The Undercover Heir is Actually Tycoon's Secret Girlfriend
Chapter 73: Danger
CHAPTER 73: CHAPTER 73: DANGER
Beijing Criminal Police Headquarters.
In the interrogation room, there was a table and two chairs. Each of the four corners had a camera. Just on the other side of the wall, Sheng Zizhao was observing the quiet boy sitting inside through a coated one-way glass.
The boy lowered his brows as he played with his phone, and since he was crucial in helping catch the child traffickers, they couldn’t actually detain him.
Sheng Zizhao’s gaze shifted from the boy’s brows to her right hand playing with the phone, still smeared with blood. The boy hadn’t cleaned or washed it, making it particularly striking against her cold white skin.
"Give me a pack of wet wipes. Have you searched everything in her bag?" Sheng Zizhao said.
Chen Qi handed him a pack of wet wipes, "Yes, apart from books there are just a pile of candies, nothing suspicious."
Sheng Zizhao was puzzled, "Books?"
Chen Qi nodded, "Yes, they appear to be third year high school textbooks."
Sheng Zizhao fell silent.
Just in her third year of high school and capable of such violence, could there be a problem with her mental state?
Sheng Zizhao tagged her as a ’dangerous person’ and pushed open the door to the interrogation room.
Rong Zhi had just finished messaging Shen Luoluo about arriving late when a call came through before she could turn off the screen.
She glanced up at the incoming criminal police officer and answered the call, lowering her brows.
"Where are you now? Mr. Bai said he couldn’t find you at school and you didn’t reply to his messages. Are you busy?" On the other end, He Songzhi asked softly.
Rong Zhi leaned lazily against the chair back with a casual demeanor, as if she were at home, replying slowly, "Busy. Why is he looking for me?"
"Mr. Bai wanted to attend the afternoon music assessment with you and planned to pick you up from school early. The teacher told him you took leave."
Rong Zhi made an ’mm’ sound, "Got it, I’ll message him."
After hanging up, Rong Zhi opened WeChat and saw Bai Su’s message from a little while ago. Her fingers moved as she replied with ’busy,’ then glanced leisurely at Sheng Zizhao opposite, saying quietly, "Ask away."
Sheng Zizhao choked.
The attitude made it seem as if he was the one being interrogated.
He coughed twice, and asked seriously, "What’s your name?"
"Rong Zhi."
"Why did you attack them? Did they hit you first?"
Rong Zhi’s tone was calm, "No."
"If not, then why did you attack them?!"
If it’s not self-defense, then it’s intentional injury and leads to detention!
Rong Zhi unhurriedly switched positions, aligning the phone with her temple, gently tapped it, eyes narrowed slightly, "Because I have a vendetta against them."
Sheng Zizhao was taken aback by the hostility in her eyes, and at that moment, he remembered Rong Zhi hadn’t removed her mask; he didn’t even know what she looked like.
Was this considered open provocation?
Sheng Zizhao’s face resided, "Rong Zhi, your mask should be removed now that you’re in the police station."
Rong Zhi raised her brows, lifted her hand to remove the mask, and casually brushed her overly long bangs.
At the moment her entire face was revealed, Sheng Zizhao’s breath caught.
Not just him, but it seemed like the observation room outside was filled with gasps.
The boy in the interrogation room had fair skin, accentuating her fox-like eyes, deep black, gleaming, seemingly holding the darkest of earthly mysteries, undisturbed.
The ends of her eyes hooked with hints of red, exotically striking.
Even sitting lazily there, she exuded a rebellious, unrefined aura, impossible to tame.
Rong Zhi hooked her mask on her fingers, the corners of her lips slightly lifted, almost mocking, "Satisfied?"
Sheng Zizhao: "..."
Damn it!! Why does it feel like she’s flirting with him!!
"Knock, knock."
The knocking noise snapped Sheng Zizhao back to his senses.
Rong Zhi rotated her phone back into her palm, speaking leisurely, "Those people will be healed by tomorrow."
