The Red Dragon Just Wants To Do As It Pleases
Chapter 398 - 246: First Ignition (Part 3)
CHAPTER 398: CHAPTER 246: FIRST IGNITION (PART 3)
It surged tumultuously, rising and falling chaotically, like a newborn Mana Energy heart.
David, his eyes and every scale on his body blazing with a dazzling light, instinctively roared towards the sky:
"EENNNNNNGH!!!!!"
A pillar of light, its energy level comparable to Tiamat’s Destruction Flame of old, suddenly pierced the dome of the Tokamak device. It shredded everything in its path, penetrated the several-kilometer-thick shielding structure, and shot straight into the heavens.
"Device meltdown!!!"
As the Tokamak device’s dome melted, the energy input was inevitably cut off.
On the ground, the Blue Dragons who had been gleefully drawing power were all simultaneously blasted away by this chaotic energy. Then, they witnessed a sky-piercing column of light ascend, instantly vaporizing the clouds to reveal a deep crimson circle, like a destructive eye from the Abyss.
"What in the world... is that?" Patricio, his head spinning, stared dumbfounded at whatever had risen from the center of the ancient desert city.
At the same time, he felt as if he had lost connection to something. However, not being a professional Spellcaster, he wasn’t entirely sure what it was.
It wasn’t until a fellow dragon from the same clutch, one afflicted with Magic Addiction, shouted with a bewildered and terrified expression, "M-Magical Net? Is it down?"
Only then did the other Blue Dragons realize, to their horror, what had happened.
The Magical Net here... had been directly severed by that previous blast of fire.
This unprecedented and terrifying event immediately sent the Blue Dragons scattering, much like a bunch of startled blue kittens witnessing their food bowl suddenly short-circuit.
Only Patrice, having just arrived and spread his wings wide, hovered in mid-air. He was like a ’Dean of Discipline’ arriving at an internet cafe to curb students’ internet addiction; he wore a ’composed’ expression, yet seemed somewhat ’at a loss’.
The column of light appeared and dissipated with equal swiftness. Peering through the terrifying, abyss-like hole it left behind, Patrice found his gaze meeting a pair of crimson pupils.
Although those eyes radiated an intense, ’searing’ heat, Patrice, a Legendary Dragon, recalled the earlier ’Dragon’s Roar’ and the breath attack—comparable to legendary ’12th-tier magic’—that had severed the Magical Net.
This creature slumbering beneath the earth...
Could it be an Ancient Giant Dragon? Or even... an unknown Dragon God?
And it had already noticed him.
Patrice swallowed hard and said, "P-p-please forgive us, Ancestor! I will restrain them immediately."
Yes, what if it was an Ancient Blue Dragon?
To his surprise, he actually received a response. "No, let them continue," David commanded.
"Yes!" Patrice was overjoyed.
Could it be that the Olivalyres clan’s ancestors were smiling upon them? And this was the third such blessing in a row! The Olivalyres clan was about to achieve greatness!
The Legendary Blue Dragon departed as if he had received a divine decree.
Deep within the now semi-ruined Tokamak Fortress, Attilicia, the Dragon Father, and a group of Neisser scholars exchanged bewildered glances.
Someone belatedly reported, "First ignition of the Tokamak Fortress."
"Failure."
"First ignition test complete."
Because that ball of solar fire had, strictly speaking, lasted only 0.1 seconds.
Yet it had instantly severed the Magical Net within a two-kilometer radius of the Tokamak Fortress in the Kutaro Desert.
It had terrified and driven off a Legendary Dragon.
This event allowed the Tokamak Fortress to remain standing, its fearsome power now a clear deterrent.
