Chapter 518: Chapter 528: Then I Won’t Hold Back

About fifteen or sixteen minutes later, the bedroom door was suddenly pulled open, and Sarah Grandy ran out like a gust of wind, directly rushing to Emily Bailey.

Emily Bailey was startled, noticing that Sarah Grandy was dressed neatly, having not undressed, but at this moment, she didn’t dare to mock Sarah Grandy anymore. She had just realized that her joke went a bit too far. Considering that Sarah Grandy’s parents had passed away only a month ago and her emotions were still unstable, she wondered how she, as a good friend, could be so provocative.

Emily Bailey was already eighteen years old. When she was seriously studying before, her parents were strict, and except for studying, she didn’t look at any random stuff on the computer. But during the time after high school graduation, she happened to see similar films and knew what the stuff in Sarah Grandy’s mouth was.

Sarah Grandy immediately nodded and proudly lifted her head, but her tongue hadn’t retracted.

“Ah, you’re disgusting,” Emily Bailey’s lips twitched, urgently saying, “Alright, I believe you, I really believe you.”

Only then did Sarah Grandy satisfactorily close her mouth and clicked her lips, then went on to get a cup of water and took a few sips.

Emily Bailey was dumbfounded, looking at Sarah Grandy for quite a while before saying, “You… you really ate it?”

Sarah Grandy replied proudly, “Yeah, I ate it. Don’t you know a drop of essence equals ten drops of blood? This is good stuff, why waste it?”

Emily Bailey grinned, shaking her head repeatedly, “You really are insane, you believe those things?”

Sarah Grandy chuckled, saying, “Of course I don’t believe it. I know it’s just proteins or something, but men, they like this kind of thing. I ate it, and the uncle is satisfied, so I ate it. Besides, it’s not something nasty. If you fall in love with someone, you’d willingly eat it up. Never mind, never mind, talking to a child like you, you wouldn’t understand.”

Sarah Grandy waved her hand, really acting like an adult talking to a child.

“Alright, alright, you’re the adult, I’m the child, is that good enough for you?” Emily Bailey was truly convinced now.

James Brown came out dawdling, not daring to meet Emily Bailey’s eyes, even though Emily Bailey didn’t see what Sarah Grandy did with him directly, but Sarah Grandy running out to show off was almost like doing it right in front of Emily Bailey, especially since Emily Bailey was Melody Yoody’s cousin, which made James Brown even more embarrassed.

Luckily, Emily Bailey was also embarrassed now, and not jokingly teasing James Brown like she did in the past few days. Only Sarah Grandy remained proud, holding James Brown’s arm, chattering non-stop with Emily Bailey.

At noon, he took the two of them to KFC Region to eat. Sarah Grandy was even more excited, and James Brown soon grew thick-skinned, no longer awkward. But when the ice cream arrived, Emily Bailey looked at the cream on top and stuck out her tongue, refusing to eat it at all.

This made James Brown suddenly awkward, utterly embarrassed, while Sarah Grandy laughed proudly, constantly persuading Emily Bailey to eat, which made Emily Bailey’s face turn red, eventually collapsing and fleeing in despair.

After Emily Bailey left, James Brown sent Sarah Grandy back to his and Gina Lopez’s home, then returned to the company.

Sitting down for merely a short while, he received a call from old classmate David Johnson, inviting him to dinner tomorrow evening. James Brown cheerfully accepted. He had only met with these old classmates during a class reunion and a wedding and hadn’t gathered with them since.

James Brown cherishes the old relationships with classmates quite a lot, as the feelings from those times were pure, without any interests involved. It’s similar to the bond shared between comrades, and maintaining such friendships is quite a wonderful thing.

The afternoon at the company held no special issues, especially for the security department, until the end of the workday.

James Brown also knew about Melody Yoody’s dinner invitation tonight. Recently, Gina Lopez and Melody Yoody had a good relationship, and since everything was already discussed openly, he wasn’t worried about any issues arising between them.

However, the final decision for the dinner venue turned out to be Gina Lopez’s home, making James Brown smile wryly. Was it Melody Yoody’s treat or his and Gina Lopez’s invitation for dinner?

Since they were having dinner at home, James Brown couldn’t remain idle. After fetching his daughter and Emily Lopez back home, he began purchasing groceries and preparing. Shortly after, Melody Yoody and Gina Lopez returned together.

“Honey, originally Melody wanted to treat us to a feast outside, but I felt that the food outside wasn’t necessarily better than what you’d make, so we decided to eat at home. It’s going to be hard on you,”

Gina Lopez entered with a laugh, apologizing to James Brown.

