bChapter /b264

    bCyra /b

After getting our guests settled, I showered and washed my father’s blood off my body. I thought Yorick might join bme/bb, /bbut instead, he and the others began mingling with the pack.

As I walk downstairs, I realize just how lucky I am to have this group of people here, these people who have be family to me. Everyone bof /bthem is here to support me and they’re doing that by getting to know my pack members.

Yorick turns, smiling as he sees me. I finish making my way down the stairs and walk over to him. There’s an excited, nervous benergy /bbin /bbthe /bpack. The intensity of it has heightened since I went to shower.

“Hello beautiful,” he says, wrapping his arm around my waist.

“Hello Lucy, Hello Charles, Hey Charlie,” I say to the pack members that Yorick is talking to. I give a little wave to Charlie who is only three band /bbeing held by his mother. He tucks himself up against her, but he’s grinning at me.

“Hello Alpha. We were getting to know your mate and learning about his family,” Charles says.

I look around seeing that everyone seems to be getting along okay, so I can’t quite figure out what the buzzing is in the pack.

“What’s going on?” I ask Yorick and the others.

“Word of Alpha Christer’s demise and how that came about reached the pack while you were showering,” Yorick tells me.

I refocus on my mate. “It was that bad?”

“You don’t mess with our family, and you certainly don’t threaten one of them. Christer threatened Kennedy, and Quirin made a point of letting everyone know exactly what happens to someone who threatens his mate. He also apparently made sure to give his name and that the pack should spread the word,” Yorick says.

I look around the pack again. “That was fast, even by werewolf gossip standards.”

“Quirin is scary when he’s mad. Think feral animal that escaped from his cage and you’re getting close to what he’s like when someone threatens his family. Thankfully, Dad got him to agree to give the pack a choice and they didn’t fight, so Christer is the only casualty,” he says.

“Besides Sten,” I say, still looking around.

“Sten’s lucky to be alive,” he snarls.

My eyes snap back to Yorick and I lean into him. “I’m not sure he’ll think it’s lucky,” I tell him.

I refocus on Charles and Lucy. “How are you two feeling about everything?”

They look at each other and I can feel the unease inside them. “That was a lot of information to obtain this morning, Alpha. We’re still trying to process that and then to find out that Alpha Christer is also dead, Alpha Sten is in custody, and you were in the middle of all iof /ithat and none of us knew? It’s a lot to take in. But I don’t think anyone will contest you as Alpha. You clearly defeated Alpha Arden,” Charles says.

“They would be foolish to contest my mate. Not only would she defeat them, but where would they go? My brother–in–bw /bbnow /bleads bthe /bnearest pack and would not allow anyone into the pack who went against Cyra,” Yorick says.

“We are sorry for what happened to you, Alpha. We’re d that you found your fated mate and that the two of you are now togetherb,/bb” /bbLucy /b

    says.

    bChapter /bb264/bb. /b

    “bThank /bbyou/bb. /bbI’m /bbvery /bbhappy /bbabout /bbit /bbtoo/bb, /bbI /bsay.

bYorick /bband /bI walk baround /bthe pack together, helping bthe /bpack to feel settled band /bby lunch btime/bb, /bit feels like everyone is ready to and I as btheir /bbco /bAlphas and bAlpha /bWarren as their interim Alpha.

After lunch, the pack goes outside for the Alpha ceremony. Other than setting up a stage and using the ceremonial knife band /bchalice 1. want to make this into some big event. We’re their Alphas now. I don’t need a lot of pomp and circumstance for bthat/bb. /bbAnd /bsince I have no le what the pack’s financial situation is, I’m not going to do anything that might put the pack at risk right away.

bSo/b, Yorick and I stand in front of our pack, with Warren leading the ceremony. We each swear to love, honor, and protect the pack bwith /bbmur /blives and then we both let our blood drip into the cup before we both sip from ourbined blood. Then one by one, beach /bbpack /bbmember /bes up, swearing their loyalty to us.

Once that is done, I switch ces with Warren and I lead his ceremony making him interim Alpha of the pack. The pack goes through the same process again, epting Warren as their interim Alpha.

