The Time-Limited Love and Marriage
Chapter 298
CHAPTER 298: CHAPTER 298
On the other side, Fu Youhan arrived at Tianqin Bay with Jiang Moxi.
After returning home, Jiang Moxi picked up her loungewear, ready to take a bath.
She had been running around all day and just wanted to soak in a bath, then lay down in a dry, warm bed for a good rest.
But as Jiang Moxi was about to step into the bathroom, she saw Fu Youhan had taken off his suit jacket and was standing in his black shirt and trousers, blocking the bathroom door.
"Are you going to take a shower first?" Jiang Moxi asked.
"No, I just want to help you," Fu Youhan said, looking down at Jiang Moxi, his dark eyes full of aggression.
Jiang Moxi chuckled awkwardly: "No need."
Allowing Fu Youhan to help her bathe, she worried it would take until dawn to get out of the bathroom, let alone lie down for a good rest.
After speaking, Jiang Moxi tried to bypass Fu Youhan and enter the bathroom, but he scooped her up by the waist.
Just by the tips of her toes, Jiang Moxi could guess what this man intended to do by forcefully carrying her away.
Blushing and irritated, she kicked her legs about, "I said I don’t need your help!"
Still, Fu Youhan carried her into the bathroom: "I’ve fed you, now it’s your turn to feed me..."
Just as Jiang Moxi had anticipated, by the time the two emerged from the bathroom, the sky was already showing the first light of dawn.
Jiang Moxi cursed a few times, but as soon as her head hit the pillow, she fell into a deep sleep.
Fu Youhan gently caressed Jiang Moxi’s still blushing cheek, feeling incredibly content.
Thinking to himself that continuing this way of life with Jiang Moxi wouldn’t be so bad.
But at that moment, he received a message...
*
After a night of indulgence, Jiang Moxi woke up with her legs and arms both feeling out of sorts.
Seeing Jiang Moxi’s pitiful state, Fu Youhan suggested: "How about taking a day off?"
Jiang Moxi refused: "I don’t have enough credits. If there are more issues with attendance, I won’t be able to get my diploma."
She had persisted for two years, and her diploma was within reach; she didn’t want to encounter any hitches now.
In the end, Fu Youhan had no choice but to let her go to school because he had some matters to attend to as well.
When Jiang Moxi returned to school, just as she thought about catching up on some sleep, Ling Ye found her in class and told her a secret.
"Huahua is in a relationship!"
Laying on her desk, Jiang Moxi responded languidly: "Oh, that’s good news."
Actually, Ling Hua had been secretly texting recently, even during tutoring sessions, so Jiang Moxi had her suspicions.
However, since Ling Hua hadn’t told her directly, Jiang Moxi didn’t pry. After all, it was Ling Hua’s privacy, and it hadn’t affected her grades anyway.
It was unexpected that Ling Ye would be the first to dig this information up.
"Did you know? For her boyfriend’s sake, she’s even giving up seeing Cang Ming’s concert, the male singer she used to adore the most."
Ling Ye’s very puzzled tone made Jiang Moxi utterly bewildered.
"You’re against your sister dating? She’s already eighteen and capable of making her own decisions. As long as she’s not doing anything too outrageous, don’t interfere with her freedom."
Ling Hua, even if she had recently started dating, hadn’t let it affect her grades, so Jiang Moxi also felt it wasn’t such a bad thing.
But Ling Ye told Jiang Moxi, "It’s not that I don’t let her date, I’m just afraid she’ll suffer if she dates such a stingy boyfriend."
"Stingy boyfriend?"
After Jiang Moxi asked in detail, she found out that Ling Hua’s recent boyfriend was Xue Junyi from the Technical College.
As for why Ling Ye thought Xue Junyi was stingy, it’s because Ling Hua had always wanted to attend male star Cang Ming’s concert, and when Cang Ming finally held a concert in Yan City, Ling Hua wanted to invite Xue Junyi to go with her.
