CHAPTER 1394: CHAPTER 1317: IT’S NOT LIKE WE HAVEN’T DONE IT BEFORE
Luo Qi no longer hesitated and strode in after Ah Chuan, lifting her chin, trying to muster a commanding presence: "What do you want, just say it."
Ah Chuan’s gaze grew even deeper as he looked at her: "Isn’t it clear what I really want, Xiao Qi?"
Luo Qi put down her bag, took off her coat, and walked over to Ah Chuan. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, stood on tiptoes, her lips close to his chin, ready to kiss him should he lower his head.
"Is it just about sleeping together? How many times do you want? Just say it, why bother with all this trouble? It’s not like we haven’t done this before?"
Ah Chuan’s pupils contracted as he stepped back slightly, pinching her chin: "Is that really what you think?"
He thought his true intentions were clear to her, but to his surprise, after doing so much, this was the response he got.
"What else should I think? Is it just because I don’t want you, your overbearing ego can’t take it? If you aren’t done playing with this body, then keep at it, but leave Lin Yan out of this," Luo Qi sneered coldly.
"Do you really like him that much?" To the point of selling yourself? Ah Chuan just couldn’t bring himself to say the last part aloud.
"Yes," Luo Qi replied without hesitation, shattering the last bit of hope Ah Chuan had.
He scooped her up and headed towards the bedroom, laying her on the bed: "I want to see if, after today, you can still be with him."
"And you think I would end up with you?" Luo Qi scoffed: "Go ahead and ruin me, I don’t care, I’ll just think of it as being bitten by a dog."
Luo Qi spoke resolutely, her eyes filled with despair, those dim eyes like the fields in late autumn, void of any trace of life.
Ah Chuan’s hands, undressing her, paused, his face clouded with defeat: "What do I need to do to make you come back to me?"
"It’s impossible, never in this lifetime," Luo Qi gritted her teeth.
She had held a shred of feeling for him, thinking that even if they could not be friends, they could nod to each other when passing by, and smile it away.
But now he was pushing her to a dead end, the hatred boiling inside Luo Qi with nowhere to vent.
"I want to marry you. Didn’t you say before that you would marry me? Let’s go get the certificate tomorrow, shall we? And then we’ll have a wedding ceremony."
Before? Luo Qi’s red lips curled slightly: "I’m most soft-hearted, but do you know why I’m so hard-hearted with you alone?"
"Because my mother is gone. Although you didn’t kill her directly, you’re indirectly involved. I don’t hate you, because you never loved me, but I can’t be without resentment toward you," Luo Qi said with an empty gaze at Ah Chuan: "And now you bring up the past, don’t you find it ironic?"
Does he really need her to remind him how unbearable that memory is?
His mere presence reminds her incessantly of that incident; her mother doesn’t blame her, yet she can’t forgive herself.
If she hadn’t indulged after drinking, if she hadn’t harbored illusions about him, she might still be alive, instead of being infuriated to death.
But as her daughter, she couldn’t do anything, not even sure who to direct her anger at.
If she wasn’t hardhearted toward him, she feared her mother would know from the grave and return as a ghost to seek her out.
How could she be with him again? And how could she accept him?
Ah Chuan got up from Luo Qi: "I never force anyone."
"Leave Lin Yan alone," Luo Qi chased after him as he walked out.
Ah Chuan handed her bag to her: "Go ahead, when you’re ready to marry me, come look for me."
