Chapter 172 Sloane Isn’t the Rivers Family’s Daughter
Helen thought it would be simple. She went to the university herself, nning to bring Sloane home under the pretense of a mother reiming her daughter.
“What did you just say, Sloane’s not on campus anymore? Where did she go?” Helen’s face darkened; she looked like she couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
Samson shot her a nce, his tone detached. “Sloane went to ckhawk’s training camp. She’ll be in closed training for the next three months. No one is allowed to disturb her during that time.”
Samson had known about the Rivers family situation, but he hadn’t realized they’d gone so far as to pressure Sloane. It wasn’t until Sloane came to him that he found out just how despicable the Rivers family had be.
So, he’d taken matters into his own hands and arranged for her to enter ckhawk’s training camp, where no one would be able to reach her.
Helen’s face went from pale to flushed in seconds. She never imagined Sloane would run off to ckhawk, let alone go into lockdown training. “Absolutely not. Call them right now and have her brought back.”
Samson stared coldly at her, his voiceced with open sarcasm. “Madam Helen, ckhawk’s training camp is a national–level program. It doesn’t stop just because you say so.”
Helen bristled at his attitude, her voice shrill. “I’m her mother! I have the right to bring her home! Who are you to stop me?”
Samson gave a coldugh, his tone thick with disgust. “Mother? Madam Helen, ask yourself, have you ever fulfilled your duty as a mother? From the time Sloane was a child, you and your family know exactly what you put her through. And now that the Rivers family is in trouble, suddenly you remember her? What a joke.”
Helen was momentarily stunned into silence. Panic flickered across her face before she quickly returned to her aggressive stance. “This is a family matter. It’s not your ce to interfere. Call Sloane back right now, or you’ll regret it.”

Samson didn’t budge. His voice remained calm and cold. “Like I said, it’s a closed training program, no one can get in touch with her. As for your threats, go ahead. Try me.”
Helen was taken aback by Samson’s imposing presence. Deep down, she knew her threats were just empty words. These days, the Rivers family couldn’t even protect themselves, let alone go up against a professor at Stonebridge University.
Left with no other choice, she slunk away from campus in defeat.
Later, Samson told Sloane that Helen hade by and urged her not to worry about anything else, just focus on her training.
“I understand. Thank you, Samson.” Sloane calmly hung up the phonei. /iLooks like irunning /iiaway /iiwas /iithe /iiright /iicall /iiafter /iiall/i.
Just as she was about to head to training, her phone chimed, a new message hade in.
She casually tapped on it. It was from an unfamiliar number.
“Sloane, you’re not the Rivers family’s daughter. If you want to know the truth about who you really are, meet me alone. Otherwise, you’ll never learn the truth.”
Sloane’s pupils contracted as she read the message. It took her a long moment to fully process what she’d just seen.
She knew this could very well be a trap set by Helen. But that was exactly why the message might be true.

Now that she thought back on it, the whole reunion had been suspicious from the start. Helen had epted her just based on rumors of a baby switch, without even requesting
