CHAPTER 576: CHAPTER 473: DEATH CLEARS DEBTS, SOLID REPUTATION, UNDERCOVER (VOTE FOR MONTHLY PASS)
Sapporo, having just returned home and feeling completely exhausted, Aoyama Xiu Xin lay on the plump and fair thighs of his sister-in-law, enjoying her gentle head massage.
Aoyama Haruko’s feet were becoming ever more nimble.
Women’s feet are wonderful! Who doesn’t like women’s feet?
"Ring ring! Ring ring!"
The ringing of the phone interrupted Xiu Xin’s enjoyment.
"Idiot," he cursed softly, sitting up reluctantly and picking up the phone from the desk to answer it.
Suddenly, he felt a soft touch again and, looking down, he saw a pair of tender and delicate little feet making a return visit. He turned his head to Aoyama Haruko and met her shy yet tender gaze.
"Hss~" Xiu Xin took a deep breath and then answered the call, "This is Aoyama Xiu Xin."
"Panasonic Youkang."
"Mayor Panasonic?" Xiu Xin was somewhat surprised, "An after-midnight call, may I know the purpose?"
"Akben Jiancheng is dead."
"What?" Xiu Xin was startled and asked in surprise, "He’s dead? How did he die?"
"Gun down by a group of masked gangsters who broke into his home. The police at the scene said his body could yield at least a pound of bullets. Not just him, apart from his two children, the entire Akahone Family from top to bottom has been wiped out," Panasonic Youkang said with empathy in his voice.
He too was afraid of such thugs.
"What kind of deep hatred could this be!" Xiu Xin exclaimed, then quickly said, "But Mayor Panasonic, this wasn’t my doing!"
Unless cornered with no way out, someone of his status would never do such a thing; otherwise, should any word leak out, his career would be over.
No one likes an uncontrollable madman.
"I know." Panasonic Youkang did not doubt Xiu Xin. As long as the latter wasn’t crazy, he wouldn’t do such a thing. Sighing, he said, "I’m just calling to inform you. Since the man is dead, the conflict between you two has also been settled, and it’s also a concern off your mind."
"The debt dies with the man. Mayor Panasonic, rest assured, I won’t hold on to a grudge with a dead person," Xiu Xin understood the implications and immediately made a promise.
"Uh-huh," Panasonic Youkang uttered and then said, "Have East Field Construction’s people come as soon as possible."
"Understood!" Xiu Xin responded and, after hanging up, called Fujimoto Takayoshi to report the matter and then called Nakamura Shinichi, "Go to Mrs. Chunshan right away to change her testimony. Make it that she and her husband were only taking money to work, unaware of who the mastermind was."
With Akben Jiancheng already dead, disclosing the truth was meaningless. It was better to give Panasonic Youkang some face and preserve the reputation of the deceased Jiancheng.
After hanging up the phone, Xiu Xin still felt some emotion. Life is unpredictable, and accidents are hard to prevent. The incredibly wealthy Akben Jiancheng was, astonishingly, gunned down by thugs who had stormed into his house. The world was damn dangerous.
"Ring ring! Ring ring!"
The phone rang once more.
"Moshi moshi? This is Aoyama Xiu Xin."
"Mr. Aoyama, it’s me," came the hearty voice of Fujimoto Ryosuke, "I went back to South Korea for some business. I’ll catch up for a drink next time we meet."
Leaving in such a hurry—" Xiu Xin’s words stopped as he suddenly realized something, his complexion changed and he stood up sharply, speaking in a low voice, "Did you do it?"
"It’s been a while. I had wanted to give you credit as a meeting gift, but it turned out to be a big present you gave me. After much thought, I could only help you out with your immediate trouble," the sea breeze whistled as Fujimoto Ryosuke stood at the bow, looking at the increasingly distant coastline, smiling faintly in a calm tone.
Xiu Xin took a sharp breath, his feelings indescribable. In the end, he said, "Thanks."
"You’re welcome," Ryosuke answered, exhaling a long breath, "I’m just a nobody from the Black Society, with no status or connections. But I dare to kill. If you ever come across an insurmountable obstacle, give me a call, and I’ll flatten it for you with just the flick of a finger."
Xiu Xin smiled upon hearing this but did not respond.
This time it was fine, but next time he couldn’t let Fujimoto Ryosuke behave so brutally. Once, no one would suspect him, but if all who bore him a grudge were wiped out thereafter, wouldn’t it be obvious it was connected to him?
Even without evidence, the higher-ups didn’t need evidence, they would consensually restrict his future prospects.
But to have such a friend, he was pleased.
"I’m at sea; the signal is bad. I’m hanging up."
After Fujimoto Ryosuke finished speaking, he hung up.
"Doo doo doo—"
Listening to the busy tone, Xiu Xin remained with the phone for a while before putting it down, sitting and staring blankly.
Seeing this, Haruko also didn’t dare to speak up and disturb him.
Silently acting like a little girl picking mushrooms. The mushroom cap was brilliantly red, covered with sparkling morning dew, captivatingly delicious. She couldn’t resist taking a bite and, consequently, suffered from mushroom poisoning, her eyes becoming dazed, her consciousness hazy, her body twitching for a while.
Warm reminder: Wild mushrooms should not be eaten carelessly!
