The officer remainedposed, voice calm yet firm. “Mr. Adrian, we have all the evidence–verified and legally cleared. If you have any concerns, you may address them through proper legal channels during the judicial process. For nowi, /iplease allow us to proceed with our duty.”

Boone, still struggling, clung to Adrian Heng’s arm in panic. “Brother, you have to save me! Please!”

But it was no use.

The officers pulled him away and shoved him into the police car. The doors mmed shut, sealing Boone’s fate for all to see.

Samantha copsed against the luxury car, covering her face with both hands as she broke into loud sobs.

Just moments ago, she’d been basking in glory. Now, the same crowd that once looked on with envy had turned cold–curious stares now twisted with mockery and disdain.

From the crowd, several students who had just asked Boone for autographs began tearing them up, disgust on their faces.

“Top star? He’s a menace ito /isociety. I actually looked up to him. I must’ve been blind.”

“Didn’t she say her brother was the greatest? What happened now, huh?”

“That whole ‘grand entrance‘ earlier? What a joke. This family’s all show, no substance.”

Each jeering word was like a knife to Samantha’s ears. She mped her hands tighter around her head, trying to block them out–but the words kepting. like a cursed echo lodged in her skull.

And not far away. Sloane stood quietly outside the crowd, watching it all unfold.

Because the special admissions exam results were dyed this year, students like her had a postponed start date.

Jill finally broke through the crowd, sweating and breathless. “Sloane, I ifinally /imade it through. I’m dead tired.”

Right behind her came Cameron, dapper as ever. He brushed away the damp strands clinging to his forehead and offered a polite, helpless smile. “It’s way too crowded here.”

Jill flung an arm around Sloane’s shoulders, her face full of concern. “Sloane, you saw that, right?”

“You mean Boone getting hauled off?” Sloane blinked innocently, then nodded. “Yeah. I saw it.”

In fact, she hade ijust /ito see it happen.

“You okay?” Jill asked carefully.

“Me? Fine.” Sloane shrugged. “That’s Samantha’s brother. If anyone should be upset, it’s her.”

Jill grinned mischievously. “Serves her right. She paraded around like a show pony -now she’s a public disaster.”

Cameron frowned a little at the remark, ncing at Sloane. After all, she iwas /ia Rivers too.

But Sloane lookedpletely unfazed. She gave Jill a nudge. “Aren’t you supposed to be registering today? Go on.”

Jill’s smile copsed. “Ugh, don’t remind me. Special admissions results got dyed, and now I’ve gotta check in all alone.”

Cameron coaxed her for a bit until she finally sulked her way toward the school gates. Before leaving, she turned back and waved, her tone extra sincere. “Sloane! I’ll see you on campus. If anything happens, you call me first, got it?”

Sloane nodded with a soft smile, watching her disappear into the crowd.

Once Jill was gone, Cameron turned to Sloane, his expression serious “Sloane, this whole mess with the Rivers family today… I think you should head home.”

The police weren’t just “asking questions.” They had an arrest warrant. Boone’s
