The Master of Beasts
Chapter 92 Descendants of Li Qiwen
CHAPTER 92: CHAPTER 92 DESCENDANTS OF LI QIWEN
The grand Beast Breeding Competition drew to a close. It was said that the winner was the Wind and Thunder Dual Phase Saber-toothed Tiger, which, in turn, indirectly elevated Silver King’s status once again in the hearts of many disciples.
Chen Jiuge was grinning from ear to ear due to the sheer number of Silver Iron Eagle orders. However, this happiness also came with its own worries: there were simply too many orders, and Silver Iron Eagles didn’t breed that fast. He couldn’t possibly sell all of his adult Silver Iron Eagles. Wouldn’t that be digging his own grave?
While Chen Jiuge was buried in worries about the breeding plans for the Silver Iron Eagles, Li Qiwen received a message from her hometown.
Lin Wanhai, who had once promised to bring ten of the Empress’s children to the Myriad Beasts Sect, had also left behind a Token. This Token was now activated. As Lin Wanhai was away on a mission and unable to return promptly, he remembered that two of the Empress’s younger sisters seemed to be at the Myriad Beasts Sect.
However, one of them was with the Guardian Army, making her unavailable. So, he had someone write a letter and send it to Li Qiwen, asking her to receive the Empress’s descendant.
After reading the letter’s contents, Li Qiwen was filled with nostalgia.
A hundred years in the Heavenly Realm was equivalent to a thousand years in the minor world. Her sister must have passed away long ago.
After hesitating for a long time, Li Qiwen ultimately decided to find Chen Jiuge.
Looking at Li Qiwen, who stood there hesitant to speak, Chen Jiuge put down his work, wiped his hands, and asked, "What’s wrong?"
Thinking of how good her sister had been to her, she knew she couldn’t ignore her sister’s descendants. Mustering her courage, she said, "A relative of mine has arrived."
"A relative?" Chen Jiuge was a bit puzzled. Aren’t you from a minor world? What kind of relative could you have here?
"An Ascender?" Chen Jiuge asked, somewhat surprised.
"No," Li Qiwen shook her head and then passed Lin Wanhai’s letter to Chen Jiuge.
After reading the letter, Chen Jiuge roughly understood the situation. Moreover, since Lin Wanhai was the Young Master of the Lin Family, and both Lin En and Lin Jiu were also from the Lin Family, Chen Jiuge naturally wouldn’t trouble Li Qiwen over such a trivial matter.
He handed his own Token to Li Qiwen and said, "Return quickly after you’ve received your relative. If your relative has nowhere to stay, they can temporarily stay with me."
Not long after Li Qiwen left, Zhu Yinghuang hurried over.
"Brother Chen, where is that girl from the Imperial Family whom you brought from the Martial Arts World?" Zhu Yinghuang stretched his neck, looking around.
"Are you also here for the Empress’s descendant?" Chen Jiuge wondered. Is a mere descendant of an Empress from a minor world really worth all this fuss?
Zhu Yinghuang shook his head, then nodded. "Lin En and I were the last to leave the minor world. After fulfilling our promise to the Empress, Lin En left behind a Token. Lin Family descendants need to drip their blood on the Token at eight years old. If their talent is strong enough, the Token will activate and teleport the person directly to the Myriad Beasts Sect."
"This is also related to Lin En’s speculation. The vast Origin that the minor world consumed hadn’t yet been infused into the local martial artists, and the Origin already used couldn’t be recovered. Therefore, Lin En speculated that a genius would definitely be born afterwards, and there was a high chance it would be within the Imperial Li Family."
"I see. Brother Zhu, don’t worry. I’ve already instructed Li Qiwen to use my Token to receive the person," Chen Jiuge said, motioning for Zhu Yinghuang to be at ease.
"That’s good."
"Brother Zhu, regarding the arrangements for this child, do you and the Young Master of the Lin Family have a plan?" Chen Jiuge asked curiously.
Zhu Yinghuang faltered. This was a decision the two of them had made on their own; they hadn’t made any prior arrangements. Bringing the person in was already quite an accomplishment.
