The SSS Legendary Dragon Chose Me On Rebirth
Chapter 251: He calls
CHAPTER 251: HE CALLS
"I’ll just have to call them here then," Vacuse said. He didn’t like the idea, though, because if he could call his attendants, then he could also call others.
But what other choice did he have? Walk through the chaotic battle and try to pick out his subordinates that might be fighting at another end of the tunnel?
"What are you going to do?" Yukata asked as he tried to get himself deeper into the shadow of the tent he was hiding in. "Who are you going to call?"
Vacuse didn’t answer him. Instead, he frowned and then raised his hands. Then he clapped. At the same time, he released a blast of void energy that arced up into the air like a firework.
The fighting all around him stopped, and everyone turned to his location. The clap had sounded like thunder, and in the tunnel, it only got amplified.
And the burst of void that followed, the one that cut up into the air like a dark cloud, gripped everyone’s attention. Even those at the far end looked up briefly at the strange power.
To most, even on both sides, the blast of strange energy meant nothing. But for some, their eyes lit up.
Like the hulking man that was fighting his enemy with two flaming swords at the same time. The air around him was filled with scorching heat, and his swords were molten metal, yet he continued to hold them as if they were nothing.
Now and then, fire shaped into swords would appear around him and then shoot forward, exploding as needed. He used his strength to his advantage, swinging each sword attack with all his might and cutting through shields and enchantments as if they weren’t there.
The circle two Magus that fought him moved farther and farther away from him, settling to fight from a distance.
And when the thunder clap sounded and the strange dark energy flowed to the top, he stiffened and his red light flared hotter. Before, he had been fighting in a defensive way, letting the Magus come to him.
But now, Harkon shot forward, carried by an explosion that shoved him from behind. And for the first time in a long time, he laughed. "He’s here! He’s actually here!"
On another side of the battle.
A young man was surrounded by blank-faced humans, and he too did battle. He was surrounded by five blank-faced Magus dressed in different clothes.
Some wore rags, some luxurious robes, while others wore normal clothing. But one thing they all had in common was the fact that their faces were blank, and they followed the command of the young man in the middle who carried a black flute.
They fought as one, their attacks overlapping in a seamless way, and when they hit any enemy, it was like a mountain falling and a sea crushing.
The young man in the middle laughed, even as his face strained from the force of keeping his puppets.
Of course, it was none other than Devour Bandit. And when he too saw the black clouds, he grinned. "I just knew that crazy guy wouldn’t die that easily!"
Yet still, in another part of the battlefield, the place that was less chaotic, three Magus were trying their best to kill a single Soulbearer.
Captain Amros wasn’t holding anything back. With his body covered in metallic silver armor of his making, hundreds of swords and arrows floated alongside him, attacking and defending as he wished.
No matter which attack the three third-circle Magus used, his weapons would form a wall while they burned with silver fire to block such attacks.
And worse still, Captain Amros’s attacks were even stronger than his defense.
So when he saw the black cloud, he relaxed. "He’s here!"
But strangely enough, he did not change his attack pattern to hurry along to his master. Vacuse didn’t teach him that way, but mostly it was because he knew someone was already on the way.
Vacuse didn’t have any idea of all that was happening, nor could he see from his place. What he did see, though, was that some of the Magus fighting broke away and began to dash toward him.
"Are we going to fight?" Lady Slave asked, shifting on her feet, her weapon ready. "And since there’s no reason to keep identity now, I should go all out."
Vacuse himself got ready. Although the Magus coming at him were all in the second stage, he did not underestimate them, even though he thought he could kill them with the least effort.
But he didn’t get the chance to do anything.
The six Magus were so focused on coming at them that they didn’t even notice when one of their own fell, his head suddenly removed from his neck by something nobody could see.
It was so sudden and fast.
By the time they noticed anything, another one of them was dead, his chest crushed by an invisible force.
Vacuse blinked as he heard the snapping sound of another chest breaking. "Is that..."
Before they could react, the six second-circle Magus were dead.
Yukata pressed himself hard against the tent and whimpered. "No! No! Is that some kind of master? I’m sure it’s coming here! We have to get out of here!"
Both Vacuse and Lady Slave ignored him. Lady Slave was calm, and the reason was because Vacuse was calm. "Do you know what’s happening, Red Eyes?"
Vacuse smirked. "Of course."
Lady Slave nodded at that and then waited, and she didn’t have to wait long, as a voice directly in front of them spoke without showing itself or its presence.
"You are welcome back, my lord!"
Lady Slave flinched, and Yukata shuddered.
Vacuse laughed. It was so good to hear a familiar voice that he couldn’t help the happiness that surged through him. "How did you know it was me?"
The voice was silent. Then, "We are both Vorrakyn. Kin knows kin."
Vacuse’s eyes glowed as he heard that. The black faded away, and his red eyes shone. The bulk disappeared, and his true appearance emerged.
