Top Actress Beware: Also Reborn Is Your CEO Husband!
Chapter 171: People's tastes change, including liking someone
So it was just like this.
"Got it, I'll be downstairs in a moment, you go ahead." Aurelia Shaw said.
"Okay." Nanny Rong responded, walking out.
She recalled the words the young master had instructed her to convey that morning.
Why didn't the young master speak to the Young Madam directly? Why did he insist on having her relay the message? And he specifically instructed that if the Young Madam asked, she should say that she had tucked her in.
The young master clearly cares so much for the Young Madam, why can't he just say it to her face?
Nanny Rong sighed.
Though they're a married couple, they act as distant as strangers.
When will they reconcile?
Aurelia got up, quickly washed up, and went downstairs for breakfast. In the dining room, she paused for a moment as she saw the tall figure seated at the table.
Mason Nightshade also noticed her, lifted his eyes to look at her, and spoke in a slightly displeased but indulgent tone, "What are you standing there for? Come and have breakfast."
Aurelia walked over slowly.
Nanny Rong served her a glass of milk and a fried egg.
She picked up her chopsticks and began eating slowly, never once glancing at the man across from her. Mason's face darkened, and he occasionally glanced at Aurelia. With one hand, he picked up a slice of bread, spread jam on it with the other hand, and reached out to offer it.
"Here." He said in a deep, slightly displeased voice.
Aurelia paused her hand holding the food, looked at the bread in Mason's hand, then at him, her eyes tilting up with a hint of proud defiance, "I don't eat bread."
"You used to eat it!" Mason gritted his teeth.
"Tastes change." Aurelia replied casually, "People's tastes can change, what you liked in the past, you might not like now, and what you like now, you might not like in the future."
"Is it the same with people you like?" Mason asked.
"That depends on whether that person is worth liking." Aurelia said, "If I keep giving and the other party doesn't appreciate it, even hurts my sincere heart completely, why should I still like such a person? I, Aurelia Shaw, may be stubborn, when I like someone, I truly mean it. But I'm not a fool, if I've chased enough and can't catch up, I'll give up. If my heart is still trampled after chasing, then I will hate that person."
Mason's heart twisted in pain, as the image of Aurelia's anguished, desperate face suddenly came to mind, his fingers tensed slightly, and panic settled in his heart.
"What if that person acknowledges their mistakes? Wants to truly change? Wouldn't you..." He swallowed, nervously looking at Aurelia, "Wouldn't you give him a chance to make amends?"
"Give them a chance to hurt me again?" Aurelia's lips curled into a cold, mocking smile.
Mason suddenly had an illusion that her eyes were mocking him, a sense of guilt flashed through him, he looked away, not daring to meet Aurelia's eyes again. The piece of bread in his hand had already been crushed, his beautiful, slender fingers trembled slightly, and he instantly lost all appetite.
Aurelia glanced at Mason, confused as to why he had that expression. He hadn't done anything excessively wrong to her in this life, just left her alone in the bridal chamber on their wedding night and rarely came home afterward.
"Since you're home now, let's finish discussing what we didn't finish last night today." Aurelia suddenly remembered that it was unclear when Mason would disappear again. This matter had been dragging on for over half a month, so it was about time to finalize the divorce, "Nanny Rong, go to my room upstairs, there's a divorce agreement on the cabinet to the left of the bed, could you bring it down for me?"
