Told You I Can Turn Back Time

The servant didn’t know how to respond and awkwardly withdrew.
Lin Xing then looked at the woman on the bed and said, “As a fallen woman, since Commander Zhang has redeemed you, you can now be considered reformed.
I don’t need you here; go find a job to support yourself.”
Having said that, Lin Xing let the woman leave.
“A fallen woman?” The woman furrowed her brows slightly upon hearing this unusual term.
But when she heard Lin Xing’s final words, a flash of surprise crossed her eyes, and she asked incredulously, “You…
don’t want me?
Do you disdain me, sir?
Although I was born in a brothel, I have never been taken out, and I am still intact.”
Lin Xing waved his hand and said, “It’s not that I discriminate against you social outcasts; I simply do not need a maid who was bought.
Please leave.”
The woman paused, carrying an inexplicable expression as she walked towards the door.
Just then, Lin Xing’s voice sounded from behind her, “Wait, did you say your name is Mo Xingye?”
Mo Xingye’s lips curved into a slight smile, but as she turned around, her expression was calm and indifferent as she nodded in confirmation.
“Mo Xingye?
Mo Xingye?” Lin Xing stroked his chin, a puzzled look on his face, “Why does that name sound familiar?”
Hearing Lin Xing’s words, the hidden sarcasm in Mo Xingye’s eyes seemed to deepen, her expression growing even more indifferent.
The voice of a cat toy echoed in Lin Xing’s mind, “You don’t remember?
Didn’t you just see her in Building C a few days ago?”
Lin Xing’s eyes sparkled, “I remember now, the delusional woman, right?”
Then he rubbed his head and said, “You can’t blame me for not remembering; it’s only been a few days for you, but for me, it was many months ago.”
Bai Yiyi thought about it, realizing that while Lin Xing had been focused on Commander Zhang recently, it seemed like just a few days to ordinary people, but for Lin Xing, it felt like a long time had passed.
Seeing Lin Xing talking to himself, a strange color flashed across Mo Xingye’s face, “Who are you talking to?”
Lin Xing was observing her, comparing her appearance continuously with the delusional woman he encountered in the recreation room, wondering, “These can’t be the same person, right?
Why would they both be called Oiran?
And share the same name?”
The voice of Bai Yiyi rang out in his mind, “Don’t alert her now; go back and ask that madwoman across the door; she might know something.”
Lin Xing agreed with Bai Yiyi’s suggestion and said to Mo Xingye, “Wait here for me; I have some matters to attend to.
I will come back and talk to you afterward.”
Watching Lin Xing hastily leave, Mo Xingye scoffed, “At first, he pretends to be a righteous man, but in the end, he still left me alone?”
After speaking, she suddenly looked at Bai Yiyi beside her and grabbed the cat toy in her palm.
“This toy…” she said, frowning, “is well made but dirty.
It’s covered in dust.”
Meanwhile, Lin Xing found a deserted outhouse and began performing the Secret Technique outside the door.
“When dual heavens converge, reveal thyself to me; the gates of immortality swing wide, the five qi rise.”
After reciting the incantation seven or eight times, a familiar sensation rose from the door in front of him.
Lin Xing pushed the door open and stepped through, returning to the present world.
…
The former hospital ward appeared before him.
Everything was placed just as it had been, seemingly unchanged.
But Lin Xing discovered that there seemed to be some additional surveillance cameras installed in the room.
Although there were already cameras in the hospital room, now cameras were placed in all four corners of the room, obviously installed after he had left.
And Lin Xing’s appearance quickly alarmed the nurses outside, and a series of shouts and calls echoed through the hallway.
Soon after, Lao Zhong hurried to the door of the hospital room and asked anxiously, “Why were you gone for so long this time?”
Lin Xing replied sheepishly, “I had no choice, I can only practice my skills in the Mirror World, and it’s not convenient to travel back and forth.”
Lao Zhong sighed, “Many people thought you might have died…” He suddenly paused, looking at Lin Xing’s clothes and bandages with concern and asked, “Are you injured?
Is it severe?”
Lin Xing nodded and said helplessly, “I was in a fight to the death with someone when suddenly someone rushed up and saved me; otherwise, my injuries wouldn’t be this severe.”
Lao Zhong was taken aback; he understood every word Lin Xing said, but when put together, it made no sense to him.
He suggested, “Do you want to get some treatment quickly?
The medical facilities here are definitely better than those in the Mirror World.”
Lin Xing thought it over and then let Lao Zhong take him for an examination.
They then discovered that Lin Xing’s injuries had all been properly treated, and several gunshot and stab wounds were healing well, showing a remarkably strong constitution.
On their way back, Lin Xing said to Lao Zhong, “Can you arrange a meeting with Subject Two for me?
I have some questions I want to ask her.”
Lao Zhong nodded; Wei Zhi had already delegated the tasks of observing and receiving Lin Xing to him before leaving.
According to the head, Lv Ming’s orders, he was to fulfill Lin Xing’s requests as much as possible and had no mandatory orders to impose on him.
He only needed to report when Lin Xing wanted to leave Building C to be discharged, or if Lin Xing exhibited any violent tendencies.
Looking at Lin Xing, who seemed like a normal person, Lao Zhong could not understand why the higher-ups had granted Lin Xing so much freedom.
The next day, Lin Xing met with Mo Xingye, who suffered from delusional paranoia.
Later in the afternoon, after sensing the door opening again, Lin Xing returned to the Mirror World.
Shortly after Lin Xing left, a group of unknown men in black arrived at the Quantum Intelligence Research Institute and entered Building C.
The leader of the men in black approached Lao Zhong and demanded, “Where is Lin Xing?”
Lao Zhong answered, “He’s left.
Who are you?”
Another man in black presented him with a document.
The leader’s eyes flashed coldly as he spoke, “You just let him leave like that?”
Lao Zhong, slightly startled by the organization listed on the document, replied, “My instructions were to not interfere with any of his actions.”
The leader snorted, “Well, I’m telling you now, from now on, I’m in charge here.
The next time Lin Xing shows up, he must be detained.
Without my orders, he is not allowed to go to the Mirror World again.”
Lao Zhong tried to contact his superiors, but soon realized that he was temporarily unable to reach Lv Ming and Wei Zhi.
He then discovered that this group of men in black had astonishingly broad authority and started remodeling Building C right away.
Under his astonished gaze, Lin Xing’s hospital room became the focal point of the renovation.
Watching the walls thicken and various restraining devices being installed, Lao Zhong thought these measures would probably be enough to contain even a dinosaur.
