“You think that they left for some reason?” I ask curiously. Now I am intrigued by what could have happened.

“I don’t know why though. It was a school day. We went on lock down, I was safe. Danny is a year older than me. He would have been at the school too. We would have been safe. My parents started work at the pack house at 6:00 a.m., every day. They don’t get done until dinner,” she tells me.

“The only reason they would bhave /bleft the safety of the pack house, would have been if someone was with them when they left or were told to leave?” I ask as I try to puzzle out what could have happened.

So, with them dead, the moment Kira turned eighteen, he could mark her.

“He had my parents killed,” Kira growls. “His head will end up on a pike and i will put it there

myself.”

“Only if I get to bhelp/b,” I smirk dangerously.

“Of course, can’t leave my protector behind,” Kira smirks at me.

“You are beautiful, when you are terrifying.” I say like a lovesick fool.

Kiraughs at me. This time she does bnot /bcover her mouth. “So, tell me about your parents,” Kira bsays /bas she settles back into her bed.

“I lost my mom in a rogue attack a few years back. Since then, it’s just been me and dad,” I say with a shrug.

“Come on, I bgave /byou more than that,” she scoffs at me.

“What can I say?” I smirk, trying to bait her into asking me questions.

“What is your dad like?” Kira growls at me yfully.

“bDad’s /bawesome. He lost his wolf shortly after mom died. I think he knew he would not get a second bchance /bmate, nor did he want one. He handed over a lot of Beta duties then. I’ve been acting Beta for over a year and a half. Became the official Beta a few weeks ago when the twins took over,” I exin to her.
