CHAPTER 211: CHAPTER 211: THE SHAMELESS LITTLE WOLF

Kael’s POV~

I swear I almost died on the spot.

One second the little wolf was sitting quietly on Selene’s lap, and in the next second he was pinning her down like she belonged to him.

He was licking her face like a starving creature, and she was giggling like he was some fluffy angel. My blood boiled so hard I felt heat climb up my neck.

I stared at the scene in front of me and wanted to punch something. First, because Lucian had actually kept this from them. Second, because this wolf had been with her the entire time while I was running around like a heartbroken idiot.

I spent nights searching for her. I lost sleep. I worried myself sick. I almost tore down packs trying to find her. And this brother of mine was right next to her, cuddling her, eating affection like a glutton, and pretending to be a harmless fluffball.

My eye twitched. My jaw ached from clenching. My heart felt betrayed. I wanted to drag Lucian by his hair and beat some sense and shame into him.

And then I wanted to drag his wolf form off her because he was pressing his face into her neck like he owned her. The more he licked her, the angrier I got. He wiggled in her lap, and she just smiled at him.

That was it. I finally stood up.

I marched toward her and reached out to grab the wolf.

But the little monster suddenly turned his head and bared his teeth at me. He growled. At me. He showed his small sharp teeth like I was some stranger threatening Selene.

I froze. I stared at him. My brain stopped working for a full second.

"...You just growled at me, you fucking bastard...I am your brother," I whispered.

Aeron and Luca looked just as shocked. Even they didn’t know what to say. Lucian’s wolf. The shy wolf. The quiet wolf. The fluffy innocent one. Was actually warning me to back off.

I felt my anger rise again. My expression must have been terrifying because both Aeron and Luca didn’t say anything. The wolf pressed closer to Selene and kept acting cute. He whined like a baby and nudged her neck. He wagged his tail and pushed his face into her chest like he was snuggling deeper on purpose.

And this silly girl has no idea that this shameless wolf was taking advantage of her.

I felt something snap inside me.

"I will throw this idiot out of the window," I muttered.

Selene immediately protected him. "Kael, don’t blame him. He’s a cutie pie."

I stared at her. She didn’t defend me like that. Ever. She called me shameless every day. Meanwhile, this thing was pressing his face into her chest, and she was calling him cute.

Unbelievable.

I felt my heart curl up and die in a corner. I glared at the wolf. He looked right back at me with smug eyes like he was mocking me.

I tried again to pull him away.

But then he shoved his face deeper into her. His whole head was buried against her chest. I almost screamed. She didn’t even notice. She just patted his head like he was the best thing that ever happened to her.

I wanted to flip a table.

Aeron sighed behind me. Luca rubbed his face in disbelief. They were angry too, but not like me. Lucian was their baby brother, so they were softer. Meanwhile, I was the one who actually had a heart attack every night thinking Selene was dead.

And right now this wolf was stealing all the affection I ever got.

I leaned forward again to grab the wolf.

And then it happened.

His body glowed.

There was a soft flash.

"Wait..." Selene said, but the moment was already gone.

The small wolf disappeared.

Lucian appeared.

The impact was instant. He grabbed Selene by the waist and flipped their positions so fast it made my blood pressure spike. Selene fell right onto him and landed in his lap. Her hands hit his bare chest. She looked shocked. He looked like he was enjoying every second of it.

I felt rage shoot through me like lightning.

Lucian was shirtless. He was holding her. He was staring at her like she was the only person in this entire world. And she was sitting on his lap, completely stunned.

Lucian tilted his head and gave her this slow, deep grin. His eyes were so intense I wanted to break that expression off his face.

I pointed at him and yelled, "LUCIAN! PUT HER DOWN RIGHT NOW!"

He didn’t even look at me. He kept staring at her like he was going to eat her whole.

Selene’s face was burning red. She was still sitting right there, holding onto his chest because she had no choice.

And Lucian had the nerve to say one word to me.

"No."

I almost wanted to beat the shit out of him.