She understood her own strength, at most making them suffer for the night.
This left Sheng Zizhao perplexed, "Then why were they covered in blood?"
Their flesh was blurred.
Rong Zhi let out a light laugh, laced with cold indifference, "A minor punishment."
Just embedding and then extracting a bullet, what an insignificant injury, it’ll heal with care.
If Fu Liang hadn’t made her promise not to kill, those individuals wouldn’t have merely been hurt.
Sheng Zizhao: "!!!!"
Dangerous person!! Definitely antisocial personality disorder!!
Rong Zhi squinted, "Officer, they trafficked children, forced them to beg, committed violence against them. I merely returned their actions upon them. Is that wrong?"
"Though you say that, you can’t just administer your own justice. If they die and can’t report..."
Sheng Zizhao increasingly felt that Rong Zhi was dangerous.
"Ah," Rong Zhi drawled, "I see you’re worried about that."
After saying this, she casually dialed a number.
The phone rang for barely a few seconds before being answered.
With Sheng Zizhao’s doubtful and vigilant gaze, Rong Zhi activated the speaker and tossed the phone onto the table, raising her chin, "Old Sir Lu."
"Rong Zhi? Why are you calling?" An elderly male voice came through the speaker.
Rong Zhi: "Got a bit of a situation. I’ve been captured by the criminal police unit."
After she spoke, there was a two-second silence from the other side, and Old Sir Lu’s voice became anxious, "What’s going on? Which unit? Don’t worry, I’ll have someone handle it right away."
Rong Zhi didn’t answer, signaling Sheng Zizhao with her eyes.
Sheng Zizhao completely didn’t understand what she intended, and unable to take action, could only reluctantly report the full title of the headquarters.
Old Sir Lu remained silent for a moment, possibly considering who to send for help, "Okay, Rong Zhi, don’t be afraid. Someone will be there soon."
Rong Zhi: "Mm."
After retrieving her phone, Rong Zhi closed her eyes, her demeanor tired and lazy, refusing further interaction.
Sheng Zizhao contemplated how to deal with her but remained quiet.
Ten minutes later, the observation room door swung open.
A tall man walked in.
Upon seeing the tall man, Chen Qi was startled, "Chief Yang, why are you here?"
The newcomer’s the captain of the Criminal Police Headquarters, Yang Feifan.
Yang Feifan glanced around the observation room and then focused on the interrogation room, asking, "Is the person you’re interrogating named Rong Zhi?"
Chen Qi nodded, "Yes, Chief Yang, do you want to interrogate personally? That kid..."
"Let her go."
Chen Qi froze, taking a few seconds to confirm he hadn’t misheard, "Huh? Let her go?!!"
Yang Feifan repeated, "Yes, hurry, it’s an order from above, and you folks always manage to create trouble for me, arresting a Lu Family member."
He was originally training newcomers at the training grounds when he suddenly received a call from the highest-level executive officer, stating they had detained a guest of the Beizheng Lu Family, nearly startling him out of his wits.
Chen Qi was genuinely befuddled by now.
How was this related to the Lu Family??
Yang Feifan, losing patience, directly kicked open the interrogation room door, his eyes falling on the child lounging leisurely even in the cramped interrogation room, initially surprised but then speaking, "You’re Rong Zhi, right? No problem here, they arrested the wrong person, you can leave now."
Rong Zhi slowly opened her eyes, nodding, recognizing him as the person Old Sir Lu sent, standing up and heading out languidly.
"Wait! What’s going on, how is she being released? Also, why did Chief Yang come?" Sheng Zizhao saw Rong Zhi leaving and hurriedly called to stop.
Yang Feifan irritably glanced at him, "You could interrogate the criminals instead of a boy who helped you people, is your brain filled with water? Now hurry up and move!"
Finishing, he turned to Rong Zhi, his face a smile, adopting a courteous tone, "Mr. Rong, it’s all a misunderstanding, let me see you out of headquarters."
