CHAPTER 523: HIS FATE TO CHOOSE

"Raziel," his name slipped out like a chant from her lips. Raziel smiled. He buried his face in her neck, lightly kissing her skin before he whispered. "You are not just my wife or the mother of my children. You are a part of my soul Elysia. We already agreed on this fate, there is no turning back now."

She pulled back, startling him. Elysia pushed him over the bed and then climbed over him. Straddling him underneath. His eyes filled with emotions, both spoken and unspoken.

He really made it hard for her to be upset with him. She should be mad for the lies he told her but here she was easily forgiving him. She wiped off the tears in her eyes before she leaned in to capture his lips with a fiery kiss..

It wasn’t tender and warm like his. It carried heavy emotions, her heart was cut open for him. Her soul was naked before him. He moaned into her mouth before even realising it. His every wall collapsed before her

Raziel grabbed her neck pulling her close, as they devoured their hearts. Their lips parted open, and their tongues got into an endless dance. They were two hearts which beat as one

Two hearts which didn’t stop beating for each other despite the flow of time. Instead, their love grew. Raziel paused, he felt the wet drops fall on his face and slip into his mouth

It tasted salty...

His heart beat slowed, and Raziel broke the kiss. His gaze fell on her tear-stained face. It was like she could not stop herself from crying. Raziel sat up and without a word, he pulled her close against his chest

He didn’t stop her and just let her cry out her heart. While he rubbed her back whispering sweet words to her ears.

He lost track of time, the candles continued to burn and eventually her cries stopped. She stopped trembling in his arms. Each cry went straight to his heart. "Thank you," she muttered with her face still buried on his chest

Raziel placed a soft kiss on her head. His voice sounded tired. He understood why she said thank you but he preferred she didn’t. "You don’t have to. I am no saint." He chimed.

She nodded then stirred in his arms. She sat against him, his arms secured on her waist, and stared at the fireplace with her head on his broad shoulder.

"It’s unfortunate how much suffering he has to endure." Elysia mentioned, "It’s his choice. If he chooses to let go or try to fight a pointless battle." Raziel answered.

He knew what Elysia was trying to do; she didn’t say it, but her subtle actions were not hard to read. Cedric was a child who should never have been born, his fate was cruel.

Her selfishness as a mother was to protect him, but how was she going to stop a grown man from making his decision? She could not force him to stay in Netheralis.

Cedric’s desperation was obvious; he was ready to move mountains for his wife. It kind of reminds her of her and Raziel’s story. That is what hurts the most.

"You have a soft spot because of his strange resemblance to us." She mentioned it, and Raziel frowned. "Maybe." He answered.

What she feared the most about Cedric was how much he loved his wife. She doubts Cedric would accept letting go. Would he be able to handle reality when everything falls apart?

Clang, Cedric’s sword, crashed against Azrael’s dagger. The force of the clash pushed me back, stumbling a few feet away.

It’s been over a week since the night Cedric sparred with Raziel. Ever since that night his mind couldn’t stop thinking about the last conversation he had with Raziel.

"If you truly love her you would be able to let her go for her own good."

Those words echoed. In his mind. Cedric’s teeth gritted. Why did it seem like the universe was against him? Everyone said the same thing.

Why

Why

Cedric’s thoughts were all over the place. "Cedric," he heard Thamiel’s sharp voice from the side. He didn’t get the warning in Thamiel’s words early enough.

Azrael didn’t give him the chance to realise what was happening. The 7th prince came like a tidal wave, his dagger clashed with Cedric’s sword.

Cedric’s muscles moved due to instincts, but the force in them was hollow, like his mind wasn’t in the fight. Which wasn’t far from the truth. The sword slipped out of his hand, falling on the ground.

"Put your mind in the fight." Azrael snapped at Cedric. His sharp dagger was next to Cedric’s neck. It was dangerously close. The slight movement of his Adam’s apple would graze the edge of the blade.

Their eyes just locked. Azrael’s brows furrowed confused about what was happening to Cedric. "Step back," he heard Thamiel’s voice in his head.

He was supposed to be focused.

He was supposed to be improving.

But all he could think of was Raziel’s words echoing over and over in his head.

Azrael glanced at Thamiel then stepped back. His frown got deeper. "What is going through your head? Your mind isn’t in the fight, " Azrael blurted, shielding his dagger.

All of a sudden Cedric changed like he lost his interest. Azrael found this change bothersome.

Cedric picked up his sword, "I am fine." He says half heartedly. None of the princes believed him. "Maybe we should take a break," Thamiel chirped in, his hand falling on Cedric’s shoulder.

Cedric silently nodded and then walked up to a bench. He sat down and then buried his face in his palms. A sharp groan escaped his mouth. Thamiel and Raziel glanced at each other before they approached the bench then took a seat at his side.

"The weather is particularly hot today," Azrael chimed, trying to strike up a conversation. Cedric dropped his hand on his thighs. "Is the weather here ever good?" He grumbled, having a distinct bitter tone.

"I think father said something to him." Thamiel communicated his thoughts to Azrael. He started observing this change in Cedric after the night he sparred with Raziel.

"What do you think he said?" Azrael replied, keeping their communication discreet from Cedric, who seemed lost in his thoughts.

Before Thamiel could reply Cedric finally spoke. "How did Raziel and Elysia meet?" Cedric asked, puzzling the brothers. They were stunned, surprised by his sudden question.

"You want to know about our parents’ love story." Azrael blurted. His eyes filled with astonishment.

"Did they ever have to choose between love and duty?"
