Chapter 96 -- 96 80 Firearms Master--Bullet Sacrifice Tu Zheng's Lair_2
96: Chapter 80 Firearms Master–“Bullet Sacrifice” Tu Zheng’s Lair_2 96: Chapter 80 Firearms Master–“Bullet Sacrifice” Tu Zheng’s Lair_2 “No problem, absolutely no problem,” Director Zhang interrupted Li Ming before he could continue, “When we become field operatives, it’s extremely important to have a handy gun.
Take it, I’ll handle the rest of the process.”
“Fine then,” Li Ming shrugged his shoulders and picked another one, “This one…
isn’t bad either.”
Director Zhang’s expression changed but he bit his lip and said, “Take them both, take them both.”
He watched nervously as Li Ming looked around, relieved that he didn’t ask for another gun.
The onlookers exchanging glances in secret were speechless for a moment.
Upon entering the restroom, Li Ming took control; the abilities of both training firearms were at the level of an “[Expert].”
Li Ming tried to enhance one of them, spending 5550 points to raise it to D-class and unlocking “[Expert].”
His head spinning with waves of dizziness, knowledge about firearms poured in; even seasoned soldiers with years of service might not be as familiar with various firearms as he was.
Li Ming didn’t know what additional changes would happen if he enhanced these skills further.
Sure enough a prompt popped up—”[Gun control has been elevated to Master level, ability—’Bullet Sacrifice’ acquired.
Would you like to make it permanent?]”
Li Ming carefully reviewed—
[“Bullet Sacrifice: Every 24 hours, the first bullet fired can be imbued with any of the abilities you control.”]
?
Li Ming’s pupils dilated slightly.
It could do that?
Even bullets could be imbued; he instantly thought of numerous techniques.
Although he could fire just one such bullet a day, that would be enough to serve as a trump card.
What’s more, he might have other special abilities in the future.
…
Five days later, the interstellar inspection team and Blue Star accompanying personnel were departing.
After the situation in Silver Grey City had completely stabilized, they left with Qin Xiao and four other ministers for Capital Star, where a severe trial awaited them.
Under the watchful eyes of several acting ministers, the interstellar spaceship slowly ascended, its engine ejecting purple-blue flames several meters long against the wind, as the ship gradually vanished from their sight.
The crowd had mixed emotions.
The Sixth Patrol Fleet wouldn’t leave immediately, to help stabilize the situation in Silver Grey City, but they wouldn’t stay much longer either.
And after Chen Songnan’s death, the operation of Star Creation Company on Silver Grey Star also came to a halt, waiting for a new executive director.
Three days after these important people left, Silver Grey City experienced heavy rain, with clouds covering a vast area, mixed with black-brown dust, flowing over the land.
Amidst the heavy rain, a burly man made his way without any shelter, the rain sliding down his cheeks as he sped across the land, passed through narrow stone paths, and arrived at an underground cave.
Here, scattered crowds of people gathered.
“Brother Hu,” someone greeted him; he nodded nonchalantly and glanced around, his eyes finally settling on the figure as solid as a rock wall.
“Father,” he approached quickly, whispering, “I’ve already met with that old dog, no problems.”
“Good!” Tu Zheng suddenly stood up, “Let’s go meet him.
Chen Songnan is gone, Qin Xiao has fallen, but we won’t go down that easily.”
He encouraged the others before leaving the cave, braving the heavy rain and trekking for two hours to reach their destination.
This was a basin, where a group of figures in black raincoats crouched, one of them slowly standing up as they approached, a short figure with sinister eyes.
Their gazes met, just as they were about to speak, they suddenly looked up.
Several streaks of light trailing flames descended from the sky into the basin.
“Damn, we’ve been played, they’re hooks!” Tu Zheng and that old gluttonous dog had the same thought and turned to run.
But it was too late, rockets fell from the sky with a roar, sending up clouds of dust.
On the spot, some people were blown to pieces, with many more screaming for their parents.
Dozens of flying machines emerged from behind the mountains on both sides, spewing tongues of fire, a metallic torrent mixing with the rain.
Tu Zheng and the old gluttonous dog fled in different directions, bullets rained down on them, constantly sparking, as mud splashed under their feet.
After a round of bombardment, fully armed city guards descended from the flying machines.
In the sky above, several drones locked onto the two men’s positions; they had no chance of escape.
