Too Late, Mr. Billionaire: You can’t afford me now
Chapter 1284
?Chapter 1284:
“Don’t worry about that.” The woman raised her hand, forming an “OK” gesture. “I’m heading out.”
“Good.”
She ducked her head and jogged toward the elevator.
Once the doors closed and she was alone, she let out a sigh and sneered. “What a snake!” she muttered under her breath.
Her thoughts turned bitter as she leaned against the elevator wall. Hadley, with her fame and attitude, probably thought she was untouchable. But now things were finally starting to shift.
And the person behind it all wasn’t some enemy in the shadows, it was A, the very woman she called a friend.
Someone like Hadley, wealthy and distant, could never keep genuine friendships. Her circle was all surface-level smiles and shallow ties. The woman might have disliked Hadley, but even she had to admit one thing—that A was on an entirely different level of deceit.
Because she had ess to a master keycard, A paid her to enter Eric’s room and carry out a specific task.
The woman went inside and lit several candles, though they weren’t just ordinary scented wax. The ingredients blended into the candle were known to induce physical sensitivity and cloud the mind with hallucinatory effects.
She didn’t know where A had gotten her hands on something like this—nor did she care anyway. “Humph.”
She let out a quiet sound, more of a scoff, the coldness in her tone revealing her distaste.
It wasn’t hard to picture what might happen next. Once Eric inhaled the aroma and A entered the room, would he really be in control of his actions?
And if Hadley came across the two of them together, tangled in bed, how would she respond?
“Serves her right.”
Just the thought of Hadley’s humiliation brought a cruel satisfaction to the woman’s face. This was payback, justice for the arrest and fine that had been forced on her after the incident on set.

She thought to herself, “You snatched Linda’s boyfriend without remorse. Now someone’s going to take him from you. Isn’t that the perfect twist? Hadley, now it’s payback time.”
Meanwhile, A stood in the hallway with her eyes fixed on the door, her mind swirling with wild anticipation.
She imagined herself lying beside Eric by the end of the night. And once that happened, everything she had ever wanted would finally fall into ce.
She wouldn’t just have Eric, she would reim what she believed was always meant to be hers.
It had been Eric’s job to elevate her career. He was supposed to help her be a star, to shine on the biggest stages. Tonight, she told herself, was her perfect chance!
Eric just happened to be staying at this hotel. That fan of Linda’s helped set up the scene. And Hadley, conveniently, had a night shoot scheduled.
To A, it all felt like fate had lined up perfectly, just for her.
“Hadley, the night shoot isn’t happening anymore!”
