The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband
Chapter 520: The spar
CHAPTER 520: THE SPAR
Cedric’s body reacted to the threat he immediately sensed. His eyes turned pitch black, and his claws elongated. He was not fond of fighting bare-handed, but he had to.
Raziel didn’t specify but Cedric could already deduce it. He lunged forward, they clashed exchanging blows, although Raziel had the upper hand he didn’t hold back for Cedric in the slightest moment
Each move gave Cedric the thrill that any slightest mistake might take his life. As if knowing Raziel might indeed kill him Cedric actually stood a chance against him. He felt a primal urge in him, his taste for blood, he didn’t have the chance to fight back the maddening urge.
There was no need because he knew he could not kill Raziel. His movements were fast, less calculated, almost reckless, different from how he normally fought.
The unpredictability turned out to be his strength. Raziel, at times, deliberately lured him in, reducing his guard before taking Cedric on again_ Cedric didn’t hate it.
He enjoyed the thrill. After exchanging blows, switching between physical attacks and magic, Cedric was completely exhausted. He couldn’t move a muscle. He stood on a spot panting heavily.
Raziel stopped, Cedric thought the lecture was over but then the air changed. Raziel didn’t give him a single instruction everything he wanted to teach Cedric was based on instincts.
Raziel’s presence grew, and something immediately felt off. Cedric’s senses heightened. He stood on guard immediately.
"This isn’t the time to relax," Raziel said before he disappeared ....
No he didn’t disappear.
Cedric’s narrowed.
Raziel moved but his speed was almost beyond his senses. Cedric’s body went on high alert and instinctively his wings emerged and he shot off the ground away from the danger
His escape was fruitless; Raziel was already before him, and Cedric was struck down. His body could barely withstand the blow, but he survived out of instinct.
He was still floating in the air. His eyes are cautiously looking to sense Raziel. This time Cedric caught sight of the gold light and evaded Raziel’s attack. It was a battle of survival and he fought purely on his instincts.
He didn’t know how long, but Cedric could not let go of his guard for a second until his body, which had been pushing for so long, could not take the strain anymore.
Raziel’s attack came, a powerful golden light strong enough to destroy anything in its path. Cedric could not avoid it; he could barely keep himself afloat.
Death came so close to him. Just before it hit him, a strong force struck him from the air to the ground to avoid the hit, which exploded at a distance.
Cedric fell straight to the ground, creating a crater. His entire body was almost numb. He could not even retrieve his wings and just stared wide-eyed at the dark sky. Raziel flew down, the strong golden light surrounded him, behind his back were a pair of gold wings which disappeared immediately.
He had a taunting smirk on his face. "I guess you have your answers now." He mentioned. Cedric was thrown into his thoughts, trying to figure out what Raziel meant, until it clicked to him. He had fought Raziel at his full strength, completely synchronised for a very long time, and even when he grew exhausted, he didn’t black out.
"Why?" He blurted, confused, why he could do it now after so long. Raziel jumped into the crater to give Cedric a hand then pulled him out before keeping him against a rock. They weren’t close to the palace again. It seemed like a forest of some sort only that the air was very heavy.
Raziel sighed, then sat by Cedric’s side. At that moment, he didn’t seem like the scary king of Netheralis. He seemed like someone different to Cedric it was a feeling even he found strange
Could he say he admired Raziel, or was it more? "The answer is simple, you are the problem and the solution," Raziel answered, he paused, enjoying how his words always throw Cedric off.
"The problem and solution," Cedric muttered. What did Raziel mean?
"Just think what you did differently." Raziel’s words were like a low whisper running through his head..
Cedric thought about the entire fight, was it because he fought without holding back? That wasn’t it.
"I followed my instincts." Cedric’s eyes went wide in realisation. Raziel had a soft smile like a satisfied teacher. "You listened to yourself. To the voices you normally shun. What you have been doing wrong was fighting yourself." Raziel patted his shoulders
"So I should accept my thoughts and instincts no matter how reckless they might be," Cedric asked Raziel who nodded in approval. A dark smoke enveloped them and they disappeared.
The environment changed, and next Cedric found himself in his room. "You should try to rest before training away. This is the last time I will interfere with you." Raziel informed Cedric.
He didn’t teleport out of the room but walked straight to the door instead. He reached out for the knob, but his hand froze halfway. Something flickered across his eyes.
Raziel released a long breath, and hesitation was written all over his face; Cedric could feel it from behind him. "It is not my place to say this, your mother was meant to tell you," Raziel’s lips pursed.
"The demons are basically gods cursed to rule the dead and rule Netheralis because of that we are bound to here," Raziel mentioned, "although you might be able to leave once you can control your powers were but the gods in Elaris won’t let you stay in the mortal realm for long."
Cedric’s hands were clenched by his side. This was what they hid from him. Cedric sensed they weren’t telling him something but didn’t know what. He could not stay away from this realm for long, nor could Abrielle stay here.
"Is there truly no way?" He asked Raziel.
Raziel didn’t turn away. "There might be a way. Your mother did stay in the mortal realm for 4 years." Raziel answered, and Cedric remembered his conversation with Elysia. She mentioned no one could find her because she subconsciously suppressed her presence and powers and avoided the gods of Elaris noticing him
He would be fine as long as he did that. There was something else Raziel wasn’t telling him
"That isn’t what you have been hesitant to tell me," Cedric mentioned, Raziel’s jaw clenched tightly.
