They Want Me Back When It’s Too Late
Fast Life 433

bChapter /bb433 /b
bOn /bbthe /bboverpass/b, countless vehicles crossed paths like intersecting lives. Brian gripped his phone and looked over bat /bJessica, who sat far away with ha eyes closed. His expression showed a helplessness he couldn’t hide.
Jessica’s obvious dejection reminded him that he’d screwed up again somehow. But he had ino /iclue what he’d done wrong this time
Brian couldn’t help wondering if he was really capable of taking care of Jessica and their child.
He shared his confusion with Wesley through text, hoping his friend could offer some guidance.
Jessica sat with her eyes closed, listening to the sudden ping of a message notification that quickly went silent. Her heart feltpletely bempty/b.
‘Are you that desperate to contact her?‘ Jessica thought. ‘You can’t even give me a quiet meal without checking your phone? bIf /bbthat’s /bbthe /bcaseb, /bbwhy /bbother showing up in front of me at all?‘
Jessica knew her emotions were getting out of control, but she couldn’t stop herself. The fact that Brian might be texting Madeline bright /bbin /bbfront /bbof /bher brought back memories of those final days before she left the Atkinson family for good.
Those were the memories Jessica least wanted to revisit.
Fortunately, they only had to get off the highway and make one more turn to reach Grant Group. Jessica wouldn’t have to endure this awkward bride /bmuch longer.
The moment the car stopped, Jessica immediately pushed open the door and stepped out. She grabbed her bag and strode toward the building without looking back.
Brian watched her eager retreat, but he didn’t follow her. “Take me to the clinic,” he said coldly. He needed to have a face–bto/b–face talk with Wesley.
“Yes, Mr. Atkinson,” Jackson replied, turning the car around and heading toward Wesley’s psychology clinic.
Outside a nearby convenience store, Madeline watched the Rolls–Royce disappear down the street. Her eyes gleamed with determination.
Inside the tower, Jessica had just stepped off the elevator when she received a multimedia message from an unknown number. She was about to delete it as spam when another text followed immediately.
[Want to know who Brian met overseas?]
Jessica’s finger hovered over the delete button, but she couldn’t bring herself to press it.
A few minutester, Jessica stared at the video on her phone. It showed Brian sitting in a foreign restaurant, casually chatting with Madeline. Jessica’s fingers pressed so hard against the desk that her knuckles turned white.
‘Brian, you’re really something else,‘ Jessica thought bitterly. “You’ve got quite the talent for juggling schedules and ying both sides. You go on a business trip, tell me you’re buying me food, but secretly you’re traveling with Madeline. I really underestimated iyou/i.’
Jessica’s mood had hit rock bottom, and of course that was when Madeline decided to call her ion /ivoice chat.
Jessica had blocked her again recently and hadn’t bothered to check or reply to any of her messages. Maybe that was exactly why Madeline felt the need to find new ways to harass her.
Jessica’s face darkened as she unconsciously dragged the progress bar back to the beginning and watched the video again. bShe /bstared bintensely /bbat /bBrian’s face in the recording, desperately searching for any evidence that it wasn’t really him. But she came up empty–handed bevery /btime.
No matter how Jessica looked at it, the people in the video were definitely Brian and Madeline.
The voice call automatically disconnected when no one answered for too long, but Madeline’s need to show off wouldn’t bquit/bb. /b
