CHAPTER 1506: CHAPTER 1428: WHO MADE THE MOVE
If these words had come out of Ye Ranran’s mouth, they wouldn’t have hit so hard, but coming from someone she liked, the damage was undeniably immense.
Sun Yi could no longer face Fu Rong’s mocking gaze—she fled in desperation.
Ye Ranran swept her alert gaze to the side. Her cold eyes and piercing brows scattered the surrounding crowd like retreating tides.
After returning to the office area, Ye Ranran followed Fu Rong to his office.
"I don’t think what you did just now was very appropriate," she stated bluntly.
"Oh?" Fu Rong raised his brow.
"Since you’ve been acting for so long, why not keep it up? Whatever the outcome, you need to wait until you’ve reached the position you want and solidify it first before making a move."
"Weren’t you the one who said it? That climbing up by relying on women is illegitimate and disgraceful," Fu Rong replied, turning on his computer.
Ye Ranran: "..." Why hadn’t she known earlier that he listened so obediently?
"So, what’s your plan for this matter?"
"As a secretary, I shouldn’t have to tell you how to deal with it, right? Just figure out a way to get rid of her, isn’t that simple?"
Initially, this kind of task was indeed something Ye Ranran handled, but after her promotion, she had passed it on to Lan Yu.
Considering that Sun Yi didn’t want to see her and would likely be provoked if she did, Ye Ranran decided it was best to leave this matter to Lan Yu—even though her own status was somewhat unusual.
Just as she walked out of the office, Lan Yu stood up from behind her desk. "Sister Cai! Something terrible happened—Sun Yi’s car exploded!"
Ye Ranran felt as though someone had taken a hammer and struck her head with terrifying force.
"What happened?" How could something like this happen out of nowhere?
"It was on the road—a leak in the car caused an explosion," Lan Yu explained hastily.
Ye Ranran turned around and headed back into Fu Rong’s office. "Find out which hospital she’s in, and let’s go and take a look immediately."
Having just had a disagreement moments ago, and now with this accident, Ye Ranran’s head throbbed painfully.
She explained the situation to Fu Rong, whose expression darkened. "You go check on her while I investigate who’s behind this."
"Alright, I’ll head out now."
"Be careful," he cautioned as she reached the door.
Ye Ranran felt nothing in her heart anymore. At this stage, she only regarded him as her superior, refusing to expect anything, nor think too much about it.
"Understood." Without turning her head or stopping her stride, she replied.
On the way, Lan Yu guessed, "Sister Cai, who do you think is behind this?"
Having overheard the gossip downstairs earlier, she faintly felt that this was targeting Ye Ranran.
Otherwise, how could things in this world be such a coincidence? The accident occurred shortly after she left.
"Without concrete evidence, don’t speculate wildly," Ye Ranran said, gripping the steering wheel and staring ahead, her tone even and unmoved.
Lan Yu admired her calm demeanor—at a moment like this, she could still remain so composed.
After arriving at the hospital, Ye Ranran inquired about Sun Yi’s surgery room and rushed to the entrance.
The hallway was empty—it seemed her parents were still on the way.
She had just stopped, but footsteps shuffled messily behind her.
Suddenly, a swarm of reporters approached, carrying cameras and microphones, closing in rapidly.
Frightened by the overwhelming scene, Lan Yu instinctively moved closer to Ye Ranran.
"Secretary Wen, you arrived promptly—is this accident related to you or Commander Fu Rong in any way?"
"Secretary Wen, it’s said that Miss Sun had a dispute with you before the accident—can you tell us what the altercation was about?"
"Secretary Wen..."
"Secretary Wen..."