James Brown smiled, saying, “Eating at home is clean, and everyone is comfortable, not constrained like eating outside.” He said this while looking at Melody Yoody.

Melody Yoody playfully glanced at John Brown, saying, “You’re something! You still have this skill? I’ve been seeing you for so long, and I’ve never tasted your cooking. Being a wife and not being a wife are indeed different.”

John Brown chuckled awkwardly and said, “I didn’t know how to cook before, and never had the chance when I got back. Come in and sit down; dinner will be ready in an hour, and I’ll show you my skills.”

Gina Lopez smiled and invited Melody Yoody to sit in the living room. Grace Lopez and Sarah Grandy also came out. Both no longer had much hostility towards Melody Yoody, since last time dealing with Emily Berns, Gina Lopez and Melody Yoody were on the same side, comrades in the same trench.

Little Violet ran out excitedly, saying, “Mom, Mom, I got another Red Little Flower today!”

“Such a good girl. Looks like we need to take you to the beach this weekend.” Gina Lopez immediately pulled Little Violet onto her lap.

“Oh yeah!” Little Violet shouted excitedly and hugged Gina Lopez’s neck, giving her a smack on the cheek.

Seeing the good relationship between Gina Lopez and Little Violet, Melody Yoody was a bit surprised and said, “Gina, you’re so close to the child already?”

Gina Lopez gave a slight smile and said, “I regard Violet as my own daughter.”

“That’s admirable; I have to give you a thumbs up for that.” Melody Yoody sincerely gave Gina Lopez a thumbs up.

Gina Lopez smiled slightly and said, “I have no choice, since she’s James’s child, I can’t ignore her. By the way, after you give birth, would you like me to help take care too?”

Melody Yoody touched her belly and said, “You, such a busy boss, how could I let you take care? Besides, I’m not as heartless as Emily Berns, it’s better to take care of my own child myself.”

“Haha, you can’t do it all by yourself; fathers have to take responsibility too. I certainly won’t back down; we’ll do it together.”

Melody Yoody knew well that Gina Lopez’s words were still declaring John Brown’s belonging, but what Gina said left her without a counter, so she laughed and said, “You’re really generous. You’ll also want children sooner or later, and when you do, I’ll help you too.”

Gina Lopez laughed, “It’d be an honor to have a county chief like you, haha, or maybe by then you’ll be the mayor, helping with our children. The kid will be truly honored.”

The two spoke amicably, without any sharp disagreements, yet there was always a bit of probing and sparring between them.

Melody Yoody stood up and said, “Do you mind if I take a tour of your home?”

“Sure, come on.” Gina Lopez led Melody Yoody first to her and John Brown’s bedroom, saying, “This is James’s and my bedroom.”

Melody Yoody looked at the room, feeling a bit bitter. She hadn’t shared a separate bedroom with John Brown yet, and just that made her quite envious. However, she showed nothing on her face and said with a smile, “It seems like something’s missing here, it doesn’t really look like a new bedroom.”

“Haha, James and I haven’t had our wedding yet, so a lot of things aren’t prepared. We’ll talk about it later.”

They moved to another bedroom, Gina Lopez said, “This was originally Sandra’s room, now it’s where Little Violet and Charlotte stay.”

“Where’s Sandra then?”

“Sandra’s been staying on the sofa lately, haha. Now this place feels a bit small. In a few days, I’ll look for a more spacious one. Violet needs her own room, and I can’t let Sandra keep sleeping on the sofa either.”

Melody Yoody blinked and whispered, “You stay with James every day, doesn’t the little girl have any objections?”

Gina Lopez knew Melody was referring to Sarah Grandy, chuckled softly, “Charlotte is quite good; she’s doing well here.”

“Hey, are you playing dumb with me? You know the little girl has feelings for James, and she’s always bold. Doesn’t she insist on staying with James? What, is it inconvenient to tell me such things?”

Gina Lopez blushed slightly. Private conversations like this were indeed hard to put into words, but thinking of Melody Yoody also having had a relationship with John Brown, she openly said, “What’s inconvenient? As long as they’re not overt in front of me, I don’t interfere.”

Melody Yoody gave a thumbs up, “You’re really open-minded. So if I am a bit bold later, you won’t mind, right?”

Gina Lopez felt a bit uneasy at these words but still laughed, “As long as you’re okay with it, I have no objections.”

Melody Yoody laughed heartily, “Then I won’t be polite.”