Half an hour later, a bruised and battered Tu Zheng and the old gluttonous dog were being firmly pressed to the ground, special genetic shackles suppressing their abilities, rendering them no different from ordinary people.
Yet they still let out indignant roars from their mouths.
“Minister!” Lin Yaoxian stepped aside, and Yang Peng came walking, surrounded by a crowd, with a person by his side that made Tu Zheng’s eyes split with rage.
“It’s you!?
You betrayed me!?” Tu Zheng roared, eyes bloodshot, “Since you’ve been by my side, when have I ever treated you poorly?
I gave you the name ‘Ah Hu’, treated you as my own, and yet you betray me!!”
Ah Hu’s expression was cold, all the usual respect replaced by fury, “I am not called Ah Hu, my name is Zeng Hao!”
“My father is Zeng Zhengfa!”
Tu Zheng was stunned.
“Heh, killed so many people you’ve even forgotten the names, huh.” Zeng Hao sneered.
“Lin Ke, please take these two back first, I’ll wrap things up here,” Yang Peng said.
“You can count on me, Minister, I guarantee it,” Lin Yaoxian thumped his chest in assurance, then led his team to take away the remaining captives.
……
Half an hour later, Yang Peng, who was clearing out the stragglers in the cave, received a communication from Lin Yaoxian.
He was sobbing, his voice breaking and trembling, “Min…
Minister, Tu Zheng and Glutton Dog, they’ve been…
they’ve been killed!”
“What!?” Yang Peng’s face suddenly darkened, “What happened?”
Although he was promoted to act as temporary minister, his lack of experience made it hard to command respect, so he maintained basic reverence toward the veterans of the city guard.
But Lin Yaoxian’s handling of the situation was embarrassingly bad.
Not far away, Zeng Hao’s eyes flickered slightly, his expression seemingly changing.
“Minister Yang…” Lin Yaoxian’s tone was full of helplessness: “We were ambushed en route, our transport ship was suddenly jammed, and we were forced to land.”
“Who would have thought, just as we landed, Tu Zheng and that old Glutton Dog had their heads blown off, dead on the spot.”
“Are the brothers okay?” Yang Peng took a deep breath, suppressing the fury inside him while many speculations crossed his mind, but he still asked about the safety of the others first.
“The brothers are fine, it seemed like only those two were the target.”
Yang Peng let out a sigh of relief and could only say, “Lin Ke, be careful, stay safe, he might still be around.”
“Actually…” Lin Yaoxian hesitated, “This happened five minutes ago, I only contacted you after making sure there was no danger.”
Yang Peng: “…”
Just then, Director Wang Ke approached with a grave expression, displaying on his smart terminal the bounty list from Black Hole Network.
The rewards for Tu Zheng and Old Glutton Dog had been claimed, and the claimant was none other than—Shadow!
“It’s him again!” Yang Peng furrowed his brows, the elusive bounty hunter was a constant thorn in his side.
The main force from Blue Star had just left, and this person came out to act again.
The only consolation was that, for now, there seemed to be no signs that the person was killing indiscriminately.
As Yang Peng pondered, unnoticed in the corner, Zeng Hao was swiftly operating on his smart terminal.
…
“This address…”
Li Ming looked at the message bar; it was his chat with Zeng Hao, who sent him an address along with several messages.
The last message Li Ming sent to him was—”The person is already dead.”
“It’s a bit far, we should hurry,” Li Ming said as he set out.
…
Two or three hours later, Li Ming arrived at a long-abandoned town, and, checking his smart terminal, he came to a dilapidated building.
“Seems like this is the place.”
He put away his smart terminal and took control, using the 360-degree surround imaging.
It did not take long for him to find the thick metal door hidden under the floor.
“This must be Tu Zheng’s lair, quite a secluded hideout,” Li Ming rubbed his hands together.
According to Zeng Hao, this was one of Tu Zheng’s secret castles, with quite a few things hidden here, in case of a need to make a comeback.
Li Ming corroded a small hole in the metal door and walked down the stairs, into the dark metallic corridor.
Halfway through, he stopped and looked up at a corner surveillance camera.
He then used a mechanical arm to hoist himself up, dismantled the surveillance camera, and pulled out the data transmission wire.
Following that, he took out a small smart-brain, connected the two, and quickly hacked into the system.
The security system here was outdated, and the hacking software he’d written previously easily obtained the necessary permissions.
Whirr—the wall lights turned on one by one, illuminating the entire bunker as if it were broad daylight.