"Why don’t you leave her with me for now? With Li Qiwen around, it should be fine," Chen Jiuge sighed. Isn’t the current Young Master of the Lin Family, Lin Wanhai, a real prodigy? Could it be that he’s been infected by Brother Zhu? Hah, truly terrifying.
"Then I thank you, Brother Chen. If the child’s talent proves to be good, I hope you can take her in, preferably as a disciple at Hundred Herbs Peak," Zhu Yinghuang requested.
Chen Jiuge looked at Zhu Yinghuang, puzzled.
After a moment of eye contact, Zhu Yinghuang admitted somewhat sheepishly, "I just feel that the Empress had a rather tragic life. I want to help her descendant, but Vermilion Bird Peak can’t take in disciples directly, and my father can’t change that. As for asking the Elders to take her as a Direct Disciple, I’m not qualified enough to make such a request."
"Alright then," Chen Jiuge agreed somewhat reluctantly, out of goodwill for the helpful Young Master of the Zhu Family.
Thanks to Chen Jiuge’s Direct Inheritance Token, Li Qiwen smoothly brought the little child, a descendant of her own sister, back from the main entrance of the Myriad Beasts Sect.
"Is this the descendant of the Empress?" Chen Jiuge asked, looking at the delicate little girl.
"She seems quite well-behaved. Surprisingly, she isn’t crying or fussing," Zhu Yinghuang said, pleased with his judgment.
Chen Jiuge was speechless internally. Brother Zhu is as unreliable as ever. Never mind, I’ll test her talent first.
Chen Jiuge didn’t have a Talent Stone for testing, but his senior sister Wen Ruo did, so he called for her.
Wen Ruo, graceful and bearing the Talent Stone, soon arrived and asked, "Junior brother, is this the descendant of the Empress from the minor world you visited before?"
"It should be. Senior sister, please test her."
Though the little girl didn’t cry or fuss, she also didn’t speak, silently placing her hand on the Talent Stone.
A rich Green Light emerged, and behind her, the image of a massive tree appeared, emanating endless vitality.
"Wood Origin Spirit Body!!!" The three present—Chen Jiuge, Zhu Yinghuang, and Wen Ruo—exclaimed in unison. Only Li Qiwen, who wasn’t as familiar with such things, looked bewildered.
"Brother Chen, your luck is truly good! This child seems perfect for Hundred Herbs Peak," Zhu Yinghuang congratulated.
Chen Jiuge wore a wry smile and turned to his senior sister. "Senior sister, what should we do?"
"Let’s accept her for now. Once Master finishes his seclusion, we can decide whether he will take her as a disciple. I’ll be responsible for her basic training in the meantime," Wen Ruo suggested after pondering for a moment.
Watching her distant grandniece being led away by the First Senior Sister of Hundred Herbs Peak, Li Qiwen was moved. Sister, perhaps your wish will come to fruition through this child.
Chen Jiuge was unaware of Li Qiwen’s thoughts. If he had known, he would have scoffed at her. What is she thinking? Our Master is merely a Heavenly Immortal, while Baili Wen’s father is a Golden Immortal. Unless the Peak Master himself is willing to intervene, there’s only a slim chance, and even that’s unlikely since Baili Wen is still the Young Master of the Baili Family—a position he owes to his father.
After Wen Ruo took the little girl away, Chen Jiuge said to a visibly content Li Qiwen, "Stop staring, she’s already left. You’d be better off focusing on your cultivation. A hundred years have passed, and you’re still at the mid-Nascent Soul stage. Don’t let yourself be overtaken by this distant grandniece of yours."
Li Qiwen felt a bit embarrassed. Her talent was actually not bad. However, compared to the freakishly talented people around Chen Jiuge—herself with a Golden Finger, her senior sister being the top prodigy of Hundred Herbs Peak, and Zhu Yinghuang being among the most talented of his Zhu Family generation—the pressure on Li Qiwen was immense.
Fortunately, over these hundred years, Li Qiwen had begun managing the Spiritual Beast sales and had regained some confidence through her dealings with some of the Outer Sect disciples.
