The Master of Beasts
Chapter 423 - 69: Spiritual Beast Shows Its Might
CHAPTER 423: CHAPTER 69: SPIRITUAL BEAST SHOWS ITS MIGHT
Chen Jiuge looked at the tattered clothes of the Myriad Beasts Sect disciples, a trace of astonishment on his face.
"What happened to all of you?"
A bitter smile touched Yue Jun’s lips. "Junior Chen, please excuse our appearance. The True Demon Clan’s strength is overwhelming. Our vestment robes were destroyed long ago, and we currently have no replacements."
Hearing this, Chen Jiuge quickly led the group to a Cave Heaven Secret Realm.
Looking at the lush vegetation and Spiritual Beasts rushing about in the Pocket World, Yue Jun, a grown man, almost shed tears. God knew how much suffering he had endured over the past month.
Once proud prodigies, they had long since lost their arrogance battling the True Demon Clan. Watching fellow disciples, both junior brothers and sisters, fall before his eyes, Yue Jun’s heart had filled with hatred. Now, suddenly seeing this sanctuary, his mind was even more shaken.
The Star Sea Sky Battle didn’t prohibit bringing one’s Grotto Heaven. However, bringing a Grotto Heaven into the arena would create a subtle pressure, weakening a Cultivator’s combat strength. Although not by much, on this life-or-death battlefield, even that small amount of strength was critically important.
After washing up and changing into clean long robes, Yue Jun and Chen Jiuge sat down on the ground.
"Senior Brother Yue, how are things outside?" Chen Jiuge asked, cradling a newborn lamb in his arms.
"Not good. The individual strength of the True Demon Clan is too formidable. An average race needs to sacrifice at least five members to take down one of them. For the slightly stronger True Demons, one fighting ten is not an issue."
"That special suppressive effect is truly immense. Many Cultivators with weaker wills were clearly on the verge of winning, but they would die in a moment of distraction. It’s just too..." Yue Jun sighed heavily.
"However, to be able to use the Tiger and Wolf Medicine to drive away the True Demon Clan, Junior Chen, you are truly talented!" Yue Jun praised, recalling their earlier encounter in the mountain forest.
Looking at Yue Jun’s sincere expression, Chen Jiuge knew he wasn’t being sarcastic and replied sheepishly, "It was a desperate move. The strength and foundation of my subordinate Cultivators are much weaker; we had no choice but to resort to such measures."
Yue Jun shook his head. "Junior Brother, that’s not the right way to think about it. Right now, in the eyes of the True Demon Clan, the foundations of all races are extremely poor."
"Not long ago, newcomers began arriving from the outside world. Those Cultivators, entering for the first time, were all incredibly arrogant. Now, they’ve been beaten to a pulp, and who knows where they’re hiding."
"So, the situation outside is very bad?" Chen Jiuge asked in surprise.
"The Golden Immortal and Immortal Battlefield fronts are relatively stable. Due to superior numbers, they currently seem to have the upper hand. Conversely, those at the True Immortal and Heavenly Immortal levels are constantly being suppressed, unable to even lift their heads."
"After these True Demons massacred a significant number of True Immortals and Heavenly Immortals, many among them have advanced to the Golden Immortal realm. I’m afraid the longer this drags on, the stronger the True Demon Clan will become," Yue Jun expressed his concerns.
"Senior Brother, don’t dwell on it too much. Rest for now."
「....」
This Grotto Heaven was the Green Bamboo Realm. After many years of nurturing, it now covered an extensive area. For this expedition, Chen Jiuge had also transferred many Spiritual Beasts from Eden Garden into this realm.
Knowing that the True Demon Clan could increase their strength by devouring Cultivators, a vague idea had formed in Chen Jiuge’s mind.
Now that the dense forest outside the valley was devoid of any True Demon Clan presence, it was time to implement his plan.
Reaching the depths of the Grotto Heaven and observing the carefree Spiritual Beasts, Chen Jiuge inspected the Bloodline contained within each one.
This batch of Spiritual Beasts had been bred and raised in Eden Garden. The Bloodlines within them were largely similar, especially the Fire Flood Dragon Bloodline, which was present in almost every Spiritual Beast.
It seems I need to cultivate the Fire Flood Dragons first, but I’ll need to erase their consciousness, Chen Jiuge silently pondered.
The Golden Finger, since merging with the Tao Fruit, no longer had any extraction limits. However, this did not mean Chen Jiuge was invincible. Bloodline didn’t represent everything. A pure Bloodline merely provided Spiritual Beasts with a higher starting point, not a guarantee for their future.
After all, many legendary Great Powers had started from the bottom and climbed up step by step. Cultivation in the later stages focused more on one’s Dao Heart and comprehension; the Dao itself is paramount.
However, this was unrelated to what Chen Jiuge was about to do. The main purpose of cultivating these Spiritual Beasts now was to harass the True Demon Clan.
Considering the True Demon Clan’s trait of growing stronger the more they consumed, Chen Jiuge planned to add something extra to these Spiritual Beasts.
He captured a long worm and continuously injected a large amount of Fire Flood Dragon Bloodline into it. Its form began to change.
Its body slowly elongated, its brown scales started turning red, its rounded head began to look ferocious, and two small horns started to emerge. Soon, a force-matured True Immortal Fire Flood Dragon appeared.
Now, to add a little something extra! Chen Jiuge thought. He then injected different black Bloodlines into it. This was the Bloodline of the Blood Poison Rabbit, a variant of the Snow Rabbit. It was a useless variant; except for its extremely poisonous blood, it had no other use and didn’t even qualify as food.
One after another, poisonous Fire Flood Dragons appeared in the sky. Because the mental development of force-matured Spiritual Beasts was slow, and Chen Jiuge had also implemented secret techniques, this batch of Fire Flood Dragons was left with only their biological instincts.
Hundreds of Fierce Beasts gathered, and even under Chen Jiuge’s suppression, they began to eye their companions restlessly.
"Let’s stop here for now," Chen Jiuge said, wiping the sweat from his forehead. "Any more, and I might not be able to control them. It’ll be troublesome if they start fighting each other."
Although the Golden Finger no longer had limits, it still consumed his Mana. If Chen Jiuge’s foundation hadn’t been so profound, he wouldn’t have been able to create hundreds of poisonous Fire Flood Dragons at once.
Transferring them to a Spiritual Beast Bag, Chen Jiuge quickly moved through the mountain forest.
Knowing that the woods were now devoid of True Demon Clan members, Chen Jiuge faced no further restrictions. He quickly traversed the woods and soon arrived at the other side of the forest.
