CHAPTER 162: CHAPTER 101: SEEING RED (PART 2)
Xia You held a tray in her hand, on it were several sparkling clean glasses and a large fruit platter. After she entered, she casually closed the door behind her, paying no mind to Mo Xixi, who was blinking fiercely as though having a spasm.
Golden Splendor’s coffee table was very low, requiring one to kneel on one knee to place down the items in hand. Xia You said, "Li Zhen said she’ll be excusing herself for a bit and had me come keep everyone company for now," Xia You knelt on her left knee, placing the clean glasses on the coffee table.
"Newcomer?" The middle-aged man casually glanced at Xia You. After realizing she was a woman, he became interested in the attire she wore, the Young Master’s uniform. The waffle silk shirt she was wearing was particularly clingy and highlighted colors well. As Xia You knelt down, the tightly buttoned waistcoat accentuated her lovely figure.
The chestnut-colored woman’s brow furrowed, withdrawing one hand that was on her. This man was her major patron, and although she was still unaware of what background he came from—usually only addressing him as Boss Hui—she could sense that he had taken an interest in the new "Young Master."
Men lose interest in old toys. The chestnut-colored woman bluntly said, "Since she’s here, let’s drink together. Ah Hong, go get a double portion of drinks. Boss Hui won’t mind the expense anyway."
The booze on the table, besides those opened for the guests, were all mid-priced, but once inside Golden Splendor, even mid-priced drinks command a premium. With a few words from the chestnut-colored woman, the man was about to drop tens of thousands more.
Xia You still knelt on the ground, and Mo Xixi became anxious, giving her a nudge from behind.
Xia You rarely touched alcohol because she didn’t like being in a state of unclear consciousness, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t drink.
Her hand flipped a glass over, then another, and pushed it in front of Boss Hui. "It’s quite lonely drinking alone, how about Boss Hui honors me with his company, let me drink to you first."
The rosy liquor filled her glass. Xia You’s tongue delicately touched the surface of the alcohol, ripples forming on the top.
Her action was like a kitten testing the temperature of milk, yet it made the two men accustomed to splendors itch with interest.
One gulp after another, as Xia You finished the last sip of liquor, her eyes reddened. Drinking could flush the face, but Xia You’s flush was in her eyes. Slightly intoxicated, she turned the glass upside down, "Boss... Hui... it’s your turn."
Mo Xixi had not seen Xia You like this before; she seemed to be truly unable to hold her liquor. She was now unsteady on her feet, even her tongue was in knots, her words coming out garbled.
Tilting and about to fall, Mo Xixi couldn’t react in time. However, someone else did, moving faster. The chestnut-hued beauty was pushed away, glaring at Xia You with resentment.
"It’s your turn," Xia You muttered, struggling as she poured another glass of liquor.
Truly a pair of beautiful eyes. Li Hui admired beautiful things, especially those rare beauties—both people and objects—he always desired to possess. He took the drink with one hand while pulling Xia You, who was slightly further away from him, back to his side.
This woman was beautiful, particularly her eyes—when they turned red, they resembled rare agate, tempting someone to gouge them out. Li Hui smiled, lifting the glass of liquor to his lips.
"Ouch," Li Hui had just taken a sip when a sharp pain struck his lip—the rim of the glass was broken. His lip was cut; the blood seeping into the drink.
"What are you trying to do?" the man wielding a gun threatened.
"Nothing," Xia You’s eyes remained a vivid red, her hand seemingly affectionately wrapped around Li Hui’s neck, but in her other hand, she held another glass, the one she had just emptied.
The rim of every glass that Xia You brought in was chipped. After the smooth body of the glass had acquired several jagged edges, it became a deadly weapon that could end a life in an instant.
"Boss Hui, she’s my friend. You have offended her just now," Xia You didn’t specify who her friend was. Everyone in the private room naturally assumed Xia You was referring to Li Zhen.
"I don’t make friends easily, so, those who I do consider friends, I treasure dearly." Xia You pushed the chipped glass forward, deepening the cut. Li Hui’s mouth was still bleeding, and now his neck started to bleed as well.
Mo Xixi’s voice was hoarse as she watched Xia You’s actions. The Xia You who had sung karaoke with her was nowhere to be seen. Her gaze shone with a reddish light, those same clear eyes. What kind of person maintains such purity in their eyes while taking a life? Eyes as beautiful as roses, causing blood to burst forth instantly.
"Hurry, find the manager, someone is going to get killed," the chestnut-colored woman screamed as she ran out of the private room. The other "Princesses" dispersed in a panic as well.
"You forced her to do something she didn’t want. That makes me unhappy. When I’m unhappy, I tend to do impulsive things." The glass dug in a little deeper.
Li Hui dared not even swallow, knowing a single movement of his throat could lead to his throat being slashed. Looking down, through the neckline of Xia You’s outfit, he saw a butterfly tattoo sparkling brilliantly. The beautiful tattoo reflected in his eyes like the face of a demon.
His pupils dilated suddenly, his knees gave way, and he knelt on the floor. The terror of impending death flowed from his feet throughout his entire body. (To be continued.
