?Chapter 1287:

    “You’repletely wasted.”

Her cheeks were squished between his palms, her lips forced into a pout. “No more water. Go to sleep.” She tried to push him away.

    “Stay.”

Eric held on, his fingers warm against her skin. His eyes, barely open, searched her face before he leaned in and kissed her.

Hadley froze. Her eyes flew open in shock.

The man holding her didn’t stop; his kiss only grew deeper, more consuming.

Out in the hallway, A clutched the room card, pacing in tight, frustrated circles.

She’d been standing here for an hour.

Atst, Eric showed up, but he wasn’t alone. Hadley was with him. Just minutes before that, she had seen the group message confirming the night shoot had been called off.

    Why now, of all times?

What was she supposed to do?

Hadley had gone inside with Eric. Which meant… was she staying the night?

A burned with frustration. She had nned everything down to thest detail—yet somehow, it was Hadley reaping the reward.

Hadley lifted her hand, reflexively trying to push Eric away.

Oddly enough, her body felt weak. Why? Being in his arms softened her body and made her want to sink into him. Her pulse raced, her breath came in quick bursts.

And then, almost without realizing it, her eyes closed and she leaned in, returning his kiss.

That response seemed to light a fire in him. Encouraged, Eric grew bolder.

His fingers grazed her neck as he slowly untied the knot near her cor.

The shawl slid from her shoulders—and just like that, Hadley jolted awake. What was she doing? Had she really let herself melt into his kiss?

    “Stop!”

The words shot out as she shoved him away, bolting from the bed and rushing toward the door. She had to leave—right now.

    “Hadley!”

She’d only managed a couple of steps when she tripped on something. Her knees gave out, and she crashed to the floor.

She braced her hands on the carpet, struggling to rise. But her limbs betrayed her, limp and drained. And it was toote to run away now.

Eric wrapped his arms around her from behind, holding her tightly, his cheek pressed against the side of her neck. “Hadley, don’t go. Stay with me, please?”

As he whispered, Hadley found herself leaning back into him without understanding why. “Hadley…”

Eric’s voice softened. He lifted her gently and carried her back to the bed, lowering her with care.

Her lips parted slightly, her long dark hair fanned across the pristine sheets; the contrast was striking—almost unreal.

    “Hadley, Hadley…”

He murmured her name again and again as he leaned in. His kisses came softly, one after another.

Hadley didn’t resist. Her arms slipped around his neck, and she closed her eyes.