Aeron sat down like he had given up on life. Luca looked at the ceiling like he needed peace from the universe. And I...

I looked at my shameless brother holding the girl I spent a year searching for.

I took a deep breath just to calm down; just wait, he would definitely teach him a lesson.

Lucian’s POV~

The moment she landed in my lap, everything inside me went still. For a whole year, I searched for her. I waited for her. I fought for her. My wolf dragged me across borders to follow her scent.

And now she was finally here. She was warm in my arms. Her hands were pressed on my bare chest. Her scent hit me like a wave and almost knocked the air out of my lungs. I felt something inside me unclench after months of pain. I finally had her close again.

My wolf was so excited he could not stop wiggling. He had acted like the most shameless puppy in front of her.

He ruined every savage image I ever had in front of my brothers. I could still feel his happy energy bouncing inside me. He kept whining in my head, saying, "Mate, mate, mate," like he was the happiest creature alive.

I did not want to lose more dignity by letting him take over again. So I shifted back fast and pulled her into my arms.

Her stunned expression was beautiful. Her eyes were wide, her lips parted, and she looked like she didn’t know how to breathe.

I wanted to kiss her right there. I wanted to hold her tighter. I wanted to keep her in my lap forever.

Kael was yelling in the background, but I didn’t care. Aeron and Luca were staring, but I didn’t care about them either. My eyes stayed on her.

She was pressed against me, and her scent was intoxicating. Her warmth soaked into my skin. I could feel her heartbeat against my chest, and it made something inside me burn.

She tried to get up. She pushed against me with her hands, but in her haste she moved too fast. She was strong, but she was clumsy right now. Her foot slipped. Her balance broke. For a second she fell forward again.

A sharp groan escaped my throat. It was impossible to hold it back. My whole body tensed, and heat rushed through me so fast I had to close my eyes for a second.

Selene froze.

Then her eyes widened.

Then her cheeks turned crimson.

She realized exactly where she had fallen. After all, how could she not realize that damn thing immediately reacted and was pressing hard against her.

Her entire face burned red. She looked like she wanted to vanish into the air. Her whole body went stiff, and she pushed on my chest with shaking hands.

I felt her panic, and for some reason it only made her even cuter.

Before I could stop myself, I leaned closer and murmured, "My dear... if you’re this impatient, just tell me. No need to throw yourself at me." My hands immediately snaked around her thighs.

She slapped my hand away instantly. "Keep it to yourself!" she snapped.

She scrambled off my lap in record time and stepped back several feet like I was dangerous fire. She refused to look at me, and her face was still burning red. She crossed her arms tightly and glared at me.

I couldn’t help it. I chuckled. I finally had her in front of me again, and she was acting so adorable that my chest felt warm.

Kael pointed at me like he caught a criminal. "See?! SEE?! Look how shameless he is! And you always say I am! He is worse than me!"

Selene turned to him with anger in her eyes. "Can you let me complete a sentence? You all never let me finish a single word! And you," she pointed at me, "keep your hands to yourself!"

She grumbled under her breath, pacing like a frustrated cat. Aeron tried to hide a smile but failed. Luca looked like he wanted to laugh but was scared of her anger.

Aeron sighed and stepped forward. His voice was soft, steady, and careful. He looked at her with a gentle expression that only he had. He knew how to calm her without making her more upset.

"Selene," he said quietly, "don’t mind them. They are always like this."

Kael and Luca opened their mouths, but Aeron shot them one sharp look. They both froze. Then they sat down like obedient children. I had to stop myself from laughing. And then another glare was directed at me. I also didn’t want to make her more angry, so I decided to stay put.

Aeron continued, "Just tell us. We are always with you."

His words were simple but strong. Selene’s shoulders relaxed. Her eyes softened. She looked at Aeron, then at the rest of us. Something warm moved in her expression. Even Kael and Luca nodded with serious faces. I could feel the quiet promise in the air.

We were willing to do anything for her.

Anything.

Even if she asked for our life, we would be willing to give it to her.
