CHAPTER 31: CHAPTER 31 TALKING TO HER

*CADEN*

Today, Alora had some scenes in her upcoming movie to shoot and I followed her to the venue.

They were shooting at a mall.

When we got there, the area they were using had already been cleared out and everyone was getting ready.

A woman walked up to Alora.

“Do we have to literally wait for you every time? What are you feeling like? A queen or something?”She snarled.

I could instantly tell she didn’t like Alora.

And I didn’t like the way to spoke to her at all.

“Vanessa, there was a bit of traffic, and I wasn’t late.”Alora snapped.

Vanessa scoffed and then her eyes fell on me.

“Who’s this hunk?” She winked at me.

I slung her an hostile look.

Alora didn’t answer her and made to leave but Vanessa blocked her part.

“Seeing how he’s following you around and that earpiece, is he your bodyguard?”

“Vanessa, I think you should go get ready for your role.”Alora advised.

Vanessa moved closer to me.”So one can get hot men like this as a bodyguard, I better tell Dan to find me one. Too bad, sweetie, if you weren’t just a mere bodyguard, I would have made you mine.”

That made my stomach turn and I fought the urge to vomit.

She winked at me again and then sashayed away.

Alora stared at me, shook her head and walked away.

The filming began, I stood by the side, out of sight from all the cameras as I quietly watched.

This was the first time I was witnessing the filming of any movie.

I had to say that the actors, directors, producers were quite remarkable.

Shooting multiple times, editing and then turning this into a masterpiece.

The filming process was quite funny though. While watching the movie, one would think a lot of things were happening in the background.

But it was awfully quiet, except for the voices of the actors, and the director either giving a positive or negative feedback.

Today, Alora was filming a break up scene. She’s had to cry about 6 times before they got the best recording.

I also got to know that the annoying lady earlier, Vanessa, was the supporting character.

The character who was always troubling the main leads. Most viewers hated characters like these. I hated her too. To think she was annoying too in real life made it worse.

***************

After a while, the filming ended and I escorted Alora back to the car.

She looked tired as she leaned against the headrest.

Jerry started the car and drove off.

“What’s the deal with Vanessa?”I asked Alora, curiously.

She opened her eyes.”What? Are you going to smash her because she finds you attractive?”

I gasped.”Do you have to think the worse of me every time?”

She rolled her eyes.

“I asked you before if you knew of anyone who had the motive to hurt you, why didn’t you mention her?”

Alora scoffed.”Vanessa? She’s all talk. She can’t do a thing to me.”

“Everyone who hates you is a suspect for now. Why does she hate you anyway?”

“She thinks I keep stealing the female lead roles from her. It isn’t my fault that I’m better than her.”

Granted, she was a great actress but she had turned out to be quite proud.

She glared at me.”Why are you staring at me like that?”

I shook my head.”Anyway, has she tried to hurt you before? Even if it isn’t anything major, maybe minor accidents and stuff.”

Alora bit her lower lip and I know she was in deep thought.

“She had spilled hot coffee on my hand before and she said it was an accident. Another time at a movie premiere, she stepped on my dress, causing the slit to go even higher. I literally had to change because my underwear was exposed.”

“We have to have her investigated.”I declared.

Alora stared at me.”She might have made flimsy attempt to hurt me but I don’t think she’d go as far as trying to kill me. Vanessa is a pretty dumb bitch. She can’t act shit, she even manages to get supporting roles because of her father’s connections.”

“Alora, like I said earlier, we cannot underestimate anyone at the moment. Especially not someone who clearly doesn’t like you. She’s a suspect till further investigation clears her name, you need to be careful of her.”

“A stupid bitch like Vanessa is no problem for me.”

She was still so stubborn but it was my job to protect her so I had to make sure that Vanessa doesn’t even touch a hair strands from her hair from now on.

I brought out my phone and texted Mason, telling him about Vanessa.

He knew what to do as regards to investigating her.

The car fell silent again but I was curious about something.

“How did you cry?”I asked.

She glanced at me.

“I mean, at the set. You did that effortlessly, I always wondered how actors did that.”

She shrugged. “While to some people, it’s just acting but to most actors, to me, it is becoming that character for a period of time. I don’t just see it as acting, I see it as my life on set, and so, I feel everything, I feel the character’s joy, I feel the character’s sorrows.”

I nodded in comprehension.”So it felt like your heart was really breaking back then?”

Alora nodded.”But it doesn’t work like that all the time. Sometimes, it’d so hard to connect to the character’s sorrow; so I have to think back to a sad moment in my life, I had to recall my own sadness so I can cry.”

I hoped she didn’t have a lot of sad moments in her life and I hated to think that I was one of the sad moments.

She continued.”If that doesn’t work either, some actors can use additional props to stimulate the eyes.”

“Does this movie you’re shooting have a sad ending?”I asked her.

“Why are you asking?”

“You’ve died in three of your movies so far and I didn’t like it. Why did you even star in them?”

And then, Alora looked shocked.”You watch my movies?”

I gulped.

I didn’t want her to think I was obsessed with her or anything so I let out, nonchalantly.”I’ve watch a few at my leisure.”

“Then how do you that I’ve died in three of my movies so far because that’s actually accurate?”

“I...I just...randomly said that because they’re part of the ones I’ve watched.”

“How many of my movies and series have you watched?”She asked.

All.

But I didn’t say that.

I was still pretending to be nonchalant.”I don’t remember, maybe 4 or 5, I don’t really know.”

“So what do you think of my acting?”

“I think you more than deserve to be an A-list actress. You’re remarkable.”

She smiled.

My heartbeat accelerated.

She was smiling at me!

But that smile immediately disappeared and she quickly looked away.

I suppressed my lips in a tight line. Talking to her like this had literally made my day.

**********

When we got to her Villa, I held open the door for her.

Suddenly, she looked up and slung me the most hostile look she had ever given me.

What did I do?

She got out of the car and warned. “I told you not to engage in small talks with me, that should be the last time, Caden.”

And she’s back to hating me.

I sighed. “I can’t believe you still have a grudge, it’s been eight years.”

“Grudge? You wish. I don’t even remember what happened back then anymore. You literally had stopped existing to me.”

“You’re such a fucking brat.” The words were out before I could stop them.

She looked at me as if I had slapped her.

“Brat? Brat?! That’s it! I’ve had it with you! You’re fired!”

“Em, Oscar said he’s the only one who can fire me.”

“You’re fired!” She yelled, brought out her cellphone and dialed a number.

As she stormed off towards her mansion, I heard her say;

“Oscar, I need another bodyguard. Fire him right now, I don’t need...”

I chuckled.

Why do I still find her still so beautiful even when she’s in rage?
