When Brian and Jessica made their slow way back to the ranch entrance, they ran into Vanessa and Sabrina, who’d arrived a bitte.

“Jessi, you guys already got the photo done?” Sabrina spoke up first to greet them.

Jessica, still on the horse, nodded with a smile. “Yeah. Head about 328 yards southeast. There’s a nice spot, good for photos. You might want to check it out.” She pointed in the direction as she spoke.

“Alright, we’ll go take a lookter. Thanks.” Sabrina appreciated the tip and turned to hurry Connor, who was still picking out a horse.

Sabrina said, “Done yet? Quit dragging your feet. Just pick one already.”

“Almost. Sabrina, just a minute more.” Connor waved her off without looking at her.

Sabrina got so annoyed that she marched over, pointed at a random horse, and told the trainer to bring it out for her.

Vanessa watched Sabrina, with Connor trying hard to talk her out of it, and turned to chat with Brian and Jessica. But all she saw was Brian gently helping Jessica get off the horse. He didn’t spare them so much as a nce.

“Quit staring. He doesn’t give a damn about you,” Spencer couldn’t help sneer when he noticed her looking.

He thought, ‘Like she thinks she’s that irresistible.‘

“Shut up.” Vanessa’s face went dark instantly. She snapped the words and walked off.

Spencer found her totally irritating, but for the cameras, he didn’t show it. He took the horse’s reins and hurried after her, even reaching out to touch her arm. He was ying the part of someone who’d identally upset his wife and was trying to smooth things over.

Their fans were all gushing. [Such a loving couple.]

But casual viewers, used to real sweetness, just sent a series of eye–rolling emojis. They thought, ‘It’s so obviously fake. What’s there to ship?‘

After Jessica got off the horse, she and Brian wandered around the ranch for a bit. Along the way, they ran into Lillian and Chase, who were taking photos.

Lillian, true to her actress side, nailed the pose, the angle, the camera sense, and even the

little expressions. Even with Chase’s so–so photography skills, the final shot turned out pretty good.

“Not bad. Decent work, I guess,” Lillian said, looking at the photos,

“Not bad“? It’s clearly good,” Chase argued.

Lillian ignored him and turned to go over to Jessica. “Jessi, what a coincidence. You guys are here, too. Oh, by the way, did you get your photo done?”

“We did. Want to see it?” Jessica asked before Lillian could even bring it up.

Lillian’s face lit up right away. “Jessi, how’d you know that’s what I was gonna say? Yes, I do. Show me quickly.”

Jessica chuckled while thinking, ‘Your thoughts are written all over your face. It’s really easy to guess.’

She pulled out her phone, opened the photo, and showed it to Lillian.

“Wow, that’s beautiful. Did Brian study professional photography? This technique is so good,” Lillian gushed and shot a critical look at Chase.

Chase wasn’t having it. He strode over and leaned down to take a look, too. He wanted to see what kind of great shot could win Lillian over like that. But the moment he saw the photo, he froze.

Lillian looked at Chase’s frozen face and smiled, “Well? Isn’t it better than your work?”

Chase stuck his chin out, looked away, and said nothing.

He thought, ‘Brian’s photography skills really are good. I can’t lie and say my work is better.

“Jessi, want to head to Cedarspan Highway togetherter? I can get him to take some photos of you and Brian,” Lillian said.

“Sure,” Brian answered before Jessica could speak.

Jessica gave him a yful, knowing look.

Brian looked away quietly, thinking, ‘So what if I want a photo with Jessi?”

“Jessi, Brian said sure, iso/i…” Lillian clearly knew who really made the calls.

    “Let’s

go together then,” Jessica said, not wanting to contradict Brian in front of others.

    “Yay!” Lillian cheered.

For the rest of the tour, she kept ttering Jessica, trying to butter her up so Brian might agree to take some nice photos of herter–ones she could post on Twitter.

Lillian thought, ‘A girl’s gotta keep up her social media game, after all.

Jessica was happy to oblige. Once they reached the spot, she first did the required pose so Brian could take their check–in photo. Meanwhile, Lillian and Chase finished theirs on the

    other side.

“All done. Time to clock out!” As soon as the check–in photo was taken, Lillian instantly took off like a runaway horse, ditching Chase to rush over and snuggle up to Jessica.

“Jessi, let’s take some photos together.” Lillian had been wanting to do this for ages. She really loved cozying up to pretty people.

“Sure,” Jessica agreed right away and looked at Brian and Chase, who’d followed Lillian over, and asked, “Which of you wants to be the photographer?”

“Brian, obviously. Chase is so–so at taking photos. We can’t let him make you look bad,” Lillian said without hesitation.

Chase let out augh, more annoyed than anything. “Lillian, who are you bashing?”

He thought, ‘My photography skills aren’t that bad.‘

Lillian rolled her eyes at him. “You’re just so–so. Can’t even take a little criticism? So petty.”

Chase got so mad that he reached out to grab Lillian, wanting to press her on it.

Brian, afraid they’d bump into Jessica while messing around, lifted a hand to stop them. “Alright, knock it off. I’ll take yours first. Then you can take one of Jessi and me.”

“Great idea. Brian always thinks things through,” Lillian gushed.

Chase got even angrier. He thought, ‘Complimenting another guy right in front of me? Like I’m not here?‘

“Hmph!” Too mad to do anything else for the moment, he just let out a huff and turned to

    walk away.

“Is he okay?” Jessica nced at his stormy retreating back, then at Lillian, who was blithely hunting for a good spot to take photos, and asked, concerned.

Lillian waved it off, not bothered. “Nah, he’s fine. I’ll go talk him down in a minute. Don’t

worry, Jessi. It won’t get in the way of taking your photo. If ites to it, I’ll take it for you and Brian. I’m not bad at taking photos, either.”

Jessica wanted to say that wasn’t what she was worried about, but seeing how little Lillian seemed to care that Chase was mad, she held back.

They’d only known each other for a few days, not really close. There was no need to stick her nose into Lillian and Chase’s business.

“Okay, let’s go take them by that hillside over there. The feel of it looks good.” Jessica, having made up her mind, joined Lillian in picking a spot and quickly settled on one.

Lillian had no issues with it. She looped her arm through Jessica’s and walked over.

Brian followed with his phone. He took a whole bunch of nice photos of the two and then took some solo shots of Jessica and Lillian, too.

Lillian was thrilled. As soon as they were done, she returned the favor by going to calm Chase down and bringing him back, asking him to take a photo of Jessica and Brian.

Lillian said, “Jessi, get a little closer to Mr. Atkinson. Yeah, like that. One, two, three, cheese.”
