Sana, who was touching up her make–up, jolted in surprise, nearly dropping her powder puff. Flustered and embarrassed, she looked up and red at Jéssica. “Jessi!”

Jessica chuckled softly and said, “There, there, don’t be mad. Where are you headingb? /bbI’ll /bgive you a rideb./bb” /b

Sana wasforted by her gentle words and was sorely tempted to say yes, but remembering her blind date ns, she reluctantly shook her head.

“No, it’s fine. I’ll just grab a cab,” Sana said. “Jessi, don’t worry about me. You should head home nowi./ii” /i

‘I can’t let anyone I know find out I’m going on a blind date just yet, especially not Jessi. Otherwise, she’ll definitely start asking about me and Wesley, and I really don’t want to exin that,’ Sana thought to herself.

Seeing Sana’s reluctance, Jessica didn’t press further. After all, she wasn’t the type to pry. “Alright then. I’ll get going. If you need anything, call me anytime.”

Sana nodded and watched Jessica until she was out of sight. Then, she picked up her powder puff and applied the final touches bto /bher makeup.

‘Since I promised Mom I’d go on this blind date, I can’t just half–ass it,’ she thought, taking a deep breath.

Still preupied with Sana’s matter, Jessica brought it up to Wesley the moment she met Wesley. He asked, “Wait, she got all dressed up just for some dinner?”

At those words, Wesley instantly recalled the man he’d seen Sana on a blind date with before and thought, ‘I already told her that guy was trouble. Why can’t she just take her time and be more cautious?‘

Wesley felt a surge of frustration bubbling in his chest. Just then, a mutual friend of his and Sana sent him a message with a photo attached. [Hey, Wesley. Sana’s on a blind date. Wasn’t she chasing after you before?]

Wesley’s face turned grim as he looked at the attached photo of Sana walking upstairs, shoulder–to–shoulder with another man.

‘He’s the same guy as before, but this one’s no better either,‘ Wesley thought darkly.

Thinking back to what Jessica had mentioned about Sana leaving work on time every day for dinner, realization struck him like a punch to the gut.

‘Damn, she must be going on blind dates every single day recently. Is she really that eager to push me away?‘ Wesley thought,

    irritated.

The more he thought about it, the more agitated he became. His usually calm demeanor was gone, reced by restless energy.

Wesley quickly typed out a reply. [Where did you see her?]

His friend replied: [At Harvest za. I’d just finished shopping when I ran into her. I asked what she was up to, and she said she was on a blind date. We chatted for a bit, then she and her date went upstairs together. Not sure which floor though.]

The reply came almost immediately, only making Wesley feel even more suffocated. He thought, ‘That mall is bhuge/bb. /bbEven /bbif /bbI /brush over now, there’s no guarantee I’ll find her.‘

But he couldn’t just sit there and do nothing. With these thoughts weighing on his mind, Wesley looked bup /bbat /bbJessica/b, bhis /b

Jessica chuckled. “Dr. Finch, there’s no need to be so formal with me. By the way, what’s got you so worked bup/bb? /bIs this about Sana?”

Their repeated odd behavior finally sparked a rare flicker of curiosity in Jessica.

Wesley nodded, sounding thoroughly drained. “She’s on another blind date. I just want to check on her. Don’t get me wrong, bI’m /bnot trying to sabotage her date or anything. I’m just worried she might get hurt.”

Jessica watched him putting up a front, amusement flickering in her eyes as she thought, ‘He’s clearly head over heels for her, yet he’s still putting on this act.”

“Oh, I believe you. Want me to help?” she teased lightly.
