CHAPTER 415: CHAPTER 253: THE SILENT DECAYED DOMAIN (PART 3)

The Night Dragon had never seen such a trick—a dragon dramatically changing form—let alone into a legendary Red Dragon. Terrified, it abandoned its prey and vanished into the darkness, attempting to flee.

"Damn it!" Christoph knew what was important and immediately pursued at full speed.

Within minutes, Christoph returned, his face contorted with frustration, dragging the Night Dragon, which had already given up struggling.

Christoph still wanted a son-in-law with a ’strong background and promising future.’ If not for that, he would have gladly ignored David, his rebellious descendant, and simply taken off with the Night Dragon.

This Night Dragon was clearly no fool. Seeing that a non-legendary individual like David could command a legendary Red Dragon, it knew better than to act recklessly. "I need to know your purpose so I can cooperate," it stated. "Besides, my territory is filled with only Undead, not the treasures you Chromatic Dragons desire."

"We know you Night Dragons are broke, and we’re not interested in your lair. Take us to the realm of your Dragon God," David said, cutting to the chase.

The Night Dragon’s pupils constricted slightly, yet it responded with surprising cooperation, "Fine. Can you release me first? In the presence of you three dragons, it won’t be easy for me to escape."

David was somewhat surprised. This Night Dragon had seen through his dragon father’s disguise in a single glance—a testament to its long years spent lurking in darkness.

He gave Christoph a meaningful glance. After Christoph released the Night Dragon, David used Magic Messaging to tell both him and his dragon father:

"We need to be cautious. His willingness to cooperate is a bit too convenient, and his reaction was off when I mentioned taking us to the realm of his Dragon God. He’s probably hiding something."

"Should I interrogate him then?" Christoph asked, suddenly annoyed.

"He’s a Night Dragon who has lived here all his life and is adept in necromancy. Do you have that skill?" David questioned.

While both Drow and Succubi were skilled interrogators, David knew his brutish ancestor. It was more likely Christoph had experience being interrogated than conducting interrogations himself.

"Well, I consider myself quite experienced, broadly speaking," Christoph admitted. "Though the specifics are more my wife’s and offspring’s forte."

David thought, Then you can just keep quiet.

But as they were communicating via Magic Messaging, the Night Dragon spoke up:

"You wish to return to your plane through the Teleportation Gate in The Decayed Domain, don’t you?"

"I can take you there, but don’t say I didn’t warn you," the Night Dragon continued. "Half a month ago, an incredibly terrifying disturbance occurred in The Decayed Domain. All the worshipping Night Dragons fled. To this day, the Chains of Faith with my lord Farazur have not been restored, and we still don’t know what truly happened there."

"Are you certain you still want me to lead you there?"

Upon hearing this, David, Christoph, and his dragon father exchanged glances, their hearts filled with shock.

Farazur, the Dragon God of The Decayed Domain, was only a lesser divine power, but he was a Dragon God nonetheless!

What sort of circumstances could have caused a Dragon God to fall into silence?

Could he have been plotted against by the lords of the Abyssal Depths?

What now?

Go, or not go?

But it seemed David and his companions already had their answer.

Neither he nor Christoph, who was eager to return to the evil-scaled castle to report, had much time to waste on such a long journey.

This was the boundless Lower Plane, where the risk of encountering the deadly Blood War was just as lethal.

"Lead the way," David and Christoph said, looking at each other and giving the command.

Then, David said to his dragon father, "Leave a magical signal for Brittany so she can catch up."
