankfully, Chen Jiuge’s heaven-sent voice rang out, "Senior Brother, not her, not her! She’s my business partner."
"Alright then," Wudao Tian said, retracting his aura.
After abandoning the Merfolk and not even bothering to collect the Spirit Stones, Tian Yiyi immediately fled.
After settling Nian Yu in a vacant room, Chen Jiuge began to ask his Senior Brother about his and Die Luowu’s situation.
Towards a Junior Brother he acknowledged, Wudao Tian shed all airs of a Heavenly Immortal, acting more like a caring elder brother as he pulled Chen Jiuge aside to catch up.
Before long, Da Bai and Yue Meng, who had been minding the store, also returned.
A slightly flustered Die Luowu pulled Yue Meng back to their room for some girl talk, while Da Bai, of course, was roped in by Wudao Tian for drinks.
They were past acquaintances now, practically old friends. Wudao Tian remembered from their last bout with the Monkey Wine that this little fellow, Da Bai, could really hold his liquor, so he naturally wasn’t going to let him off the hook this time.
This round of drinking left Chen Jiuge with a splitting headache.
As for Da Bai, Chen Jiuge was baffled to see him hanging from a ceiling beam, fast asleep.
It wasn’t until Wudao Tian cut him down that Chen Jiuge learned the full story. Apparently, Da Bai had drunk too much the previous night and boasted that whoever got drunk first would be strung up. Consequently, Da Bai, having the lowest tolerance, met this fate—and Chen Jiuge himself had tied the rope!
His Senior Brother’s appearance had, in an unexpected way, helped resolve Nian Yu’s predicament. Looking at Nian Yu before him, Chen Jiuge felt she shouldn’t get off scot-free, so he assigned her to look after the store, thereby liberating the two youngsters.
He had thought the matter was over, but then, unexpectedly, that Heavenly Immortal from the Sea Tide Heavenly Sect actually came crawling back.
Watching the Heavenly Immortal, a figure of remarkable presence, apologize and offer reparations to his Senior Brother, Chen Jiuge suddenly found the world overwhelmingly absurd. Fang Zongming was ostensibly the aggrieved party—he had lost a disciple and a prime Furnace prospect—yet he was the one groveling and offering apologies.
Is this what power is? At that moment, Chen Jiuge’s obsession with becoming an immortal intensified boundlessly.
Fang Zongming’s humble demeanor did somewhat appease Wudao Tian. After all, Fang Zongming was an Elder of a major sect. Even though the Sea Tide Heavenly Sect was far weaker than the Myriad Beasts Sect, his Senior Brother couldn’t just kill him over such a minor incident.
"Junior Brother, remember, strength is fundamental. Of course, for now, you can still call on me, your Senior Brother, for help. Setting aside those lunatics, who in these surrounding domains doesn’t know of my, your Senior Brother’s, power?" Wudao Tian boasted proudly.
"Thank you so much, Senior Brother." Chen Jiuge was genuinely grateful. With his Senior Brother around, his sense of security was truly off the charts.
