The Unstoppable Comeback Of the Unrivaled Ex-Wife
Chapter 637
CHAPTER 637: CHAPTER 637
Clara was enraged by his response. She grabbed a blanket and pillow then stormed off towards the cowshed. ’Hmph! I’d rather sleep with cows than with a scumbag like you!’ She gritted her teeth as she thought so. However, when she arrived at the cowshed, she found that the rich smell of cows, cow manure, and grass was too much for her. She soon returned to the room.
At the moment, Ethan was sound asleep.
"Sleep on the floor, damn it!" Clara threw the blanket and pillow on him before she kicked him onto the floor.
Satisfied, she got onto the bed.
Ethan was sleeping soundly, but woke up with a start as he landed on the floor. He rubbed his sleepy eyes and crawled back into bed, then hugged her and said, "Baby, stop messing around!"
He dozed off again, and Clara was at a loss for words. She wanted to kick him away but he hugged her like they were a couple who had made up with each other after a fight. She couldn’t bear to kick him away either.
"Forget it. What an ill-fated relationship!" She heaved a long sigh and let him hug her as they slept.
Since they were so exhausted, they slept until late morning the next day. They slowly woke up after the crew were almost done preparing for the shooting.
"Why are you here? Didn’t you sleep in the cowshed?" Ethan looked at the woman in his arms and asked, smiling. He didn’t know that Clara had snuck back into the room and kicked him off the bed.
"Hmph! I won’t sleep in that kind of place." Clara got up and changed her clothes, then went to wash up.
Ethan also quietly changed his clothes and washed up before he went to open the door. When he opened the door, the camera team and the director immediately went to him. They had been waiting at the door.
"Mr. Stuart, why didn’t you tell us that you were coming to visit? We were so busy preparing things for you..." Adam Jiminez, the director, smiled brightly. "Universal Entertainment is the biggest sponsor of Happy Days, so you’re our benefactor. Do you have any new orders for the show? Please tell us, and well change it until you’re satisfied."
Ethan had met a lot of people like this, so he remained calm. "There’s indeed something you need to change."
"Please tell us. We’re all ears. We can even change it now."
"Pick a larger house next time and get more guest rooms. I didn’t sleep well last night and my neck is sore." Ethan turned his neck and felt discomfort. He had been enjoying a comfortable life for so many years and had never slept so badly before.
"Umm... This is the best house in this village though."
Adam was put in a dilemma but he gritted his teeth and said, "It’s fine. Well resolve it. Well build a new house now. I think it’ll be done when we shoot the next season of Happy Days, so well invite you as a guest then."
Ethan waved. "Alright, carry on with your work. I’m too busy to join a variety show."
"Yeah, I overlooked that. You must be very busy, so you can’t join such a childish thing. I should have watched my tongue. " Adam’s flattery filled Clara with discomfort. Flattering and bullying in the entertainment circle were indeed quite bold and outrageous. She recalled watching the interesting highlights of the behind-the-scenes of Happy Days. The celebrities also fawned over Adam, and at that time, she felt that he was an upright man and different from the other celebrities.
Unexpectedly, everyone in the entertainment circle was realistic about building connections.
When Clara saw Adam turn to leave, she immediately asked," Mr. Jiminez, can I ask you a question?"
Adam saw Clara come out of the same room as Ethan, so he assumed that she had a special relationship with him. She might be the new star Ethan decided to support and promote. So, Adam asked enthusiastically, "Go on. Ask me anything. You’re more outstanding than the celebrities we invited. I thought you were a mysterious guest we invited!"
"I would like to ask you where Shirley is. I need to talk to her.
"Shirley?" When Shirley’s name was brought up, Adam’s expression changed. He had a lot of complaints about the fixed guest that was forced on the show. "I think she may be very busy. She generally comes way too late for shooting since people from the town will carry her here. I think she’s still sleeping at the moment, but she’ll get here soon. Well be shooting the celebrities picking mushrooms on the mountain today, and we can’t shoot that if she doesn’t come.
After he said that, he heard his assistant’s joyful voice." Miss White is here. At last, we can start shooting!"
"Mr. Jiminez, I’m so sorry that Shirley is late again today. She couldn’t sleep last night because the bed in the hotel is so hard and it smells bad. Shirley’s had a hard time." The sharp voice of Shirley’s agent came from afar, and she enthusiastically ran over and greeted Adam coquettishly so he wouldn’t get angry with them.
Shirley was right behind her, and her assistant held an umbrella over her head while serving her drinks. Shirley was scowling, clearly impatient.
When the three of them saw Ethan and Clara, who were surrounded by the director and crew members, their faces turned pale.
"Ethan... Why... Why are you guys here?"
Ethan was about to speak but Clara beat him to it as she sneered, Miss White, I heard that you’re having a hard time here, so Ethan and I came to visit you and cheer you on!"
Shirley’s features stiffened, but she could only put on a fake smile since there were so many people around. Miss Blackwell, what are you talking about? We’re not that close. I’m flattered that you came here to visit me. I don’t deserve such a great honor."
"Yeah, we’re not close but you’re pretty close to Ethan. He wanted to visit you, so I naturally came along." Clara did not want to fall out with Shirley directly, so she used Ethan as an excuse.
"Really?" Shirley sounded surprised as she looked at Ethan eagerly. "Ethan, did... did you come for me?"
Ethan was speechless, and just shrugged helplessly.
"Yeah, Ethan came to ask you one thing. You talked to the main surgeon of the Fair Plastic Surgery Institution on the phone at 8.20 a.m. on the thirteenth of August, didn’t you?" Clara asked directly.
