CHAPTER 553: 457 SEEMS LIKE THEY’VE HAD AN ACCIDENT

A big boy took out his cell phone and sent a text message to his parents outside,

"I just saw that idiot Hua Xiuning."

How ridiculous, the daughter of the garrison commander of Xiang City Base is actually this stupid.

While sending the text, the big boy kept his eyes on Hua Xiuning.

Just like the adults said, she looked incredibly pure, such a young lady was either well protected, completely unaware of the malicious hearts in the apocalypse, or she was simply an idiot.

Even children younger than Hua Xiuning wouldn’t have such a clean and naive expression.

A text message popped up on the boy’s phone from his parents,

"Do not act rashly after entering Xiang City Base, wait for our arrangements, all you need to do is get close to Hua Xiuning."

They had to set the stage in advance, now they were only focused on the future. If they wanted to infiltrate Xiang City Base step by step, they had to start planting their pawns now.

This was what Qu Shiheng told them.

The adolescent boy scoffed. They had already reached the age where they had their own ideas and did not care if they had the ability to clean up the mess or not, they just needed to vent their emotions.

Thus, no one took their parents’ words to heart, thinking it was just dealing with a simpleton. Even if a little idiot like Hua Xiuning was bullied, they guessed she wouldn’t have the verbal intelligence to explain things clearly.

During the break, these kids found Hua Xiuning, who was squatting at the edge of a patch of grass.

"Hey, Hua Xiuning, want to come play with us?"

Hua Xiuning didn’t lift her head, her small fingers were steadying a flower that had fallen over.

Boss Gong, who was kicking a ball in the distance, stopped for a moment, then continued to play with the ball at his feet.

This morning when his mother dropped them off at school, she made a point to remind him to stay out of Hua Xiuning’s business unless there was blood.

"Come play with us, little idiot."

Seeing that Hua Xiuning didn’t respond to them, the bigger boys grew bolder.

They were the children of Superpower Users, and now their strength was significantly higher than that of ordinary survivors, showing they had inherited their parents’ excellent genes. They were surely power-type Superpower Users.

In this apocalypse, Superpower Users were increasingly standing out. When faced with ordinary people, they had a natural sense of superiority.

Even though Hua Xiuning was the daughter of Gong Yi and Hua Mi, she was still just an ordinary child in front of them.

Their parents wanted them to befriend Hua Xiuning, to make her dependent on them, but Hua Xiuning ignored them.

So, someone became malicious and reached forward to pull on Hua Xiuning’s braids.

Hua Xiuning, who was squatting, tilted to the side from the pull and sat down on the cement bricks.

She slowly lifted her gaze, with her big, black eyes blankly looking at the boy who had pulled her braid,

"I’m not going."

She expressed herself very clearly, her speech was also very articulate; she didn’t want to play with them.

"What’s that, you idiot? Did you hear me? We want to play with you, come play with us."

The bigger boys, of course, couldn’t accept such a refusal and tugged on Hua Xiuning’s braid, skewing the rope-twist that Mom had fixed for her that morning off to one side.

Hua Xiuning raised her hand to release the boy’s grip, "I’m not going."

She was getting a little angry.

"Why not? It’s so boring staying here by yourself. Come and play with us, you can hang out with us from now on. We’re the boss and you’ll be our little brother."

The big boy continued to pull on Hua Xiuning’s braid, tangling her hair messily.

Hua Xiuning felt the pain as she frowned, pursed her lips, and stubbornly faced the boys without a word.

Someone came up and kicked her, "You silly thing, you silly thing, are you listening to us? Do you understand? Do you know what we’re saying? We want to be friends with you, and from now on you tell others that we’re your friends. You must play with us every day and not with anyone else, got it?"

Another big boy stepped forward, "If you don’t play with us, we’re going to beat you to death. And not just you, but your dad, your mom, and your brother too."

After taking more kicks and threats, Hua Xiuning’s pupils gradually turned a shade of crimson,

"What did you say? Say that again?"

Beneath the feet of the boys, green vines slowly extended from the bushes, entwining around the ankles of the boys.

Yet the boys still failed to notice the danger approaching. They poked Hua Xiuning’s head with their fingers,

"Because you’re a dummy, nobody wants to play with a dummy. From now on, you’ll play with us, you’ll be our punching bag. We’re the boss; we’ll hit you when we want, scold you when we feel like it, and you’re not allowed to tell anyone else, hear me?"

Hua Xiuning asked, "Did you just say that if I don’t play with you, you’ll beat me to death and also kill my dad, mom, and brother?"

Her voice was soft and mushy as she looked at the boys around her with her hair in a disheveled nest.

A boy laughingly patted Hua Xiuning’s head; before he could speak, he felt a stinging on his ankle, as if bitten by a mosquito.

He looked down and to his surprise found his ankles wrapped by green vines.

He attempted to shake off the vines, but they only coiled tighter around him, one even piercing into his ankle like an IV needle.

The boy bent down to pull at the vine, but the more he tugged, the more his ankle hurt. As the vine coloring his skin red, he realized it was sucking his blood.

"Ah, what’s this? What’s this? Teacher, teacher, come quick!"

The boy burst into tears. Some of his mates were still pulling on Hua Xiuning’s hair, others still smacking her head.

Seeing their companion wailing, they tried to move to help him up from where he rolled on the ground.

However, they found they couldn’t walk because their ankles, too, were wrapped in vines.

The vines were sucking their blood as well.

The group of boys surrounding Hua Xiuning began to scream and shout frantically, some even crying out of fright.

Not far away, Qin Jianqiang, who was playing soccer, stopped and glanced over. He looked to Boss Gong,

"They seem to be in trouble."

With a stern look on his pretty little face, Boss Gong replied,

"It’s nothing. My mom said not to bother unless there’s blood. They were just bullying my sister, and she’s only trying to scare them a bit."