Over the course of one night, time hurried by.
The next day, as the news was broadcasted, the Akahone Family’s blood case shocked the nation, and the last time the citizens had felt such a shock was when the family of Cabinet Minister Kitanohara, the labor ministry’s internal affairs deputy director, was wiped out.
But aside from Aoyama Xiu Xin, no one knew that the same person was responsible for both serious cases. In the morning press conference, he expressed sympathy for the victims of the Akahone family and claimed that his department would take over the investigation, vowing to capture the real murderer.
Furthermore, at the press conference, Fujimoto Takayoshi also announced the autopsy results of Chunshan Kong and the testimony of Mrs. Chunshan, proving that someone was deliberately framing Aoyama Xiu Xin, who was innocent.
"Chief of Police Qing Mountain is a hero in the eyes of countless citizens, but he is also a thorn in the side of countless criminals, always a target for those who wish to take him out at all costs by fabricating various conspiracies."
"Therefore, I hope that if something like this happens again, the public will remain rational, trust Chief of Police Qing Mountain and the police, and not be easily used by bad actors as a blade that pierces through their own shield."
With Akben Jiancheng no longer causing trouble, the press conference led to Aoyama Xiu Xin being completely exonerated of suspicion, prompting widespread public discussion.
"I just knew Chief of Police Qing Mountain must be innocent. How could he have done such a thing?"
"Sigh, I was wrong, I almost wronged Chief of Police Qing Mountain. From now on, I will absolutely not believe any news that tries to slander him!"
"From now on, any such incident will be treated as an attempt by bad actors to eliminate him through smear."
Through misfortune, Aoyama Xiu Xin further solidified his image as a figure of justice in the eyes of the nation.
............
In the blink of an eye, it was March 20th.
Only one day remained until the "Fishing Master Plan" was to be executed. That morning, Aoyama Xiu Xin called a meeting with the heads of the various divisions of the Criminal Department, laying out the arrest plan based on detailed intelligence provided by Nozaki Cangjian.
"According to reliable intelligence, tomorrow night here, here, and here—and also here," Aoyama Xiu Xin circled four locations on the map, and then continued, "the residual forces of the Miyazaki Family will conduct drug trades simultaneously with four different criminals."
"What? They’re really brazen!"
"Yes, knowing how unprecedentedly strict the anti-drug laws are now, the Miyazaki Family still dares to commit crimes, and they are dealing with four parties at once, which is utterly reckless!"
"Deputy Director, it sounds a bit far-fetched. Is the source of the information reliable? We don’t want to end up with a false alarm."
The people below couldn’t help but start discussing, as such a bold approach to drug trafficking had never been encountered before.
One could only say that the Miyazaki Family, which had created new types of drugs and orchestrated several shootings, remained arrogant even after being hit once.
"Thump, thump, thump!" Aoyama Xiu Xin tapped the whiteboard with his pen, waiting for the meeting room to gradually quiet down before continuing, "The information is definitely reliable, don’t worry about that. Tomorrow you will divide into five teams: teams one, two, three, and four to head to the four trade locations in advance for an ambush, ready to capture both buyers and sellers. Team five will serve as support, on standby. Understood? If there are no questions, I’ll start assigning specific tasks now."
"No!" Everyone answered in unison.
"Okay, then..."
Meanwhile, at the food processing plant where Kudou Kei had worked, a new junior security guard was wandering around the premises.
It looked as though he was searching for something.
He was the undercover cop planted by Nakamura Shinichi in the food factory to investigate, named Miyamoto Hei, a nineteen-year-old who had been on the job for only a short time.
During his two days in the food factory, where he was tasked with patrolling the processing workshops, he hadn’t found anything amiss; everything within the factory seemed normal.
The only slightly suspicious thing was that the patrolling areas for each security guard were fixed, with only one or two guards patrolling most areas, yet the office building always had four guards on a constant patrol.
Although this could be explained by the presence of important documents inside the office building, Miyamoto Hei still felt something was off.
So, he was always looking for a chance to take a peek inside.
"Hey, Mr. Miyamoto, what are you doing?"
Suddenly, a voice came from behind.
Miyamoto Hei stiffened, instinctively stopping in his tracks, and as he turned, his expression had already returned to normal, replying, "Captain, I’m on patrol."
"That’s not necessary for you, your patrol area is confined to this section of the processing workshops," the security captain said with a frown, then glanced at his watch, "The morning meeting is about to start, let’s go, come with me."
"Yes sir!" Miyamoto Hei responded briskly and trotted along, showing a shy and curious expression, "Captain, when can I be assigned to patrol the office building? It’s much easier than this."
The four guards responsible for the office building’s security only needed to stand guard below, whereas other guards had to keep moving and patrolling, which was comparatively more strenuous.
"Idiot! You, you just got here, and you’re already thinking about slacking off?" The security captain slapped him on the shoulder, laughing, "Do a good job patrolling your own area. They might have it easier, but they don’t get paid as much as you do. So, do you still want to switch?"
"Well, maybe I better not, I’m here to make money after all," Miyamoto Hei shook his head vigorously.
But his suspicion deepened—who could believe that the four guards patrolling the office building were paid less than him?
The cigarettes that those four guards smoked were never cheap.
He smelled something fishy!
