Even Sana, who usually trusted Jessicapletely, could tell something was off now. Jessica’s probably having banother /bepisode,‘ she thought. I better not push her right now. I’ll call Wesley to talk to her after lunch.

While Sana was nning to contact Wesley after their meal, Brian was feeling crushed by Jessica’s sudden outburst. He had just handed Jake over to his assistant to take back to school, and now he was driving straight to Wesley’s psychology

    clinic.

“I’m absolutely certain that Jake and I didn’t do anything special to trigger Jessica,” Brian said.

After walking Wesley through the entire incident where Jessica had turned on him, Brian couldn’t help but feel hurt and confused. If he had actually done something wrong to upset Jessica, he could understand why she’dsh out at him.

But now, Brian hadn’t done anything at all, yet Jessica had suddenly turned on him again. And this time, it wasn’t just directed at him. She’d included Jake in her anger too. Brian couldn’t wrap his head around it.

After listening to everything, Wesley was adamant. “No, something or someone definitely influenced her. Given how well she was recovering, there’s no way she’d have such a major setback in such a short time without a trigger.”

Brian’s brows furrowed deeply. “But I honestly don’t know what it could be. I’ve been at the hospital with Jessica this whole time. I’m certain no strangers came by.”

‘What could have possibly made Jessica’s attitude toward me change so drastically?‘ Brian thought.

Wesley nodded and tapped his file folder, suddenly remembering something. “Is there a woman named Madeline in your

    life?”

“Madeline?” Brian looked stunned. He hadn’t expected to hear Madeline’s namee out of Wesley’s mouth.

“Yes, Madeline.” Wesley confirmed with a nod. “Did you know she was stalking Ms. Grant before?”

“She was stalking Jessica? When did this happen?” Brian’s expression immediately darkened.

Wesley thought back for a moment, then gave him a rough timeframe.

Brian’s face turnedpletely dark with rage. Madeline should have still been abroad at that time.

“Looks like you’ve figured something out,” Wesley said as he typed thest few keys, then turned hisputer screen toward Brian. “I still have the security footage from when she came to my clinic. Take a look and tell me if this is the person you know.”

Brian stared at the surveince video. Even though the woman was wearing a hat, anyone who knew her could recognize Madeline instantly. Fury shot through him like lightning. “She lied to me! I thought she was overseas this whole time.”

Now everything made sense. Madeline had secretly returned to the country, or maybe she’d never left at all. She’d been harassing Jessica from the shadows, creating fake scenarios to make it look like she and Brian were having an affair. No wonder Jessica’s trust in him kept getting worse.

“No wonder Jessica’s emotions have been all over the ce. It’s been Madeline messing with bher /bhead bthis /bbentire /bbtime/b.

Damn it!” Brian cursed through gritted teeth.

“So you really didn’t know about this, but Ms. Grant obviously doesn’t believe you had no idea. You get what I’m bsaying/b, right?” Wesley actually felt sorry for Brian now.

Brian rubbed his face hard with his hands, barely holding back the urge ito /icurse. “Got it. I owe you one for this,” bhe /bsaid bas /bhe stood up and rushed toward the door.

Brian needed to contact someone immediately to verify whether Madeline was actually abroad or not. At this point, he was still clinging to onest shred of hope.

Wesley watched him hurry away and shook his head.

After getting Brian’s call, Jackson immediately booked a same–day flight to Yvoria. Once he arrived, he brought along some bodyguards he’d arranged beforehand and headed straight to Madeline’s overseas apartment. They sessfully cornered the fake Madeline red–handed.

    ??? ??

Jackson looked at the woman the bodyguards had restrained. She had about 80 percent of Madeline’s figure and 60 percent of her face. ‘Boss is going to lose his mind,‘ he thought grimly, then started a video call to Brian.