But Xue Junyi said that since he was still a student, he couldn’t spend money on such impractical things, and asked Ling Hua to wait for him to earn some money first, then he would take her to the concert.
Then Ling Hua really accepted Xue Junyi’s reasoning and even refused the VIP concert tickets that Ling Ye had snagged for her, saying she would rather wait and go with Xue Junyi.
Hearing this, Jiang Moxi, summoning the strength in her weary body, teased Ling Ye.
"Isn’t that a good thing? Xue Junyi knows how to be thrifty and strive for better. Ling Hua also cherishes this relationship. Could it be that you can’t stand to see Ling Hua relying on another guy?"
Ling Ye, looking dejected, admitted, "I confess a part of it is indeed because I feel like Huahua has suddenly grown up and no longer depends on me for everything. I feel a strange emptiness inside. But more than that, I feel like Xue Junyi doesn’t really like her."
Jiang Moxi sort of understood this feeling of Ling Ye’s.
Actually, Ling Ye’s feelings for Ling Hua were not as simple as sibling affection.
Their parents had divorced while they were very young, and each went on to fight for their own careers.
With the parents being away from home all year round, Ling Ye had to act both as a brother and a parent in raising Ling Hua.
Now that Ling Hua had started dating and was no longer clinging to Ling Ye as she used to, he felt somewhat lost.
But regarding Xue Junyi’s feelings for Ling Hua, Jiang Moxi couldn’t really judge, so she could only ask Ling Ye, "How can you tell Xue Junyi doesn’t like Ling Hua much?"
Ling Ye said, "A man, when he likes a woman, would want to spend all his money on her. But this Xue Junyi guy, he won’t even buy Huahua a concert ticket; how can you say he likes her."
Jiang Moxi thought about how Ling Ye always earnestly advised her to stop fantasizing about Fu Youhan, saying that she and Fu Youhan were an absolute impossibility, and couldn’t help but tease Ling Ye.
"You’ve never been in love yourself, how would you know what liking someone is like?"
"I’ve never eaten pork, but does that mean I’ve never seen a pig run? Anyway, my intuition tells me that Xue Junyi’s reluctance to buy Huahua a concert ticket and just offering her empty promises, is definitely not true love. I’m telling you this so you can persuade Huahua, to prevent her from falling too deep."
"I think your definition of love is too narrow."
Jiang Moxi recalled her interactions with Fu Youhan; their material exchanges weren’t much. Aside from buying her a few clothes, Fu Youhan occasionally gave her some pretty cups.
But Jiang Moxi could feel that Fu Youhan still liked her a bit, considering how he couldn’t keep his hands off her every night...
Worried that thinking further would bring back some R-rated scenes, Jiang Moxi quickly skipped over this topic.
"Alright, I’m going to sleep. You should go back to where you came from."
Ling Ye still wanted to say something, but Jiang Moxi shook her fist.
Knowing that his fists weren’t as hard as Jiang Moxi’s, Ling Ye could only leave, carrying his bellyful of grumbling...
What Jiang Moxi didn’t expect was that right after Ling Ye had left, Mu Wanting began pestering her.
"Moxi Moxi, come watch Cang Ming’s concert with me tonight. The person who was supposed to come with me really can’t make it, and it would be great if you could keep me company."
Thinking of Ling Hua, Jiang Moxi lay on the table like a dead fish, speaking in aggrieved tones, "I can introduce you to someone who also likes Cang Ming, and she can go with you. You’ll have more to talk about."
But Mu Wanting insisted, "That won’t work. I have social difficulties, and I just want to go with you. Please..."
After much cajoling from Mu Wanting, Jiang Moxi finally agreed, "If you don’t bother me and let me sleep properly, I’ll go with you tonight."
And so, Mu Wanting became quiet, and Jiang Moxi could finally sleep as she wished.
Jiang Moxi slept quite well, so that night, she accompanied Mu Wanting to the concert.
But Jiang Moxi never imagined that at the concert, she would bump into someone...
