Chapter 61

"Hello, Lady Etwar."

Curly brown hair swayed gently. Lady Wernar, with her hair reminiscent of soft chocolate, was more of a delicate beauty than a dazzling one.

"Thank you for inviting me."

"No, thank you for coming."

We began with polite pleasantries, masking our true feelings. A brief stare-down ensued between us, with Lady Wernar quickly raising the white flag and whispering just loud enough for only me to hear.