I noticed that as more pack members epted us, the stronger the pack began to feel. That strength only increased when they pledged themselves to Warren.

Why does the pack feel stronger?” I ask my father–inw in the mind link.

‘You, Yorick, and I are stronger wolves than your father was. The pack feels that. I couldn’t feel it before I stepped into my position, except what I felt through Yorick, but it seemed like the pack members felt the increase in strength when they epted you both. I’m d bto /bbknow /bthat they felt even more strength when I took over as interim Alpha. It will go a long way towards keeping the peace when you’re gone during the week.

‘Do you feel like there is any animosity in the pack?‘ I ask him.

‘No. Confusion and uncertainty, yes, but those are normal when a pack has been overthrown. I felt the same in Christer’s packb. /bOf courseb, /bQuirin’s take over was much more violent than yours.’

By the time we finish with the two ceremonies, it’s already dinner time. I have the warriors pull out the grills and we throw a bunch of meat on them while the omegas prepare side dishes for us to eat. Someone shows Zach where the speakers are and he gets music started. The

atmosphere feels festive and I can feel the pack beginning to settle.

“We’ll need to start work first thing tomorrow, Cyra. We only have a few days before you have to go back to school. As much as possible, bwe /bneed to dig into the pack’s finances so we can make sure that there is nothing we need to handle right away,” Alpha Warren says.

    “I agree,” I say.

“Please tell me I don’t have to be a part of that, Cyra. You know I hate the financial stuffb,/b” Yorick grumbles.

“Why don’t you handle warrior training,” I say, instantly making him perk up.

“I would LOVE to. But you’re not participating until we get you checked. Speaking of that, I asked the doctor if he had any pregnancy tests in the pack hospital. He said he’d drop off a pee test for you to take in the morning. If it’s positive, we can do a blood test afterward.”

“And if it’s not?” I ask him.

“Then we can talk about next steps. While I love the idea of having pups with you, I’m not sure now is the right time. If it has happenedb, /bwe’ll make it work. But if not, maybe we wait until after we’re done with the Academy.”

“You can make it work. Yara and I have. When you love someone, you find a way. And it sounds like the Academy is willing bto /bbwork /bbwith /bbyou/b, Cyra. I doubt you’ll continue with sparring ss if you’re pregnant, but the other sses will be avable for you,” Alpha Warren bsays/b.

“And besides, if you aren’t pregnant, we can use the rest of the school year to practice,” Yorick grins, making bhis /bfather bsnort/b.

    Chapter b264 /b

    bThat’s /bbmy /bbcue /bbto /bbleave /bbWarren /bbsays/bb, /bwalking away bto /bmingle bwith /bbthe /bpack members,

So, we bend /bthe bnight /bbearly/bb. /bThe pack bas /bbtired /bas we bwere/bb, /bbso /bno one grumbled when we cut the music off.

However, once we were back in my room, Yorick’s eyes changed.

“I know that look,” I say to him.

He growls, prowling toward me. “I know you’re tired, I can feel it. I am too. But we never finished our marking and bmating/bb, /band byou /bbdid /bmention something about a virginal bed that needed deflowering.”

“Why Alpha Yorick, are you saying you haven’t put enough of your scent in my bloodstream?” I ask coyly.

“Is Rina satisfied with how little I smell like you?” he asks, his eyes going ck as I pull my dress over my head.

“No, she is not,” Rina growls.

“Neither am I,” Thad growls in response. I’m not sure if it’s Yorick or Thad who rips his shirt offb, /bbut the feral need in him that bI /bfeel pulsing through our bond wipes away any fatigue that I have left.

I lift my head, exposing my mate mark to him. “Come take what’s yours, Alpha,” I purr.

My mate, never a man to waste time or opportunity, spends hours flooding my body with Thad’s venom and his sperm. Rina, not to be outdone, spends those same hours pushing her venom into our mate, the pleasure forcing both of us to ride out the longest, strongest orgasm of my life.

Hourster when we copse beside each other exhausted and spent, my bed fully deflowered, I know that if I wasn’t pregnant before tonight, I definitely am now.
