CHAPTER 64: ANOTHER ONE GOT DEFEATED

BOOM!

The sound explosion of fire ball echo through the street.

Debries fly in differnt direction. A huge webcrack appeared in middle of street. Dark smoke spread in the air.

Amon shielded his eyes with his arm, squinting through the smoke. "Senior, stay alert!"

The man stepped on the edge of rooftop. The night wind brushing agaisnt his face.

Without hesitation he leapt. His body cut through the air, coat fluttering wildly as move in direction of Amon.

Seeing it,

Amon reacted instantly. He move his left hand with his all strength.

Swish!

The hatchet left his hand. It tore through the air with a sharp whistle, spinning like a streak of silver.

Whoosh!

The man twisted mid-air, just barely dodging. The blade grazed his shoulder, leaving a thin line of blood. He landed hard, boots cracking the stone beneath him.

His grin widened, revealing sharp teeth. The long scar that ran from his left eye to his chin made his face look more feral under the moonlight.

"Not bad, kid," he said, voice low and hoarse.

"But not enough."

Amon didn’t respond. His right hand tightened around his sword hilt, and his eyes stayed fixed on the man’s movements. The street was quiet except for the faint crackling of fire nearby from Vixra’s spell.

’Damn! He’s fast. Even the hatchet barely touched him.’

The man vanished. One blink and he was already in front of Amon.

Clang!

Steel clashed against steel as Amon barely blocked the first strike. The force pushed him back a step, pain running up his wrist.

Clang! Clang!

The second and third attacks came faster, wild and ruthless. Sparks scattered with each hit.

"Tch!" Amon gritted his teeth, barely deflecting another slash and kicking forward.

His boot hit the man’s leg, but the enemy didn’t even flinch.

The man countered with a backhand slash that nicked Amon’s arm. Blood spattered onto the ground.

’He’s strong... stronger than I thought.’

Amon stepped back. Already knows that support was there.

Vixra with raised wand. A red magic circle glowed above her wand and flames gathered around her. She swung her wand sharply,

"Fire Lance!"

A blazing spear of fire shot forward, lighting up the street. The man ducked, rolling to the side, but his coat caught fire at the edge. He tore it off and flung it away.

He glared at her. "You’re next."

He lunged toward Vixra, but Amon moved in front of her.

Clang! Their blades met again. This time, Amon didn’t just block, he pushed forward. Yet it was useless. The man was stronger than Amon.

Yet,

The man jumped back, then suddenly reached into his coat and threw three knives.

Amon tilted his head. Somehow he avoid the first knife that grazed his cheek, another hit his shoulder, and the third embedded into his side.

"Ugh-!" He pulled back, wincing. Blood ran down his waist.

"You should’nt have come to this town boy." the man mocked, walking closer.

Amon glared at him. "Shut up."

He raised his left hand. Mana surged, twisting into shape.

"Shadow Clutch."

Black tendrils burst from the ground, grabbing the man’s legs.

"What the-!"

The man slashed down, cutting through the shadows, but it slowed him just enough. Amon used that moment. He lifted his revolver and pulled the trigger.

At the same time multiple arrows made up of wind shot forward with Bullet by Vixra from behind.

Bang!

The first Bullet shot out, glowing faint blue. It hit the man square in the shoulder, making him stagger.

He move faster. Ducking, sidestepping with inhuman speed as avoiding the other bullets and arrows.

BANG!

One of the wind arrow thrust at the man’s thigh. He cried in pain,

"Ahhh-!"

Amon rushed in, ignoring the pain in his side. He swung his sword with all his might. The man tried to parry, his two daggers met Amon’s sword in cross shape, but Amon used his left hand to punch the hilt of his sword, adding more force.

CLANG!

The enemy’s one weapon flew out of his hand.

Amon didn’t stop. He rammed into him, both crashing to the ground. Dust rose as they rolled, each trying to grab the upper hand. Amon’s sword fell on street.

The man’s knee slammed into Amon’s stomach. Amon grunted, blood splashing from his mouth. He caught the man’s wrist before a dagger could stab down and headbutted him.

"Argh!" the man cried, stumbling back.

Amon got to his feet and get away while lifting his fallen weapon, breathing hard. His vision blurred for a second. His whole body hurt, his side burned, and his arm was going numb.

Another spell was shot forward at man.

This time it was not strong one. Just a basic but multiple pure mana bullets shot.

He avoided most of them, but one of it hit at scarred face man’s right shoulder.

Just after that another spell,

Vixra raised her wand again.

"Wind Cutter!"

A sharp blade of air shot forward, slashing across the man’s chest nkt given him chance to run. Blood sprayed, but he still didn’t fall.

He snarled and charged straight toward her, only for Amon to appear in his path again.

Clash! Their weapons met one last time. The man’s strength was brutal, but his movements were slowing. Amon could see it. His breathing was uneven. His wounds were taking a toll.

Time to end it.

The dagger met sword.

Amon, twisting his sword hand and slamming his shoulder into the man’s chest, breaking his stance. Then he raised his revolver with the other hand, pressing it close.

"Fuck you!."

He fired.

BANG!

The Mana Bullet hit the man point-blank in the chest. He stumbled, coughing blood.

Before he could react, Vixra finished her spell.

"Wind Burst!"

A wave of fwind engulfed the man, swallowing his scream. Then his body shot backward in air as it slammed across the wall.

Thudd!

The fight was over.

For a moment, neither of them spoke. The only sounds were Vixra and Amon’s rough breathing.

Vixra lowered her wand and rushed to his side. "Amon! You’re bleeding a lot!"

Vixra knelt beside him, using a bit of wind magic to cool the air and clear the smoke. Her face softened a little. "You took too many hits. You should’ve let me handle him."

"I can’t just stand and watch," Amon replied, closing one eye and then smile.

"Besides we got him, didn’t we?"

’Still can’t believe we got him.’

She sighed. "You’re impossible sometimes."
