The Villainess is Tired of Everything
PAID Chapter 52
Chapter 52
Unlike his usual disregard for the opinions of others, Darcy always seeks my thoughts. I'm glad to be someone so close to him, but I also wonder where exactly that line is drawn. How far can I go before I cross it?
"Do you dislike it?"
His question snapped me back to reality. Not wanting him to misunderstand, I quickly shook my head.
"Of course, I'm fine with it too."@@novelbin@@
I answered, realizing that his gaze was still fixed on me. It was as if he had read my mind, and Darcy spoke slowly.
"You're special to me."
His words could easily be taken as a confession.
"So I hope this feeling isn't love."
At least until I heard the next part.
His voice changed in an instant, carrying a hint of fear beneath it. What could he be afraid of?
"I want to remain this way for you always."
Is he afraid of how things would change if he fell in love?
I still didn’t fully understand what Darcy was afraid of. That was something we would have to figure out together.
"It's okay."
I whispered, like comforting a child who’s afraid of a monster in the closet.
"I hope you won't fear change."
