The Undercover Heir is Actually Tycoon's Secret Girlfriend
Chapter 61: Close
CHAPTER 61: CHAPTER 61: CLOSE
"I sent you a WeChat."
The young man’s tone was calm, with little emotion.
Then, she tried to withdraw her fingers, which were hooked by the man, but failed.
"Hmm?"
Bai Su leaned in and became the dominant one, pressing her cold white jade-like hand against the armrest, slowly clasping it with his palm. His peach blossom eyes locked onto the boy’s fox eyes, smiling gently and indulgently, "Sorry, I didn’t see it."
"Whether you saw it or not," Rong Zhi felt the warmth belonging to another person on the back of her hand, dry and warm. She wasn’t quite accustomed to it, her brows furrowed slightly, "Let go."
Bai Su chuckled lightly, taking advantage and then withdrawing his hand.
He figured it’s best not to provoke the young man too much, lest it blast him.
The mingled scent of lightness and mint tobacco drifted away, and only then did Rong Zhi slowly relax her features.
"The old man sent you?" She tossed her phone aside, causing the pen on the desk to hit the edge.
Bai Su rubbed his palm leisurely and replied, "Hmm," "He told me you moved out of the villa and asked me to find you. The location for the upcoming lessons is up to you."
He hooked his lips, pinched his nose inconspicuously, as if smelling faint wood and agarwood.
"Lessons, huh." Rong Zhi dragged her tone, lazily, lightly, and slowly. Suddenly, she curled her lips, quickly picked up the pen by the table, clamped it between two fingers, and suddenly stabbed it towards Bai Su.
The pen tip shot straight at Bai Su’s face.
He raised his eyebrows, his body unmoving, his peach blossom eyes quietly gazing at Rong Zhi’s face, the water deep in his eyes shimmering, gentle yet indulgent.
"Bang—"
The pen fell to the ground, directly breaking into two halves.
Bai Su’s cheek faintly ached, a few strands of hair drifted from his eyes. He squinted, pulled his lips into a low chuckle, with an unclear meaning.
"Is the young gentleman satisfied?" He narrowed his brows, his tongue pressing against his lip corner, biting with a careless tone.
"Bai Su," Rong Zhi glanced at the newly appeared blood marks on his handsome and charming face, and her heart flashed with impatience, "Are you stupid, can’t you dodge?"
If she had been just a tad more precise, that pen would have pierced his throat!
Is he really fearless, or betting she won’t go all out?
Either way, it both annoyed her greatly.
"Ah," Bai Su’s gaze paused, pitifully moving closer to Rong Zhi, extremely aggrieved, "I can’t, will the young gentleman teach me?"
Rong Zhi: "..."
You’re not ashamed at your age?
After teasing the youth enough, Bai Su set aside his playful demeanor and said seriously, "My face is hurt, it hurts."
He was reasonable, with a solemn tone that made Rong Zhi want to act up but unable to.
Pressing her lips, she got up, rummaged through the cabinet but couldn’t find any bandaids or alcohol, so she went out to the nurse station to ask for some. The nurse thought she looked good, so she gave her half a box.
Rong Zhi returned, intending to throw the things to Bai Su, but the man moved his fingers pretentiously, opened his mouth without shame, "I got scared by the young gentleman, now I’m too weak."
Rong Zhi: "..."
Who the hell spoiled him?!
But remembering the injury was her doing, and the incident at the music hall last time where she accidentally used him, Rong Zhi forcefully suppressed her discomfort, treating him like a brat of Rong Jiazze’s age, indifferently tending to his wound.
Bai Su was half a head taller than her, this height was just perfect for reaching his injury.
Rong Zhi opened the alcohol to disinfect him, "Tell me if it hurts."
Although she was impatient inside, her movements were pretty gentle.
Bai Su felt it.
He lowered his eyes, his long thick eyelashes trembled, the smile in his eyes deepening.
The young gentleman didn’t actually want him to hurt.
Tsk.
Rong Zhi pressed a bandaid on the wound, quickly pulled away from him, her nose twitched at the strengthened mingled scent.
It was as if Bai Su’s and her breath interwined.
Rong Zhi’s finger stiffened, promptly suppressing the disordered thoughts.
What was she thinking?
She collected her mood, lifted her head, then inadvertently collided with a pair of eyes, shrouded in vague ambiguity. The man’s gaze was wantonly gentle, making her heart involuntarily skip a beat.
Rong Zhi: "..."
Bai Su blinked, spoke softly, "Is the young gentleman’s gaze wanting to tear me apart?"
Rong Zhi couldn’t be bothered with him, her sight traced over the unsightly bandaid on his face, she returned to her seat, supported her chin, her voice thin and cold, "Take the day off, you can go."
After speaking, she yawned casually, her expression languid.
Bai Su naturally pulled a chair to sit beside her, his two long legs intertwined, glanced at the hospital bed, then at Rong Zhi, "Going back is boring, I’ll stay here and check with you on Auntie."
Rong Zhi paused, "My mom hardly knows you."
"Won’t it be familiar for a while?" Bai Su laughed calmly, "I just saw Auntie earlier, she’s really pretty."
"What do you mean?"
Facing Rong Zhi’s gaze that truly seemed intent on tearing him apart, Bai Su took out a thumb-sized diamond-shaped stone from his coat pocket, "Hold it, and look above Auntie’s hospital bed."
Rong Zhi pressed her lips together silently for a while, hesitantly picking up the stone from his palm.
"Close your eyes."
She furrowed her brows, but with concerns related to He Songzhi, moreover convinced Bai Su wouldn’t harm her, she slowly closed her eyes.
A cool touch landed on her forehead, Rong Zhi’s grip on the stone tightened.
"Alright, open your eyes."
Her eyes opened suddenly.
She saw that the hospital room was still the same, but inside, there were things that shouldn’t exist.
Above He Songzhi’s bed, hovered a transparent figure so faint it seemed to merge into the air, moving directionlessly, unable to find a place.
Rong Zhi’s body froze, her mouth opened, murmuring voicelessly.
"...What is going on?"
Bai Su’s hand moved meaninglessly through the air twice, yet that transparent figure became clearer.
"This is one of Auntie’s three souls. I heard from Rong Fengmian that Auntie’s illness is due to her subconscious rejecting awakening?" he asked.
Rong Zhi nodded.
"It’s actually not," Bai Su said, "It’s because of losing a soul, leading to such conditions. Some vegetative states are similar, rare occurrences but not unheard of."
Because some things cannot be explained by science, it’s not advocating feudal superstition, Bai Su himself believes in science, but his education from childhood differs from the norm, respecting science while also fearing the divine.
Rong Zhi remained silent for a long time.
Lowering her gaze, she twisted the stone that allowed her to see unusual things, refraining from asking about its origin. Instead, she asked hoarsely, "Is there a way... to wake her?"
"Bai Su, if you can wake her, no matter what you want from me, I’ll agree."
She’s always been someone who honors her promises without fail.
Bai Su understood her temperament from their interactions; her willingness to compromise spoke volumes about how significant He Songzhi was to her.
She was kind to Rong Fengmian out of duty, but towards He Songzhi, it was unconditional and unlimited protection.
Bai Su had a grasp of the situation, did not string her along, and said directly, "I can, but I need time to prepare the tools, if possible, half a day."
