CHAPTER 84: BITE

"Is he that bad?" Sylas’s voice was gentle and mellow.

Violet’s watery eyes locked on him. She raised her hand and touched his cheeks.

Violet then nodded her head aggressively.

"He is really bad. I don’t like him anymore," she loudly expressed.

Then, she pouted her lips. "But he is also nice to me. He takes care of me and solves all the problems for me. Ugh! I don’t want to think of him anymore."

Violet shook her head as if trying to ward off all the thoughts related to Sylas.

"You’re a fool," Sylas commented, "you shouldn’t trust those who are nice to you without a reason. They are out to be the worst."

Violet frowned. She placed her palm on his lips, shutting him up. Sylas’s eyes widened a little in surprise.

She then chided, "You are not allowed to speak bad of him. Got it? Only I can complain."

Sylas stared at her without moving.

The creases between her brows deepened, showing her anger.

The corner of Sylas’s eyes curved up. He nodded.

Her hands then released him. Then, as if reminded of something, she reached out for the bag and took out the camera she bought earlier.

Patting the camera gently, Violet complained, "Do you know how hard it was for me to find this camera? I searched, I searched around the entire city. My legs hurt so much. But then, after searching so, so, so much, I found it."

There was visible shock in Sylas’s eyes when he saw the camera in her hand. He didn’t expect she would go around, trying to find the camera.

"Say, am I nice to him now?" Violet demanded— her voice overbearing.

Unbeknownst to him, Sylas’s eyes softened. The smile in them turned more genuine.

"You are," he replied.

Her voice then quietened, turning more insecure and nervous. "Do you think he will not be mad at me anymore?"

Initially, when Sylas saw that broken camera, he did feel angry and upset. Although he lost his temper at Violet, most of it was directed to himself for not being able to protect the camera.

If he had placed it more carefully, Violet wouldn’t have accidentally broken it.

"He was never mad at you," Sylas vocalized, "it’s his fault for not taking care of the camera."

Instead of being comforted, Violet glared at him.

"How can it be his fault? It was that annoying mouse. Why did it have to enter his room? It’s my fault as well. Why did I leave the door open? Then, nothing would have happened. I want to be nice to him, but I keep messing it all up."

Violet’s eyes then paused on the camera.

In her drunken state, she had a realization. There was a red stripe on the original camera. This one didn’t have it.

Her hands around the camera trembled.

Horror crossed through her hazel eyes.

She mumbled, "This is not the same camera. I couldn’t find the same camera. I couldn’t find it. I couldn’t—"

Sylas noticed her unstable emotions and took the camera from her hand.

Then, he voiced out, "I accepted the camera, so it’s mine now."

Violet’s lips parted slightly. There was unadulterated surprise in her round hazel eyes. She tilted her head slightly— those teary eyes of her narrowing in confusion. She then blinked them.

Slowly, she asked, "Alpha?"

"You finally recognized me?" Sylas arched his brows in amusement.

Violet then extended her hands and pulled Sylas into a tight hug, sticking her body to his. After that, she broke out into tears again.

"Alpha! You’re here to get me! Are you not ignoring me anymore? Are you not mad at me? I am sorry! I didn’t mean to break it! I know your mate gave it to you! But I really didn’t want to break it!"

"There, there, don’t cry anymore. You will get sick if you keep on crying."

After comforting Violet for a while, the girl finally stopped crying.

"Let’s go home now, alright?" Sylas gently proposed, standing up.

Violet sniffed. Her adamant hazel eyes remained on Sylas. She ordered, "Carry me, or else I am not leaving."

"You want me to carry you?"

Violet nodded. "Yeah, or else I will start crying again. Will you carry me or not?"

Sylas silently stared at her for few seconds before giving in to her and turning back. A wide smile finally bloomed on to Violet’s face.

She stood on top of the couch and wrapped her hands around Sylas’s necks securely.

As the scent of the intoxicating mellow grape wine flooded into her senses, she felt satisfied and rubbed her head on his neck.

Sylas maintained his composed pace while walking out of the club with her.

"As expected, this is my favourite scent." Violet slurred her words. "I really like it!"

Then, opening her mouth, she bit on his neck. Sylas’s movement paused for a second, and he sternly ordered, "No biting."

Violet then expressed her dissatisfaction. "I can bite wherever I want! This is mine!"

She tightly clutched on to his neck, showing off her possessive dominance.

Sylas let out a soft chuckle.

"Lucas is right in calling you a Princess," commented Sylas.

Then, a beat later, Violet quietly called, "Alpha."

"What is it?" Sylas patiently replied.

"I know, Luna Julia was really nice and meant a lot to you. I can never replace her. But can’t you like me a little? Please?" Violet’s voice was desperate and begging.

Sylas remained quiet.

Violet’s mood dropped once again.

"Then, you can’t be nice to others? You have to be only nice to me."

"Also, you have to maintain distance with other women and spend most of the time with me."

"And also, also, also, I should be your priority. Alpha, you don’t give me any attention these days. You can’t do that anymore."

The silence from Sylas provoked Violet raise her head high. Then, as if seeking revenge on him, she bit him on top of his ear.

"Violet, you can’t bite others indiscriminately." His time he sounded a little more helpless.

As if to contradict him, she was about to bite him again, but before she could do so, he placed his hand on her back.

Smoothly shifting her position, her body rested in her arms in a princess carry. Caught off guard by the sudden motion, Violet blinked her eyes at him.

After that, she remained quiet. He brought her over to the car and opened the door. He placed on the shotgun seat and was about to put the seatbelt on her when the collar of his shirt was grabbed.

Next instant, he was pulled down, and a pair of lips was pressed on his. Then, a second later, Violet’s teeth inserted into his lips before he was pushed away.

There was a smug expression on Violet’s face.

"I bit you again."

Damian supported the drunk Lydia.

After running around, making noise, she was finally exhausted. He decided to settle her inside one of the rooms before checking on Violet.

Damian felt a little surprised at Lydia’s drunken state. The usually stable and cold woman suddenly had a burst of energy, acting childish and exposing all of her emotions.

Before he was able to carry her to her designated room, Damian felt his shoulder being grabbed and turned.

There was Lucas standing before him, staring at him warily.

"Where are you taking her?" he questioned.

Damian recognized Lucas from the investigation he had done on him. He was also the main target of Lydia’s complaints today— her mate who slept around with other women.

"To a room," Damian answered.

"You!" Lucas’s eyes darkened in anger.

Lucas held on to Lydia’s hand next and yanked her closer to him. Then, raising his other hand, he was about to punch Damian when Damian grabbed his hand.

Damian frowned. "What are you doing?"

"Teaching a lesson to a bastard like you who takes advantage of drunk women. Since your parents couldn’t do it, I am filling in that role for them!" Lucas aggressively voiced out, pulling his hand back.

He was a reckless, hot-headed fellow.

Damian deduced.

"Lucas," Damian enunciated.

"How do you know my name? Are you a stalker?" Lucas questioned.

"I heard a lot about you today from her," Damian spoke out, "nothing good, unfortunately. However, it was enough to conclude your character needs correcting. It’s not polite to hurt a young lady. I advised her to stay away from you."

He was an acquaintance of Lydia?

But Lucas didn’t recognize him.

"Mind your own business, and now, get lost. I will take care of her," Lucas expressed.

Then, Lydia blinked her eyes in confusion. The world in front of her was hazy. She tilted her head, finding a familiar man holding her.

"Lucas?" She recognized after focusing her vision.

Before Lucas could say anything, she stood up straight and instantly pushed him away, catching Lucas by surprise.

"Go away! Don’t touch me!" she exclaimed defensively.
