“How is bshe/b?” I ask James as I see him standing outside of the rogue’s hospital broom/b. I’m not surprised that he is awake and at the hospital at 5:30a.m.

“Almost fully healed,” James bsighs/b. “What am I going to do?”

“What do you want to do?” I ask him curiously to see where his thinking bis /bbat/b.

“I know that I should reject her. She is a rogue. She and her brother attacked us and were in on kidnapping my Luna,” he says.

“But?” I bask/bb, /bsensing that he bhas /bmore to say about the situation.

“But she is my mate. I feel the pull. If I reject her, who’s to say that I will be bblessed /bwith a second

chance mater? Also, I haven’t even been able to talk with her yet. I don’t know why she bbecame /bba /b

rogue. Hell, I don’t beven /bbknow /bher personality. All I do know is that she was hurt protecting my Luna,” James tells.

Kira, I need to start calling her bKira /band not just the rogue. “No, I’m here to talk with you about the battack /byesterday,” I tell her.

“Well, let’s get the torture started,” she growls with false bravado..

“No torture, just some questions as long as you answer honestly,” I tell her.

“No, I brought him because he is your mate and my Befa,” I tell her.

“So, you bcan /breject me?” Kira growls, she brings her knees up to her chest. She lets out a hiss of pain. She then puts her legs back on the bed.

“I was hoping to talk with you first,” James tells her honestly.

“Alright,” she sighs, “after your bAlpha /bis done, we can talk.

“Why did you attack us?” I ask, jumping right into what I want to know.

“We were tasked with finding and capturing the White Wolf,” she answers honestly.

“Why and by whom?” I demand. I do not like the bidea /bof someone hunting my mate.

“I don’t know the why, but the whom, I do know. A witch’s coven forced us to hunt bfor /bher,” she tells olliUS. /li/ol

“A coven?” James asks skeptically. “Witches no longer exist.”

“No, this is the second time rumors of witches have reached me,” I tell him.

“What?” James asks.

“When the Alphas came the other day, Alpha Harold brought up witches. He thinks that the reason Ama cannot mind link is because of a witch,” I tell him.

“A binding?” Kira asks in rification.

“Do you know bwhat /bit is?” I ask.

“Daniel and I have been Indentured to the witch coven for almost two years. I identally found them when my brother needed healing. They have held his healing bover /bus and demanded us to do their bidding as payment,” she sighs.

“Why not go to your pack doctor?” ask.

“We had fled our pack the month before,” Kira says. “We were in the middle of nowhere and I had no ess to a human doctor or another pack for help.”

“Who was your Alpha? Which pack are you fromb?/bb” /bI ask, this way I can check with the Alpha.

“bDevin /bConnix of the Dawn w Pack,” she tells me.

“Former Alpha Devin?” I demand.

“He was stripped of his titleb,/b” I tell her.

“Good, good, he deserves it,” she mutters.

“What did Devin do?” James growls.

Kira starts her story, “He wanted to take me as his chosen mate. Devin has wanted me as his chosen mate for years. Even before I turned eighteen, he had pushed for me to be his mate. He stalked me for years. I refused as I was underage, and bws /bprevent him from marking me. But the moment I turned eighteen, he had taken to trying to force me to chose him. I refused, told him I wanted time to meet my fated mate. Heshed out at bme/b, tried to kill me.

“Danny intervened to protect me, bevin then banished the both of us. I think he was hoping that by banishing us, I woulde crawling back to the pack after a week. He wanted me desperate. Danny and I ran as fast as we could to get away.

“When it got to the end of the third week, we had heard rumors that Devin and his friends had started hunting us. We were unable to evade him. He had friends and resources that we didn’t have. He found us within the week, at least was what he told bme/bb. /bWe tried to make a stand, and Danny got

hurt.

“I and Danny got away again. We stumbled into their territory. The Coven leader keeps them hidden in a realm, most of the time. But every once and awhile they leave that realm ande to this one. We found them during one of those times. She was able to heal Danny, in exchange for us doing favors for her in this realm.

“Why do they not just hang out in their realm the whole time?” I ask.

“I don’t know. She refused to tell us why,” Kira says.

“Do you know her name?” I ask.

“No, she refused to tell me it. All she told me was her title, saying that iI /icould call her Countess,” she tells me.
