Cyra

I spent the morning sparring with my cousin. He’s very good and we were able to get to know each other even better while we sparred. Afterward, Yorick and I walked around checking in with the pack and making sure we said hello with everyone that Warren told us could use a

few minutes with us. Then, we had breakfast with my cousin and uncle. Our time in the pack is limited and this weekend it was even more so because my uncle and cousin are here.

“I can see you’ve both got your work cut out for you, spending your weeks at the Academy, and your weekends here while trying tobine two packs into one,” Uncle Ramin says.

“Yes and learning how to be good Alphas to arge pack,” I say.

“Thankfully, my father was willing to step in to help us. He’s already made great strides this past week and we talk to him every night when we’re away so we know what’s going on over here.”

“I would like to apologize again for rushing my judgement about you, Cyra. Being here, seeing what you and Alpha Yorick are doing has shown me just how wrong I was about you. You are a hard worker, like Soraya was. You have a lot of your mother in you and I’m thankful that history isn’t repeating itself. You and your family seem like good people and good leaders, Alpha Yorick. My niece seems very happy.”

Yorick turns to look at me, pulling my hand to his lips for a kiss. “Nothing is more important to me than Cyra. Our pack is a close secondb, /bbut she is the most important person in my life,” he says.

“Yes, we noticed the love that your parents have. They are very outwardly loving. You don’t see that in a lot of mate bonds, even ones where there is true love,” Arman says.

“My father never wanted my mother or anyone else to wonder if he loved her. He raised us, all of us, to be that way. We’re all very open about our love for each other and our mates. I don’t know why people hide it. No one hides their power or strength. My greatest strengthes from my love of Cyra and our mate bond, so why wouldn’t I show the world how much I love and adore this womanb,/b” he says, his eyes never leaving mine.

I smile at my mate, feeling the warmth of his love flow through me.

I get lost in the moment, brought back by Arman clearing his throat.

“Well, we won’t keep you today. We know you have a lot of work to do. But I do hope that we can keep in touch and once you have things settled here, maybe at your graduation from the Academy, we can n to get together again. I’d love for you to meet my mother and sister. Sadiqe is just under eighteen, so a couple of months younger than you are. As I said, we don’t have a lot of family, so I know she’d be excited to meet you and see all the family that you have here,” Arman says.

“I’d really like that. I know it’s not ideal, but we will have our hands full until we finish the Academy, so it would be better to wait. By then, we should have our new packhouse built and you can see all the changes we’ve made to the pack,” I say.

“And, of course, we’ll see you this week in court. Both days,” Uncle Ramin says.

“I doubt my father will be happy to see you,” I say.

Uncle Ramin smiles a menacing smile. “No, he will not. But if he ends up in jail, which is what it sounds like will happen, he will know that while he may have won the battle of keeping my sister away from me, I have won the war by reuniting with her daughter.”

“Just as long as you don’t intend to use my mate as a pawn in any revenge you seek over her father,” Yorick says firmly.

“I believe Cyra has been used enough in her short life. And I am not Arden. I don’t hide behind others. I go on the offensive and attack head- on,” my uncle says.

b“/bbThen /bwe’ll see you bin /bcourt, Yorick says.

bAfter /bbreakfast, Hacker lets us know that he’s going to finishying the cable and start getting the systems connected. bHijack/b, Wendy, and bYana /ball go with him to finish the project while Yorick, Warren, Yara, and I walk Arman and Uncle Ramin back to their cars.

b“/bbIf /byou need any assistance, Alpha Warren, please let me know. I know we didn’t get off to a good start, but Cyra is bmy /bblood band /bI am a retired Alpha as well. I would be happy toe help in any way that’s needed,” my uncle says.

“Thank you very much for the offer. Right now, the biggest issue is making sure these two packs begin assimting. Once we bhave /bone packhouse, that will be much easier, but I’d like that transition to be easy when the timees. So, I’m working to create ways for bthe /bbtwo /bsides to spend time together, work together, y together, and get to know each other,” Warren says.

“That sounds like a great n,” he says. “Oh, and before I forget, this is for you, Cyra. Please do let us know if you’re pregnant, Besides wanting to be a part of your child’s life, I’ll need to send you the other half of your inheritance,” Ramin says, handing me a cashier’s check bfor /btwenty–five million dors.

“That really isn’t necessary,” I tell him and I mean it. We have a n to repay Quirin’s loan. I don’t need the money, although it would bmake /bour lives so much easier.

“As my son reminded me before we arrived and indicated to you, this money is yours by birthright. I’ll admit I wasn’t happy about giving it to you at first, but now that I’ve gotten to know you, I’m very pleased to know that it will go a long way toward helping iyou /irebuild your pack. I also know my sister will rip me to shreds when I see her again in the Moon Goddess‘ realm if I kept this from you. So please, do an old man a favor and take this money. I look forward to visiting you in the future and seeing all the things that having it have allowed you to do bto /bimprove your pack.”

    “Thank you,” I say.

We wave goodbye, then turn to Yara.

“Ready toe take your test?” she asks.

“Yes,” I say, nervous and excited. I can feel that Yorick is as well.

“Can you deposit that tomorrow, Warren?” I ask, giving him the check.

“I will. Do you want me to pay off the loan to Quirin right away?” he asks.

“Yes, but I’d also like to invest like we nned on doing. I know we haven’te up with a number yet, but as soon as we have it, I’d like to start sending that money to him to invest for us. Just because we have money, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t find a way to make more money for the pack,” I say.
