They Want Me Back When It’s Too Late
Fast Life 522
bChapter 522 /b
“What are you carrying on about for no reason?” Lionel was in the middle of a lively chat when Sana cut in, and he instantly got annoyed.
Sana felt wronged. “I didn’t say anything wrong. Dad, you’re actually yelling at me for an outsider.”
That made Lionel even more upset. He turned to her, pointed a finger, and said, “What kind of talk is that? Wesley’s been chasing you for so long. You’re not even moved, and you just keep pushing him away.
“What do you want? You think he’s not good enough for you?”
Lionel looked Sana up and down, then nced back at Wesley, and decided. “In my view, it’s clearly you who aren’t good enough for Wesley. Sana, take my advice. Don’t be so fussy.”
Lionel didn’t really mean to put Sana down, of course. But he’d just asked about Wesley’s family and job, and objectively, Wesley’s situation was surprisingly good.
Normally, their family would hardly get a chance to meet someone like Wesley.
Now such a great guy was not only actively pursuing Sana but also being really sincere about it. Lionel naturally wanted to hold
onto him.
Of course, if Sana and Wesley didn’t work out, that was fine too. They could be friends. It was always good to have more connections.
But Sana just wouldn’t see it.
“I’m fussy? Dad, you’re actually saying I’m fussy? Whose side are you on anyway?” Sana was so angry that she could burst.
She knew Wesley was great, but that didn’t mean her dad had to take his sidepletely. ‘I’m his daughter, after all,‘ she thought.
“What’s all this inoise/i? You’re not a kid anymore. Act your age. What a mess.” Lionel, seeing Sana being so unreasonable, red at her.
Lionel then turned to Wesley. “Wesley, I really appreciate you putting up with her. She’s been spoiled by me and her mom. Her temper’s not the best. I’m really sorry.”
“Mr. Gardner, please don’t say that. I think Sana has a great temper. It’s me who usually manages to annoy her. I really should apologize to you and Mrs. Gardner for that,” Wesley said, giving an embarrassed smile.
“Quit putting on an act!” Sana was furious at the sight of him. ‘Who does he think he’s fooling?‘ she thought.
Wesley gave her a good–natured smile.
Lionel couldn’t stand it anymore. He pointed toward the kitchen and said, “Why don’t you go help your mom cook if you’ve got nothing to do? Stop running your mouth and behave yourself.”
“Dad!” Sana clenched her fists in anger./
Wesley stood up. “I’ll go instead. Sana must be tired after working all day. She should rest.” As he spoke, he gracefully poured a cup of coffee for Sana and held it out to her with both hands.

Sana looked at the fake smile on his face. She wanted more than anything to ssh that coffee in his face. “Take it away. I don’t
want any.”
Wesley smiled helplessly, “All right. What would you like then? I’ll get it for you.”
Sana turned her head away coldly, ignoring himpletely.
“Pay her no mind. She’s just being difficult,” Lionel said, unable to watch any longer.
Sana’s fists tightened. Finally, she couldn’t stand being there anymore, got up, and headed for the kitchen.
‘If I can’t mess with him, I can at least avoid him,‘ she thought.
Wesley started to follow, but Lionel stopped him. “Let her go. Come on, let’s y a game of chess.” Lionel had somehow gotten out
his chess set.
After finding out Wesley knew how to y chess during their earlier chat, he’d been itching to challenge Wesley.
Wesley nced at the closed kitchen door. He hesitated for a moment and decided to y chess with his potential future father–in-w first. “Sure. I’m not that good, though, Mr. Gardner. Go easy on me.”
